Happy Almost-Friday! What fragrance are you wearing?
I'm wearing Dries Van Noten par Frédéric Malle. It's a perfect no brainer, but since I don't own it, I don't wear it all that often.
Reminder: 11/18 will be No Brainer Friday — wear one of your seasonal "no brainer / go to" fragrances. Thanks to SheriG for the suggestion!
And for those of you who like to plan ahead, see Scent of the day ~ Friday community projects 2016, where I'll try to always have the next five or six weeks mapped out in advance.
Note: top image via Dries Van Noten at Facebook.
Patou Pour Homme (vintage). Not exactly a no-brainer, but this was my signature scent back in the day.
So it was once your no-brainer 🙂
SOTD: Lancome Fleches. It is a green chypre with vanilla, anise and lots of floral notes. This one is kind a of a full-brainer, but I have a quiet day in the office to appreciate it.
I am drinking a mug of MF American Breakfast Tea with a splash of almond milk.
That sounds lovely. Wish Lancome would release more of their oldies, even if only as LEs.
The fourth no brainer of the week is one of my favourites. I’m proud to be a fully paid up, flag waving, card carrying member of the NST Safran Troublant Swooners Club! God, it’s good…
One of my favorites for sure. You smell so good!
Twins. It’s beautiful.
Triplets. Love it but just wish it lasted longer on me.
I keep hearing such wonderful things about this one – I must move it up on my to try list
It is a no brainer. I wore it to a play last night and was enjoying my own wafting. You smell great!
Encens et Lavande by Lutens today.
I smell as if I should be draped in swirling mist and dove grey.
No brainer indeed.
I love Encens et Lavande, you smell lovely
Gorgeous!
Calm in a bottle. You smell great.
Perfect description.
One of two Serge Lutens I can wear. It is really beautiful.
I had forgotten about this wonderful perfume!! Now I am hankering to try it again, it is so lovely 🙂
I am wearing Guerlain SDV, vanilla scents are no brainers for me and this one is one of the best.
I adore SDV! I missed the TPC pre holiday sale, so a decant is sitting in my shopping cart until the next sale.
ha! me too on the vanillas being no brainers….have you tried Dame Perfumery’s Black Flower Mexican Vanilla ?….another great vanilla that is highly affordable….
I haven’t tried it, goes to my to try list. Thanks
Yes!! You smell amazing
Rochas Femme. I’m loving this week’s theme!
And I love Femme!
You smell great!
Twins, Robin! So comforting. I know it doesn’t smell like almonds, but I think DvN is the emotional perfume equivalent of candied almonds. In fact, I think I will spray some more of it on now.
Hey twin! Don’t we smell lovely?
I am in Tauer’s Rose Body oil, I always forget the name..Rose Delight maybe
Sencha tea
Guess we’re tea twins today! 🙂
Today I’m testing Anyway by Juliette Has a Gun – a near-perfect balance of amber, musk and citrus! It smells good, but not exceptional. I’ve always thought DvN smelled like waffles and biscuits :3
I would not mind if the waffles & biscuits were a little stronger, but then I guess it would be less of a no-brainer.
SOTD is Parfumes de Nicolai Ambre Cashmere Intense. Citrusy opening that turns into a creamy iris and spicy cloves. The drydown is a smoky vanilla. Very nice amber fragrance. It reminds me for moments of L’Ambre des Marveilles. Good longevity.
Twins!
Great choice!
Safari isn’t quite a no-brainer. I almost wore Youth Dew, but I couldn’t quite manage it in 80 degree weather. Safari was in the same basket, so I grabbed it.
Gorgeous!
beautiful!
Safari’s a no-brainer for me now. 🙂
In L’ Artisan’s Safran Troublant today. Had a bottle for well over a year and stashed it when it arrived (blind buy) and today is the first wearing. Very light, sugared rose, with saffron, sandalwood and a tiny bit of vanilla. I hear there’s also some ginger. I don’t sense any but I’m enjoying it immensely just the same.
Rose and saffron are a match made in scent heaven. Great perfume, this one 🙂
Do you know if there is cumin in this one? I remember trying it years ago and not caring for it and I thought I sniffed cumin (which does not work for me at all……except in the original Gucci….the dark juice)…yet, it seems to get a lot of love here and the description sounds so lovely….
