Aedes de Venustas Pelargonium ~ new fragrance

Posted by Robin on 20 April 2017 11 Comments

Aedes de Venustas Pélargonium

West Village niche perfume boutique Aedes de Venustas will launch Pélargonium, a new unisex fragrance, next month.

Composed by perfumer Nathalie Feisthauer for the renowned American fragrance house, Aedes de Venustas, Pelargonium is an elegant still life painting of a bouquet of geranium, done in the crystalline yet saturated colors of the golden age of the Dutch masters. Described by Feisthauer as "aromatic with a facet of crushed leaves that reminds a little of incense and is less fruity, but more balsamic than rose,” the focus of this fragrance is the heady freshness of geranium. But filtered through an Egyptian inspiration, the perfume is imbued with the smoky exoticism of the souk and Arab culture.

Additional notes include bergamot, mandarin, clary sage, black pepper, cardamom, rose geranium, hedione, cedar, violet, vetiver, guaiac wood, iris, carrot seed, oakmoss, elemi, ambermax and musk.

Aedes de Venustas Pélargonium will be available in in 100 ml Eau de Parfum. It is available now for pre-order at Essenza Nobile in Germany.

Please give us your impressions when you have an opportunity! I love geranium and am so interested in this one (the bottle is not helping to curb my urge to blind buy, either :-/ )

Love the concept, the colour of the bottle and the notes list. On the “to definitely sample” list it goes…

Very curious to try this one. It wouldn’t hurt to fall in love with the one in the red glass, would it? 😉

The caps on those bottles are functional and satisfying to deploy, as well as looking great.

Interesting. Geranium/geraniol has a borderline insect repellent smell to me. Close to rose, but way more prickly. I’d love to see this reviewed.
