The daily lemming

Posted by Robin on 11 May 2017 11 Comments

Not worth shipping from France, I guess, but I'd like one: Le Baume L'Eau de Cologne from La Société Parisienne de Savons, a multipurpose balm for lips or skin. It's made in a base of cocoa butter and lanolin and is available in 12 fragrances including the one shown, at €7 a pop.

12 of them! The brand is distributed in the US, but not the balms (that I can find), don’t know why.

Even better! I can’t open their site at work but will look into it once I get home.

On the website they have a coffret of all 12 Baumes, for 80 Euro, it looks like. Oh, dear. I wonder if that is available in the US, somewhere. Plus, many of the colognes are intriguing…

OH, I missed the coffret. But admit I could never use up that much balm, especially if it’s the hard sort of consistency you might use on lips or cuticles.

I haven’t tried this, but a friend recently sent me a little tin of Smith’s Rosebud Salve. It is basically the most wonderful thing ever–the creamiest balm I’ve ever felt. I’m not crazy about the difficulty of opening the tin or the messiness of the application, but the product is spectacular. I wonder how this one compares–has anyone tried both? This would still retain the problems of packaging and application 🙁 but it would be fun to try out new scents.

I like the Rosebud one, although I haven’t had a tin in a long time.

You’ve hit my lemming sweet spot! Perfume lip balm. Got some of the Tokyo Milk lip elixirs hoping they’d be magic. They are nice and the tins are cute but in the end, they remind me more of the smell of lip smackers.

Just had a look at the details and the Violet one is for sure calling to me along with the Eau de Cologne!