I don’t think I’ve ever noticed seeing cumin in the list of notes anywhere but who’s to say? I think it may be the slightly medicinal aspect of saffron that may not agree with you.
Was just about to say the same thing as sayitisntso. Saffron does have a leathery facet to it, so maybe that’s what you’re picking up?
No cumin to my nose and I can generally smell even minute amounts unless it’s muted out by heavy patchouli, incense, leather.
Wearing Kalemat to drown out some unwanted scents in my brain.
I went to Nordstrom Rack yesterday and couldn’t resist buying a small bottle of L’AP L’eau D’ambre Extrême for $20. Turns out I should have resisted it because I ended up *really* not liking it. After sampling something else and realizing I didn’t have the stomach for something new today, I went with a trusted, reliable option. I’m sure that meets some definition of “no-brainer”! 🙂
You smell wonderful. I love that one.
Hm, that said, despite trying to remove it, Atelier Philtre Ceylan is peaking out underneath Kalemat, and they smell quite good together
SOTD is MFK Amyris Femme. I find it quiety intriguing.
L’Air de Rien today, layered over a tiny spritz of Rose En Noir.
Comforting and cosy, definitely.
You smell great!
L’Air de Rien was my no brainer earlier this week.
Such a lovely scent
u reminded me to wear it!
Not really a no-brainer, but it was the only sample left in my tin that didn’t scream summer time: Accord Oud from Byredo.
I had a sample of this a couple years ago and this was just a reminder of why it’s a nice scent, but definitely not FB worthy. It was a free sample this time that came with an order.
Lumiere Blanche is that overused but still chic cozy sweater that’s absorbed the fall scents from home.
I’m thinking a decant of this in a pretty atomizer might make a nice gift.
I’m wearing PdN Maharanih. I guess it’s a no-brainer because it doesn’t take much brain power to dip my hand in the untried sample box and spray the first thing that comes out.
into, not in
It’s a well-edited sample box that gives you Maharanih at random. You smell great! 🙂
🙂
This random selection process has given you a great, great scent.
I have never tried it before but I have to say I agree, I lucked out. Maybe I should buy a lottery ticket.
Oh, people, there’s something wrong with my nose this morning. I had a scrubber event with a fragrance that should NEVER have been a scrubber (and shall remain nameless this morning because it’s probably my nose’s fault). Even my coffee tastes different this morning. SOTD ended up being Guerlain Rose Barbare, which might be a no-brainer but I’m not sure yet because I’m still at the “I just met you” phase, spritzing from a sample sent by a very kind NSTer (thanks Laura!).
Oh, anything that makes your coffee taste wrong must have been awful!
Turns out it was a sign! The bottle of PG Cuir d’Iris that I ordered arrived in today’s mail – plus, a bunch of samples I ordered from Sonoma Scent Studio also came today. The universe was just trying to tell me to go commando because something new and exciting would be waiting for me later. 🙂
Ooh lovely, enjoy you’re new bottle, and lovely samples, I wish SSS was available here tho (UK) so many lovely autumn/winter options.
Looking forward to seeing what u chose for tomorrow. I’ve not tried PG Cuir de Iris, but sounds like it could be a no brainier!
SOTD is Myrrhe Ardente. Body cream and edp, because I’m worth it.
Tea is Betjeman and Barton’s Paris s’éveille.
SOTD is Yves Rocher Vanille Noir. It’s actually a comfort scent, not really noir at all. Its vanilla , but not sweet, more perfumey.
I have a mini of this and really enjoy it
Seville l’Aube because I wore it all summer and today feels so unseasonably warm, we’re having yet another Indian summer.
I’m kind of thinking that Seville l’Aube has become one of my deserted island scents.
I loathed this fragrance the first time I tried it. Now I have a full bottle! Don’t you love it when that happens?
Nice.
SOTD: L’eau d’Hiver
All-time no brainer. Definite comfort scent for me.
you smell wonderful!
Love it! Need to get another bottle.
SOTD is J’Adore L’absolu. Always works for me.
Work has been such a madhouse this week, I haven’t even had time to scan NST! Clearly my priorities are out of whack.
Hope work will calm down!
