It is with profound sadness that I inform you that it's Monday, yet again. It's also Elizabeth Taylor's birthday, International Polar Bear Day and Anosmia Awareness Day. What fragrance are you wearing?
I'm in Stash SJP.
Reminder: 3/3 will be Let Your Freak Frag Fly Friday — wear your oddest fragrance. Suggested by Monkeytoe.
And for those of you who like to plan ahead, see Scent of the day ~ Friday community projects 2017, where I'll try to always have the next five or six weeks mapped out in advance.
Let Your Freak Frag Fly Friday: Interlude Woman
Elizabeth Taylor in Cleopatra is one of my fav’s, Oscar worthy in my opinion.
Good morning, NST!
Today, I’m wearing Jubilation 25 for the second day in a row. I purchased the Amouage women’s discovery set a couple of years ago, and every now and again I dig it out to see if anything I didn’t love before has grown on me. I used to be very very freaked out by Jubilation. As in: Get rid of it now! But today, I’m so head over heels in love with this beauty that it almost hurts. My husband came sniffing at me this morning. “You smell sexy,” he told me. And I have to say, I really really do.
Jub 25 is gorgeous and sexy.
Yes, incredibly gorgeous and sexy, my husband thinks so too!
A full bottle is in my future.
I always hesitate to give things away for that reason, although I liked J25 off the bat. I think its a stunner. And a bonus that your husband likes it, too!
So true. The phenomenon does make a great case for hoarding samples. I have piles of “No thanks, but I might love it someday” perfume samples tucked away.
Profumi del Forte by Tirrenico today. I get the marine, the fresh, aquatic… I am not sure of the citrus the review talks about. Most of my few citrus scents are very obvious and this one is not. I think of it as an understated summer scent, wishful thinking as it is only Feb. 27th.
I am wishing along with you! At least we’ve got sun.
SOTD a dab of FM Lipstick Rose body butter on my wrist. Greedily reading about the new iris hand cream had me remember that I had a body cream sample tucked away untried. Verdict: I really like this- a lot more than the liquid perfume version.
Aha! Is the body cream less powdery?
Great choice. Although I am not a fan of Lipstick Rose, I am a huge fan of FM’s body butters
– the quality is beyond belief.
I’m wearing the dreaded Guerlain Mahora. I guess I kinda like it — it’s tropical and big and white and floral and it certainly cheers me up. There is however, that very odd greenish note there. Overall I think it’s very Guerlain.
Mahora is one that has kind of grown on me. The newer version, Mayotte, is supposed to be the same but to my nose, it seemed to smooth out that odd greenish note a bit. I didn’t like Mahora at first but I really love both versions now. Hope it grows on you, too. Happy Monday!
I once blind-bought a mini of Mahora on ebay and quite enjoyed it until it had been on me all day, and an unpleasant metallic-chemical effect came up. It was especially weird because I have scent-eating skin and nothing, but nothing, lasts as long as the 9 hours I got out of Mahora. Another trial wearing got me the same weird I-smell-like-a-robot effect at about hour 8, so although I thought it didn’t deserve the P:TG hatred, I passed the mini on to someone else.
No idea what that was.
I like this one!
Sorry its “dreaded”! I enjoyed it!
Still waiting to try their new release….
SOTD: Infusions d’iris
Tea: black coffee – about to get second cup.
OOTD: flannel, jeans, and winter coat – in the office. It’s cold today.
Scent twin!
I guess I should have known by the way you parked your car sideways that it wouldn’t last…………
Spring why’d you leave after only 3 days?
I’m a suburban woman or her lunchtime lover, in Donna Karan Cashmere Mist EDP.

Triple strength coffee.
Carpe Diem. Peace.
I listened to Little Red Corvette 3 times on the drive into work this morning. I always need Prince on Monday.
Wish I had some of your famous coffee.
Oh lor’ do I love that tune!
Nothing so far as I have a doctors appointment this morning, but L’Air de Rien is on standby in my purse. Thinking of comfort scents yesterday made me crave it.
That’s one of my top comfort scents, but I’m afraid to wear it out of the house since some people think it smells like dirty feet, or worse! But it makes a great bedtime scent for me.
