Posted by Robin on 9 February 2017 19 Comments

Boucheron La Collection de Parfums

Boucheron will launch La Collection, a new luxury collection inspired by the Boucheron heritage and the worldwide hunt for gemstones. The six fragrances are Ambre D'Alexandrie, Iris de Syracuse, Néroli D'Ispahan, Oud de Carthage, Tubéreuse De Madras and Vanille de Zanzibar.

Ambre D'Alexandrie ~ an oriental with notes of vanilla, benzoin, amber, ambergris and musk.

Iris de Syracuse ~ a floral iris with mandarin, pear, black pepper and white musk.

Néroli D'Ispahan ~ with neroli, green cardamom, ginger, pink pepper and ambrox.

Oud de Carthage ~ a leather oriental with incense, honey, labdanum, tonka bean, oud and leather.

Tubéreuse De Madras ~ a white floral with orange blossom, violet leaf, tuberose and passionfruit.

Vanille de Zanzibar ~ a woody oriental with mandarin, jasmine, heliotrope, milky caramel, honey, tobacco, amber and musk.

Boucheron Ambre D'Alexandrie, Iris de Syracuse, Néroli D'Ispahan, Oud de Carthage, Tubéreuse De Madras and Vanille de Zanzibar will be £175 each, Eau de Parfum, size unknown.

Me really hopes to see these in the US. The Vanille, Tubéreuse, and Iris are calling my name! ^_^

I have seen nothing yet about the distribution, but would think Neiman Marcus would be a good possibility.

They sound pretty good a I am hopeful. I wore original Boucheron cheerfully. I have been thinking maybe I should get more of that, but maybe I will try some of these instead..

Wow! Luxury-priced perfumes based on a single note. I’m loving that concept! How come no one thought of that before?

But seriously my first thought was ‘haven’t they done this line before?’ I have a hard time telling them all apart. Oh dear, I was going to write something about how I’ve enjoyed earlier Bvlgari fragrances but now I see it’s Boucheron.

Seriously, so much new here that it’s hard to process.

I am inclined to ignore multiple releases. Too much temptation to do one spritz of each and see how they smell as one thing….

I love your sarcastic remarks !
But like Rose Bertin, Marie – Antoinette’s dressmaker once said : There is nothing new except what has been forgotten.

There is, unfortunately, no way to edit your comments once you’ve made them. If you’ve ever accidentally posted something private that must be deleted, you can email me and I will fix it, and since I am already here I will remove the ‘for’, but usually people just post their corrections in another comment, just as you did 🙂

Yeah, so gutsy, hope people will understand what they are trying to convey. And what, there is an Oud frag?! What’s this, some new exotic material? (Now, seriously, an amber AND a vanilla and no vetiver!! Nah.)

Oud of Carthage? Oy. That’s like Roses of the Rainforest.

The bottles are ugly. They look like cough syrup to me — one color for each day of the week except Sunday because you’ll be cured by then or you can rely on divine intervention instead.

I am tremendously bored by these insta-launches of 6-10-12 new scents with rainbow coloured liquids and checking off category boxes: vanilla, iris, leather, tuberose, etc.

I enjoyed the original Boucheron very much. It smelled terrific on me. Unfortunately, the later releases were a let down & the original is now dated in my mind. I’m always hoping the house will introduce a fragrance and bring back the excitement it once had.