The all season all occasion all lovely no brainer for me is Dame Perfumery Bergamot, Jasmine and Labdanum…this one gets me the most compliments…..I sprayed lavishly this morning from that hefty and heavy gorgeous bottle and as soon as I got to work I got FOUR compliments….and the day is not over yet 🙂
Sounds nice! You had me at Labdanum, Le Labo’s is my all time favorite. I’m intrigued by Dame Perfumery, their prices seem so reasonable, will put this and BFMV on my to try list. Plus, hey, who doesn’t like a compliment!?
That one’s on my to-try list, so it’s nice to know it draws compliments!
Good morning Y’all…..1st day all week I’ve had a chance to think about perfume! 🙂
SOTD: Angel Innocent
Is it Friday yet?
It is here!
Yay! 🙂
Overslept this morning, but had an enjoyable night out yesterday at a Broadway production of A Fiddler on the Roof. Some much needed fun.
Chanel Egoiste today, which I think is my new favorite sandalwood.
Chanel Egoiste is gorgeous!
I’m late to the Egoiste love, but it really is, and very wearable.
After my great offense against the plumber, I’ve been a little perfume shy… lightly applying dry, incense and iris scents mostly… but last night I came back with a roar. My decant of Mary Greenwell’s Plum had arrived. And after two hours of feeling extremely self-satisfied with how fabulous I smelled, I was online ordering a full bottle from an obscure discount site. $55 for 3.4 oz. I plan to bathe in this over the top vavavoom floral chypre. My full bottle ban has come to this unexpected end… Plum, in all its outrageousness, will me MINE!
because of mals that one has been on my “to try” list for ages…nice to hear you enjoying it…
how did your son’s IEP meeting go?
Oh, email me your address and I’ll forward to you this decant once the bottle arrives (I know if I suspect it smells differently, I’ll want to compare it to the decant)! I’m at ann dotty eisenberg attagirl comcast dotty net.
IEP went well, so far. We didn’t get to recommendations and accommodations–the sticky issues. So another meeting is on the horizon. But my son’s dentist found something he didn’t like on his gums so Tues we were at the oral surgeon’s getting a biopsy… and I was reminded again, never take a break for granted.
But back to fragrance! This Plum makes me laugh. It is definitely designed for those who wear their perfume loud and proud.
LOL! I am always afraid to say that I am curious about something for fear that it is perceived as fishing for samples…..right now I am on a minimalist kick and am working towards downsizing all of my collections …my clothes and books have been taken care of and now I am working on my perfumes…..so nothing new is entering my house until I start to make a dent in my collection …but I truly do appreciate your incredibly generous offer :)….and happy to hear that the IEP meeting went better than you had originally expected…..
Yeah, I love me some Plum. 🙂 Glad you’re loving it!
Joining you in Plum. I followed up your mention of SSS the other day but have had trouble due to international shipping…but thanks for the tip off.
Has anyone ever tried the MG Lemon?
I haven’t. Plum is my first. What’s it like?
As for SSS… Hmmm… you are so far away from California…trying to think of potential mules….
It’s like a plum. But one that comes in a jar or tin rather than straight from a tree.
Don’t worry about SSS – I will just visualise it and it will turn up one day.
What is the obscure discount site, if you don’t mind my asking? Purely browsing, not buying of course 😉
So, I have no idea about this place. This will be my first order. It is called BloomingWay. Caveat emptor!
Keep us posted.
Today, I reactivated my Bark Box subscription and added having an extra toy in there for my two labs. It was a real hit with these guys, I just had to do it. Since someone mentioned SDV earlier, I am wearing that today. Guerlain has always known how to make a fabulous vanilla. I just wish that L’Artisan didn’t discontinue Havana Vanille.
I am still so surprised that HV didn’t sell.
Lancome Mille et Une Roses – didn’t enjoy this during the summer but now it’s gorgeous. I guess it will be my cool weather rose.
Was going to wear Dzing! but just didn’t feel it this morning.
I have no idea why but this smells like peach to me. No one else I know gets peach from it!
I mean the Lancolm.
I’m wearing Adam Levine for Her, a cheap thrill and celebrity scent…double whammy! It’s perfectly sweet, smooth and comforting on this chilly morning.
I have heard really good things about that one and it is ridiculously affordable 🙂
I own this too. Quite nice. You smell great!
It’s a steal!! Grab it if you come across it – and don’t let the cheesy microphone bottle sway you! 😉
In Cristalle, the no brainer to end all no brainers.
Okay…Can you put together a Chanel ‘No Brainer’ Top 5 please? Would love to find out.