I have a sample and on me it smells more like dirty hair than feet. But if I add a small spritz of jasmine (I think I tried SL a la nuit) it’s beautiful.
Yes, something dirty. I actually don’t register that. On me it smells like dusty, old books. A little musty. I’ve tried it with jasmine on a rec from I think it was Sajini (?) who loved the combo, too. It was nice-I think I used the Diptyque Jasmin.
Yes that’s probably where I got the idea.
I’m working on getting over my insecurities about perfume. I figure, if I like it I can probably wear it as long as I don’t overdo. People who think that musk smells awful probably think I’ve been rolling in crap, but I try not to worry. I adore dirty musks and the weirder animalics.
Working in a veterinary office is helping some. It smells like anxious animals and those Scentsy things so even my barnyardiest perfumes fly under the radar. It’s the floral stuff that might be a problem at work since everyone is in their twenties and anything perfume-y smells like “old lady”
That’s a great place to wear the “dirtier” scents. The animals will always be suspected first. Yeah, I’m still a little self-conscious with regards to wearing polarizing scents in public, even though I’m not a heavy applier for the most part.
That one is my no. 1 comfort scent. So lovely.
I love those photos – I had to look them up to check it really was the lovelies Liz and Bowie!
Chanel Cuir de Russie (dab of extrait and some EDT) for me today.
You smell gorgeous!
Thank you! And so do you. I love Luca Turin’s take on Jub 25 – as if Catherine Deneuve suddenly started speaking perfect Arabic
Ha! I haven’t read it. I’ll have to go find it. (And thank you, too. ????)
I looked it up too! What a gorgeous series of photos. And two dynamos – I’m surprised the camera didn’t explode from awesomeness.
????
The cold weather is (temporarily) back here in my neck of the woods, so Shaal Nur for me today. Something about lemon and incense together makes me think of a warm, cozy chapel near where I used to live. The scent of the candles had permeated the wood paneling and there was always a faint hint of lemon polish hanging in the air early in morning as well.
Interesting-I always wear SN in the summer but I’ll have to try it in cold weather and see if I get the coziness.
I love Shaal Nur year round. It’s refreshing in the summer but somehow both clean and cozy in winter.
Oh yum, I have to pull out the Shaal Nur this week!
This is such a nice choice. I like Shaal Nur, but I always thought of it as summer scent (just like bastet said). Need to try it in the winter weather.
Sun’s out! It’s mid-afternoon here and I am more than happy with today’s choice good old Eau Sauvage EdT!
You smell perfect.
Just arrived in a beachfront apartment in Málaga and starting a week of weird scents. SOTD is Pierre Guillaume Collection Croisière “Métal Hurlant”. Notes are leather and musk. Actually smells like petrol, and I like it. The name means howling metal and it’s meant to represent a motorbike ride. :^)
My son likes the smell of gasoline.
There are a few of us weirdos about. :^)
I hate you.
JK, enjoy !!!
And have a drink on the beach for me!
Haters gonna hate. :^)
It’s a nice break from the umpteenth cold gray day in the English Midlands. From next week I’ll be kissing goodbye to any work life balance for a few weeks, so this is the calm before the storm. I wonder what the Spanish for triple-strength coffee is?
Enjoy the time in Malaga. I’d love to try your SOTD – it sounds right up my alley.
Thanks! Leather is usually just ugh on my skin, so this is a fun surprise. Not sure I need more than a day of it through – it’s a bit linear and TOMK doesn’t care for it.
Malaga. How marvelous. Enjoy it for the rest of us.
My limited French language skills fail me as I read “hurlant” as “hurling” rather than “howling.” But both sound rather dangerous.
That’s what I thought too. Especially as most of the perfumes reference ocean liners or air travel. But it turns out it’s screaming or howling (and to my mind out of step with the other themes).
Metal Hurlant was also the name of a Science Fiction magazine where graphic artists like Moebius started out (I learned today from a Fragrantica review. I haven’t done a fact check, so don’t bet your life’s savings on it).
That sounds like quite the interesting scent. Also, a week of weird fragrances whilst on vacation sounds quite nice!
Grey sky. Lots of rain. And a neverending to-do-list at work. Argh.
