The daily lemming

Posted by Robin on 27 April 2017 16 Comments

Tempting but spendy counter sprays from Illume, in Rosewater Sage ("Aromatic eucalyptus mingles with silver sage, sparkling rosewater and warm amber") and Petitgrain Basil ("Torn garden basil leaves surround peppery petitgrain, zesty lemon blossoms and deep vetiver"), $12 each. If you've found a wonderful scented counter cleaner, do tell!

    A perfumed house, indeed!

I just use Borax and vinegar, to be honest, I have candles and my own perfume, which scent the house, so it’s nice to have a nice neutral smell when cleaning.

Me too. I don’t need a bunch of competing scents when I clean, I always try for neutral.
I have a wonderful kitchen candle for cooking odors and I do LOVE Illume candles in the rest of the house.
Their Roasting Chestnuts is a winter favorite. Now I’ve moved onto Oriental Tea, a light scent that doesn’t overpower. I haven’t decided on summer yet 🙂

I do like a bit of a nice smell — the Method rosemary one is about 1/4 of the cost of the Illume and is nice.

Those do sound nice, though I can’t imagine paying $12 for counter cleaner. I use the Mrs. Meyer’s Clean Day stuff in my kitchen. I am partial to the Rosemary scent.

Ha — I was just mentioning the Method Rosemary above. I can’t see paying $12 either but if I saw one of these cheap in TJ Maxx (not likely since I never go there) I’d probably bite.

I like Mrs. Meyer’s Lemon Verbena. It’s bright and clean and cheery!

I’m a fan of the geranium scented Mrs. Meyer’s scents, myself! I switch it up sometimes but I always come back to that one in particular.

I use Mrs. Meyer’s Lemon Verbena in the kitchen and bathroom, and her Geranium in the living room and bedroom. I find them both uplifting (to the extent that I can be uplifted while cleaning).

I like a lot of the Method limited editions – the Orly Kiely pear something was really nice. Now we have Ginger Yuzu, which is really nice. I wish Mrs. Meyer would bring back the Rhubarb scent. I usually use vinegar & water, but my daughters (almost 4 year olds) love when I spray smelly stuff so they are more likely to help clean the table and such. They also love saying Ginger Yuzu!

So cute! Maybe their Superhero names could be Ginger and Yuzu.

Love that idea. Sounds like an animated series, and a hit!