Gidday, you there! I’m doing this to see if my Chanel no brainer listbis anything like Anniky’s (or anyone else’s for that matter).
In first place, 31 Rue Cambon. Elegant, but not over-dignified, equally happy in to jeans and a leather jacket or midnight blue sequins. Like a friend who is beautiful but not showy and conversible but never garrulous.
Second, Cristalle, because who doesn’t want to wrap themselves up in silver light?
In third equal, Bois des Iles and Coromandel. Both make big statements, although they talk about different things. Though they both have plenty to say, neither is ever loud.
Fifth, 19. I would once have placed this green, supple beauty higher, but I have had some Issues with her this year, and I am no longer quite so confident of her behaviour in public. Despite her occasional brattiness, however, she remains a favourite, at least in principle. Beautifully pulled together, she can be the perfect all-season, all-occasion companion who can cause the spine to stiffen and the chin to lift.
No no 22 🙁 ???
I love it and Beige, but maybe, at a pinch, could live with our them. The others seem essential, even the moody 19. Mind you, I’m perfectly happy to have seven scents in my top five. I find that does no violence whatever to my logic…
I adore No. 22. It is said to be the badder, sexier version of No. 5.
My only problem with Chanel is there longevity. I have Coromondel (patchouli addict) and Bel Respiro (beautiful and green for summer).
On my to buy list are Sycamore (heaven), Bois Des Isles and Cuir de Russie.
I tried to like Misia but could not get into it at all. Same goes for Beige and Jersey.
Years ago I wore a fragrance by Karl Lagerfeld called KL. When he joined Chanel the fragrance morphed into Coco.
Good list. And 7 is the new 5 anyway. Five for work days and 2 for weekends.
My Chanel No-Brainer Top 5:
1. 31 Rue Cambon
2. Bois des Iles
3. Cuir de Russie
4. Beige
5. Sycomore
I love many others, especially Misia and Coromandel, but I have to be in a certain mood for them. I can wear the Top Fives anytime.
Yep, that’s the thin, isn’t it? I love lots of others too, but these are my no-brainer Chanels. If I accidentally put one of these when I intended to apply a different one, it wouldn’t worry me. It’s not that they’re interchangeable, far from it, but they all have wonderful effects in their own way.
I’ll add my bid for Egoiste and echo Cristalle in any version.
Mine would be:
1. 31 Rue Cambon
2. Misia
3. Coromandel
4. Bois des Iles
5. One of the versions of Chanel #5 (Eau Premier or the new L’eau)
This would be very close to my list, with La Pausa subbing out for #5, but for me, heretically, no Chanel is a no brainer. I really have to be in the mood to be a Chanel lady. I put on Rue Cambon yesterday and it was just all wrong, alas.
I have to be in the mood, too. I wear Chanel a lot and find it to be by-and-large the most versatile perfume house, in that most work in just about any situation from morning ’til midnight. But I don’t think I’d put any in a no-brainer category. The ones that come closest for me are Cristalle Eau Verte in the summer, and No 5 EDP and N°19 Poudré the rest of the year.
I’m very mood-based, though, and not just with perfume so I may be a person who has very few no-brainers and even then, they’d be seasonal.
Truth.
SotD = a first sniff of Dzongkha
Cardamom, tea, and wood remind me of Voyage d’Hermes. The iris and incense are wafting nicely. And could this be my gateway leather? Time will tell.
I love both Dzongkha and Voyage, they obviously have something in common.
I have this coming to me tomorrow due to an enabler.
In the effortless Burberry Brit Rhythm layered over lavender lotion. It really is easy and pretty.
Oh, great layering idea!
Wearing TF Vert Boheme, which is a no-brainer in the sense of being the first decant I saw that was suitable for work.
Tobacco Rose. I never really want to reach for it first thing in the morning, but am always glad I did as soon as I step outside the house.
I love this perfume so much. It’s one of two or three that have made me start thinking about stock piling.
It really is special, isn’t it… I love the brand too.
I haven’t posted in a few days as I’ve been busy with work. Overtime and trying to get in extra hours this week so as to not use as much leave for Thanksgiving week. We’re going to Chicago to see my family. Yesterday I had an interview/practical exercise for a promotion that went swimmingly. I wore Misia in the EDT, which I find to be quite superior to the EDP. Today I’m wearing Angel Muse. I went all out last night and wore Angel body oil and sprayed Angel Muse on top.