SOTD: vetiver extraordinaire (FM), from a sample
A beautiful modern vetiver. It has an uplifiting freshness. Suitable for office wear as well, i guess, projection is modest.
Oh and it sure is NOT a freaky or odd scent by the way (on the contrary)!
So not with the theme today. And I am really thinking hard right now what scents are odd / weird to my nose…
I know, me too, Jiji. If they are weird, they typically don’t make it home with me. But I am taking notes this week…
Not up for weird yet on this Monday morning so I just went with something pretty-Aftelier Palimpsest.
I’m in Dior Home today, and not looking forward to a Monday at work. Ah well.
Dior Homme is perfect for a Monday at work. You smell divine.
You smell great!
Bit of a queasy tummy today, or I’d be wearing Memoir Woman, which I *love* but which I also find really weird.
I have to take the hubs’ car in for a desperately-needed oil change despite the faint quease. Yikes. Wearing Teo Cabanel Early Roses.
Hope the queasy passes!
Feel better soon!
Hi mals, I’ve just read you’re review of Memoir, it is a wonderful review, I will definitely try it soon! I love Epic woman & Jub 25, both of which I find quite ‘weird’, tho in different ways.
Thanks! I didn’t get on with Epic or Jub 25 myself, but I think that’s me and not them.
It’s me, too. Both were big mistakes on me.
Ick. Sorry to hear about a queasy stomach… that can be the worst when you have Stuff! to get done.
Hope you’re feeling better!
I love those photos.
A bit tired today as I managed to stay up til the end of the Oscars. Wow, was that cringe-worthy! I’m glad Moonlight won and the La La Land crew handled it pretty gracefully, I thought.
SOTD Cuir de Lancome which I’d been wearing most of the weekend. I’m really loving this lately. I need to explore more leathers which is a note that’s still challenging for me. I guess CdL is leather lite. For me it’s more about the creamy saffron.
I fell asleep at 11..I couldn’t make it till the end
We had a few people over to watch, so the clean-up helped me make it to the end. Otherwise I would have been a gonner.
Mmm. You smell beautiful! I tip-toed into leathers with CdL, too. It was my first. But now some leathers that once didn’t appeal to me at all are my very favorites. It’s fascinating how our noses can change so much. Who knows? In a couple of years (or days, or decades), leather could wind up your favorite note. Or not.
My first, and I think my only other one, was Bottega Veneta. What are some of your other favorites?
Cuir de Russie and TDC’s Adjatay are two big loves for me. And there was a time when I found both repulsive. I love Bottega Veneta, too, though I think I prefer BV Eau Legere.
I should have kept my Cuir de Russie sample. I didn’t like it when I tried it a few years ago, but I suspect I might like it more now. I smelled Adjatay on paper only-it didn’t register as leather, but something sweet gourmandy(?). Need to retry. Thanks for your input!
Hajusuuri described CdR best IMO, poopie-leather. ???? I have a tiny bit of the extrait. Maybe the EDT and EDP are milder and less of that strong leather note? I still prefer CdL and BV.
Ha! Right. It had a good dose of horse stable in there. And that was the EDT.
Thanks! I was curious.
I have both the extrait and the EDT of CdR, and on me the EDT definitely has the stronger leather note. The extrait has much more of the pillowy soft orris.
Wow! I guess that I probably won’t ever appreciate CdR as it deserves. The barnyard note is very strong on my skin. Of course, my family and friends find Beloved animalic so I can’t imagine wearing the Chanel.
…and I still haven’t come around to liking it, yet. Every Les Ecxlusifs perfume gets unlimited chances.
1) That was AWKWARD AF!
2) You smell wonderful, and I really wish I had a back up bottle of CdL!
Seriously.
And I think I might need to hunt down a bottle, myself.
I would also recommend French Leather by Memo.
I don’t think I’ve tried that one. I think I tried Italian Leather and African Leather which was too mentholated for me.
I think the newest one is Russian leather, and I liked it too,
Yes I watched as well and it was indeed cringe-worthy! I loved La La Land- I thought it was beautiful- but Moonlight looked amazing as well so I’d love to see if.
