The daily lemming

Korres Jasmine Lip Butter

For anyone who is still wishing for a tub of that Rodin lip balm but doesn't want to spend so much, here's a cheaper alternative: Korres Jasmine Lip Butter. "This rich butter leaves lips deeply moisturized, supple, and kissably soft. Korres Lip Butters are formulated with natural oils and extracts to soothe and condition lips. Shea butter and rice wax provide lasting hydration and softness. This shiny, juicy pop of color comes in an array of "flavors" and is ideal for dry lips." (I have not smelled or tested it, but I can vouch for the Korres Jasmine Shower Gel.) $12 for 6g at Sephora.

Ooh, I have this in rose. It’s definitely quite moisturizing, and the much more prominent color in the rose version is perfect for those of us with darker skin tones. The only thing I don’t like is having a vivid burgundy layer of product left on my finger after application. How do you guys avoid that when using products like this, that require finger application?

      Kleenex?

Does the rose really smell / taste like rose?

Mmm, more of like a sweet candied vanilla rose. Only the faintest bit of sticky-sweet rose. I guess it’s more dark-vanilla to my nose than it is rose, but still lovely.

You could apply it with a lip brush instead of your finger. A retractable lip brush with a tight-fitting cap would be great to carry in your purse. Wish I could recommend a brand; I have a retractable from RealTechniques — the brush part is fine, but the cap is loose so I only use it at home. I’m sure there’s one out there that will travel well, though.

Also, I’m very late — but I don’t think I congratulated you on your new job — so, Congratulations!!!

Oh that’s a great idea. I am not sure I knew those existed, but now I’ll look for one!

And, thank you :) I’m enjoying my last two weeks of freedom/moving/learning how to drive before I start my life as an adult!

Korres used to have a stand-alone shop at Buchanan Galleries in Glasgow – not that I ever bought anything, but it was a lovely space to have a look around & try their products. It didn’t seem to be there for that long, though. Our local supermarket (Tesco) has a small stand with Korres products, but a very limited selection.

In the US they’re at Sephora. Hard to find the perfumes here, though.
