Palettes for the Senses: Art + Scent Demystified ~ exhibit

Posted by Robin on 2 February 2017 1 Comment

Indigo Perfumery and Hedge Gallery in Cleveland Ohio will present Palettes for the Senses: Art + Scent Demystified:

The cross-disciplinary exhibition offers a unique opportunity to experience the world of art through the curatorial lens of scent. Palettes for the Senses will present eleven art installations, paintings, and multi media pieces created by Hedge-represented artists from an olfactory viewpoint. This immersive experience will transcend sensory borders while exploring scent as a creative but unseen medium.

Guests will visit a series of smelling and viewing stations. Each piece of art will be accompanied by glass domes that are lifted to sniff the fragrances, allowing viewers to investigate the visual art while experiencing an olfactory interpretation, highlighting the awareness of scent and its increasing presence as a design element.

A perfume lab in the gallery will bring to life the process of creating a fragrance.

HEDGE Gallery artists represented are Rebecca Cross, Matthew Gallagher, Meghann Hennen, Christopher Kier, David Masters, Liz Maugans, Brian Mouhlas, Jessica Pinsky, Katy Richards, Dott von Schneider and Nikki Woods.

The exhibit runs from February 17 through March 3; for more information see the Hedge Gallery or Indigo Perfumery websites. A Preview Event on Thursday, February 9 from 6:30-9 is $15 per ticket and includes appetizers by Luxe Kitchen and Lounge plus infusion cocktails by Erin McCardle.