I’m wearing Panorama — very odd indeed!
some parts of that one remind me of le labo scent…have to find that one
found it..Gaiac 10 it reminds me of panorama
Happy Monday everyone! I am in Nicolai Amber Oud. I am not lucky with this one. Since I dabbed it from a sample very early this morning the only note that I get is lavender. A very sharp, brisk and very clean lavender more on the masculine side. According to reviews the drydown is supposed to be creamy and kind of gourmand, but it never developed on me. What I applied on skin is gone by now, but the two dabs on my sweater are very annoying, since it has an amazing longevity on clothes and the sillage is more than expected. I will survive… and money saved
Anosmic to the musk, maybe?
That’s what I think. I could not be more appropriate on Anosmia Awareness day.
Starting Weird Week with a hot take – Shalimar. If this were released today I’d be like whoa. So today I am also like whoa.
This made me laugh.
Ha! I’m always amazed by how vomplex it is, every time I wear it. You smell amazing.
“Vomplex”! How brilliant!! Or was that a fat-fingers thing?…
Truth to tell, I do really like Shalimar now, but when I was much younger I didn’t get it at all.
Ha! I didn’t notice my typo. And apt because the opening of Shalimar used to smell like vomit to me! Still does, actually.
Vomplex is totally in the lexicon now.
whoa!
I’m being freaky today by smelling like a tomato plant, wearing Demeter’s oh-so-accurate Tomato.
I remember the first time I smelled that and being blown away-one of the first non-perfumy perfumes I think I ever smelled.
You smell great! I love to layer that one with Dirt.
Lovely! I used to have Demeter Beetroot and it was also a bit freaky in that the scent was so spot on. Smelled exactly like a beet pulled directly out of the ground, with damp earth still clinging to it.
I know Robin had that one and mentioned it quite often in the past, but it’s not one I’ve tried. Some of Demeter’s scents are almost photo-realistic.
I’m wearing Stash also! I have two big exams today and I hope that I do well so this scent doesn’t end up ruined for me by getting linked with sadness. I’ve studied hard so here’s hoping Stash=success!!
Good luck! You’ll do great.
Best of luck to you!
Good luck!
Hey twin, and break a leg!
Happy Monday, everyone!
1) Everyone, get rid of your vanity and get your eyes checked- and if necessary WEAR YOUR READING GLASSES. Like, OMG!
2) ANYWAYS, Am in the unweird Infusion d’Iris. Spring is 3 weeks away BUT am needing something fresh NOW.
you lost in with #1 and I am putting #2 on my to try list
Your #1 sounds like a story I haven’t heard yet…
I totally forgot the theme and am wearing Hiris. I guess the opening is a little weird, maybe? (Stretching a little…) Have a great week!
Yes, I think Hiris smells a bit weird, especially in the opening. That’s why I like it.
It’s my last entry into a month of roses – I’m wearing VC&A Rose Velours
Ahh Rose velour’s is lovely!
Eau des Merveilles. The sun is out and I am on vacation, it’s going to be a good week!????
Lucky you! And perfect scent for it.
Cold and very wet and windy here today, Silver Iris always works well for me in this kind of weather, and I find the opening notes really delightful, so I reapplied this afternoon for the school run!
Couldn’t do weird this morning, so went with tried-and-true Safron Troublant.
Lovely!
Hey Twin!;
SOTD = La Fille de Berlin. This is lovely, not a bit weird.
Oh, Serge, another one of yours goes on the at-least-a-decant-please list.
Staring at my gift card balance on my Amazon account. Feeling a little spendy and trying to figure out how not to spend over the $80 on my account. Wearing Vanille Absolument today, wishing that it wasn’t discontinued. I’m also wondering if the Lilydirect website is legit because they are selling bottles of it. I don’t want to put my credit card at risk.
I bought a perfume from them for a birthday present last month and it arrived safely. I know the perfume was original since the recipient has worn it for many years and she is very happy.
Lilydirect is safe, ordered from them several times.
They are legit.
Pouring in San Diego today and I am in La Chasse aux Papillons…
I like this one but sometimes I do think dryer sheets/fabric softener when I’m wearing it…
Pouring rain in San Diego. Continuing my rose patchouli kick with Gris Montaigne.
Nothing weird for me today. I’m wearing Coco. I really needed to feel professional and put together today.
Mission accomplished, then, with your scent! ????
Welp, I wasn’t planning on letting my freak flag fly just yet, but I pulled out my sample of Kimonanthe for the first time and it’s pretty weird on me. First of all, it’s HUGE. I hated the opening, but re-read Kevin’s review and decided to hang in there. It’s somewhat tamer 5 hours later, and I can imagine it might smell good on a man. It’s got that sorta oldschool medicinal vibe like Dr. Pepper or cola syrup (or prunes?), a gigundo osmanthus and some skunky leather. Sadly, all I can think of is Dr. Bonkers Stupendous Snake Oil.
It is weird. I got that medicinal open, and then it shifted to the ‘candied apricot and spices’ they describe on their website. Meaning, Yankee Candle Christmas scent, to me. Ick.
Gigundo osmanthus. You’re cracking me up with this.
Freaky fragrance would be a challenge for me, might have to sit that one out.
SOTD – Larmes du Desert by Atelier des Ors. Enjoying the end of rain and some sun in California
I went with sunny and pretty today rather than freakstyle: Lys Mediterranee. With the furnace running, I can almost imagine myself in summer.
I’m wearing MAAI this morning. I don’t think it’s freaky but it’s hitting the spot today.
Some Oscars, huh? I was in the bathroom when I heard the living room erupt. And my picks–I was 12/24. Probably would have done better if I had just stuck a pin in the list blindfolded.
Good evening everyone!
I have been wearing ROMA by Laura Biagiotti.
This is a very warm, balsamic, floriental with a definite Italian feel.
I find it quite addictive and atmospheric.
I love Roma, I might just wear it tomorrow.
Ah ROMA! I had a mini of it when I was a teenager and loved it, but never bought a full bottle.
Does anyone know if the current formulation smells as good/the same as the old one (was probably late 80s/ early 90s version I had)?
Testing out new Coromandel EdP from my Personal Chanel Counter vs old (dunno what vintage) Coromandel EdT. I figure this is as freaky as Chanel gets.
So far, the new version is softer, gentler, rounder (if that makes any sense), and the patchouli is considerably less funky, though it’s not funk-free. The two scents are clearly related but quite different. Coromandel has never been my favorite LE – sometimes that white chocolate note jumps out, and I haaaaaaate white chocolate – so the new version is working better for me. Still not likely to make it to my to-buy list.
We finally got power back on Saturday evening. 5 days! I am so ready for this winter to be o-v-e-r. No rain in the forecast for this week, yay!
I really prefer Coromandel during the summer. It smells more incensey when it’s hot.
Sniffed my edt this morning and got lots of white chocolate and dirt. No. Decided to go with Gris Montaigne instead. Not sure how this is going to work out with me and Coromandel.
Power, yay!
No weirdness just early spring loveliness. Penhaligon’s Ostara, smelling like my favourite flowers.
I put Ostara front and center on my dressing table today. The perfect day to wear it is coming, I just know it will.
I wore Ostara yesterday. I was hoping it would command Spring to arrive

Especialy the first 2 hours are a so good!
But sometimes it turns weirdly sweet on my skin. A bit cloying
My mistake of course, I had only sampled it once when I decided to buy a whole bottle (“But it was on discount!”). I’ll try one spray less next time, maybe that helps…
I have to admit that my original manufacturer sample, which caused me to buy that discount bottle of Ostara, smells different than the bottle I bought – and the sample suits me better than the bottle.
I wear Ostara less than I had thought I would, because it’s really not the same, to my nose.
Oh, I had a manufacturer sample as well.
I never compared the sample to the juice from the bottle, but that’s what I am going to do sometime soon!
Oh, I love Ostara precisely because it never smells sweet at all. It’s one of the only florals I wear precisely because of that. Skin chemistry is such a funny thing sometimes.
Good to hear this scent works for lots of people!
The greennes in the opening is fab!
I dont mind sweet actually. But this kind of sweetness is uncomfortable. I suspect my skin and/or my nose have problems with certain kinds of vanilla-like scents. Black from Bvlgari turns a bit messy on my skin after 3 hours as well. On my husband it smells better.
The fingerless mitts I’m wearing today are red in support of Anosmia Awareness Day.
Didn’t apply scent this morning but am enjoying wisps of last evening’s Chanel No. 5 edp. My sweater bears remnants of Eau des Merveilles, Voleur de Roses, and cedar chest. Sadly, this morning I tried a new hairspray that reeks of something odd. Peony? Orchid? I will wash my hair today.
I like the story behind those photos:
http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/fash-track/flashback-friday-liz-bowie-share-430511
Ugh, I *hate* bad/overpowering hair product fragrances!
Yes, any hair/body product with an overpowering scent – especially when it lingers – is extremely annoying. This is why I don’t use fragranced hand lotion.
Overpowering, yes, that’s what surprised me about that hairspray. I felt like someone was following me around with a Glade plug in air freshener for a few hours this morning. I can laugh now.
My usual hairspray was out of stock so I grabbed another. Phooey.
I bought some Final Net at the grocery store today, at least I know that one simply smells like what it is.
Well, that makes for quite a day: Elizabeth Taylor, polar bears, and anosmia.
I’m in Fracas, so take that, Monday!
???? Go get ’em tiger!
I chose it as a general anti-Monday apotropaic, rather than in anticipation of anything specific, but yeah! ????
We need a perfume called “Apotropaic” for Monday or any day.
Totes! (Now we just sit back and wait to see if some nose somewhere takes the idea and runs with it…)
Fracas always wins!
If there were a Bible of perfumistahood, that would surely be one of the most important verses. ????
I’m afraid to wear Fracas! More for you!
Well, I only wear a little. Apply too much Fracas, and you jump all the way past ‘BWF’ to ‘WMD’!
LOL!
Wearing SL Rose de Nuit. Not my favorite rose, but still nice. One thing I wanted to mention is that I used samples I received of Moroccanoil Fleur de Rose shampoo and conditioner over the weekend. They really smell like roses! as in–expensive rose perfume shampoo and conditioner. Heavenly. I was quite surprised and delighted.
Ooh! That sounds delightful. I’ll have to look that one up.
I love Rose de Nuit, you smell wonderful. Those hair products sound good too.
You smell fantastic! Luckily, on me RdN smells like Rochas Femme + rose, and the rose fades away. So money saved–at least until the day a bell jar falls into my lap or costs the same as Femme. I’m not holding my breath for either. ???? I’m sure it’s different (and likely better) sprayed rather than dabbed from a sample like mine, but I’m going to stick with that idea for the sake of my wallet.
Today I’m wearing Sweet Anthem Margaret. There were two inches of snow on my car this morning; I live in Seattle and I’m dying for spring. Margaret is a lush rose with just a hint of sweet fruitiness from guava and it makes me think of springtime. Wouldn’t have thought this combo would work well, but it does!
I’m also in Seattle and it snowed where I live this afternoon. I was lost in some reading, looked up, and everything was white with huge flakes coming down. This has been just about the coldest, longest, most miserable winter I can remember. ENOUGH ALREADY.
I’m wearing the not-terribly-freaky Calyx today. I couldn’t sleep last night so I thought wearing something bright would help me stay awake.
Wearing the non-freaky Safron Troublant. Mondays require comfort over weirdness.
lovely.
–Waving back at you–
Actually, my experience so far with Safran Troublant has been decidedly freaky: I smell like curry to myself. ????
That doesn’t sound appealing. Can’t win them all.
Ninth & final day for a while I’m in Privet Bloom. Currently at Houston’s IAH airport waiting to board my flight home – connecting flight due to arrive in Aberdeen 11:am tomorrow morning. sad to leave family & friends here, but looking forward to getting home now I’m actually on my way, despite weather forecast!
Safe travels!
Nothing weird for me today. Drained my sample of Dame Sky Father. Probably need more!
Today’s SOTD is not what I had originally planned to wear, but this sample of Tauer Incense Rose demanded that I try it today. Today is the very first time I have tried anything from this house. Getting plenty of incense, not so much rose. More like dried rose petals and a whiff of artisanal root beer along with the resins. Rather complicated stuff, and definitely not for beginners, IMO. Thank you, Hajusuuri, for the sample and its associated experience.
Twins! I did not get root beer but I see how my Alien = Root Beer association stuck!
That could very well be! Incense Rose was/is a wild ride for me… I had an immediate sensation of being transported to the Desert Southwest (US) when I sprayed it. Never had that happen before, a perfume take me to another part of the world.
I love that pic of Liz with Bowie!
My SOTD is a very strange one…I LOOOVED it when I bought it plus two backups-yes 2 backups on the same day!!Lol.But after joining the gym and having had some awesome bootcamp training sessions,it is all that it reminds me of everytime a sniff myself:Wet jocks, wetTER jock-straps,wet towels wet floors, the wet mops for aftercleaning showers after wet washing showers….all of that in clouds of cleaning product+ Axe Apollo or some other ghastly youth-appointed freshness…Tooo much tooo clean for me,with a remnant of some unclean hiding somewhere in the bushes….Lol.The frag in question:Le Beau Male…..alas!I love you,but your ususal surroundings make my know curl up,highly confused!!
SOTD: L’Heure Bleue. I had lunch with two of my oldest friends (as in friends for a loooong time) so went with something pretty.
Gorgeous!
Heading up a conference so in my fav power woman scent- Shalimar. I have to wear it once a week or I miss it and it’s always good on a day I want built in confidence. It’s Monday- let’s tackle the week NSTers!
I should have gone freaky today since I’m not at work today, but after the Oscar party we had last night, needed the serenity of good ol’ Chanel 19.
For the past three days I’ve been doing my Ancient Resins+ Dries combo. Freakish, no? Maybe I could be a signature kind of person.
Except my little decants of AR and Dries are depleting quickly, not to be refilled until my trip to the States next month, and what about the other loves?
That sounds good, need to try that combo!
Continuing my Month of Roses —
SOTD = Tauer Incense Rose
Like, not love. There’s something about this that is persistent and will not let go! It could be the vetiver incense woody combo – who knows?
Smelled in the wild today:
A walking half bottle of Terre d’Hermes. I walked past this guy on 5th Avenue who must have dumped a half bottle of TdH all over his body and soaked through his clothes!
I had a great time with Jalapeno yesterday. We just hit it off as if we knew each other forever!
Hello, scent twin! Yesterday was loads of fun. We ought to do it again sometime. Maybe NYC?
Absolutely! And I can try to get others for the meet-up!
Sure!
Oof, that’s a lot of Terre d’Hermes!
We’re having thundersnow and sleet and general disgustingness so I’m wearing L’eau Scandaleuse, a cashmere sweater dress ($40 off-season clearance at a thrift store, one of my best-ever finds) and thick squishy wool thigh-highs. 100% sweater coverage is the only way to survive winter in the PNW if you’re anything like me.
Wow, thundersnow?? That’s wild and weird. Where are you at?
I am not sure where tracy.o is located exactly, but we had the thundersnow in Seattle. I didn’t get to see any of the lightning because I was in the office turned away from the window. Definitely a weird weather day plus a crazy commute because a petroleum truck crashed with two cars and is on its side on I-5.
Also in the PacNW and I discovered sweater dresses a few years ago – they are a game-changer. I also discovered fleece-lined tights, which are just as warm as most any pant. Fleece-lined tights, sweater dress, sweater coat, and boots is pretty much my uniform for going out at night. But sweater dresses also work with skinny jeans or high-waisted slim trousers, which makes them super versatile.
Late today! Water got cut all over the city today because heavy rains in the mountains caused flooding. So needed something refreshing so Jour de Hermes it was and is
Wearing Insolence today. My FIL had surgery today and is expected to be in the hospital for 5 days at least. The last time I wore Insolence he told me I smelled great. Waiting patiently for an update on him.
Fingers crossed that you get good news!
Thank you! He’s just the best guy and always makes everyone feel welcome.
I hope that your father-in-laws has a quick recovery.
Thank you Petunia! He’s an awesome guy. When we still had our beloved cat Buster, Johnny came to our place to stay and look after him so we could go on our trip. Why do cats decide to be in a fight at such opportune times? Buster ended up at the vet and came home with a cone around his neck and a prescription to take. Johnny gave Buster his pills and they bonded for the week while we enjoyed beautiful Hawaii.