Angel Muse is delicious, perfect for the “eating season” from Thanksgiving until the New Year.
sadly for me I could not get past the vetiver in that one…I doused myself in it in Sephora over the weekend and the vetiver made me not love it the way I had loved the original when it first came out….but the Universe is teaching me a lesson because I made my own hand cream to take to work and when I thought I was adding a ton of patchouli I accidentally added a ton of vetiver to an unscented lotion with bitter almond and peppermint oils….I made a large batch so it is going to last me a while….I guess I will be forced to become desensitized to an exhorbitant amount of vetiver!!!!
I am a vetiver addict along with patchouli. All I smell in Muse is sweetness which I just can’t get past. Pure vetiver essential oil is such a dry scent without any sweetness. It is an excellent oil to ground and stay focussed when things are getting a little frazzled. One drop in a bathtub at night is wonderful and peaceful.
Fingers crossed for the promotion! ;^)
thanks! 🙂
This was my worst fear about Misia. I should have bought a big bottle of the EDT! What’s the difference for you?
the EDP seem flat, it has lost its sparkle. there is none of that bright effervescence in the opening. it’s more dull and heavy to me. (it doesn’t smell BAD, but I don’t like it in comparison) Maybe you can bribe a sales associate into giving you a tester bottle.
Congrats and good luck with the promotion! I’m heartened to hear about Misia as it’s the only EDT I rushed to buy a bottle of before it was d/c’d.
Thank you! Good forethought on that one!
This morning I doused myself liberally with Muse but it is just too sweet for me, even with giving it a chance to develop. After that I sprayed myself liberally with Angel which is definitely one of my no brainer scents. That did the trick and dried things down against the sweetness. Then after all that spritzing it was off to work – good thing for me no one at work complains about those less than subtle scents. Sometimes when I return home I like to apply a different scent to decompress after the day and start the evening. Tonight my fragrance of choice was Yatagan by Caron which is actually a man’s fragrance and a very in your face leather. I guess I had that kind of day where I needed to growl a bit – a sort of “take that” fragrance.
I tried Misia on a number of occasions but again it does not work for me.
Hope you get your promotion – best of luck!
thanks! I do the same thing, wearing several fragrances a day. might as well enjoy oneself! 😀 Misia wasn’t love at first spritz for me, more like a slow burn.
Good luck to you on the promotion. I totally agree with you on Misia, the edp seems flat and dull compared to the edt. So happy to have my bottle.
Thanks! Same here!!!
I had time left over after a Dr. appointment, so I hit one of my favorite antique stores and found a vintage Hermès Calèche parfum in its little presentation box. Wearing it now and adoring its archness. I think that the late ’50s/early ’60s are my favorite perfume era– all those severe floral chypre leathers.
I think “arch” is a great descriptor for those severe scents.
I imagine it’s been done (or something like it), but I would love an “arch fragrance Friday” here at NST.
What a terrific find. I hope things are going okay with you…sending love.
Awesome find! Hope your appointment went well.
SOTD is Mohur extrait. Not sure I could call it a no-brainer because its so darned expensive. It sure is gorgeous enough to wear any old time, but it requires conscious consumption in my book. I feel the same about Beloved.
Nodding my head in complete agreement. 🙂
Me too:)
Atelier Rose Anonyme for me today. My little travel spray got stuck in a drawer buried among samples and stuff so I kind of forgot about it for a while.
I love Dries Van Noten.
My SOTD is Alaia.
I’m thinking about wearing Alaia tomorrow…
Another good no brainer!
CDG Floriental is a bit whiny on its own so I’ve layered it with Plum for a bit of backbone. My vote for best no brainer plum perfume goes to …drumroll…Plum. I wonder if it is a Black Doris.
Hello folks. SOTD is #4 of my 5 labdanum-led samples, “Led IV” from Jazmin Sarai, which I am enjoying. Notes are guaiac wood, patchouli, musk, labdanum, grapefruit, bergamot and artemisia.
I don’t have time to comment yesterday. SOTDY was The Merchant of Venice “Ottoman Amber”. I find the brand name very cheesy. This was a good amber scent but I’m not sure of longevity. Yesterday wasn’t a fair trial as was rushing about in cool but very humid weather, working up an unpleasant sweat.
Top: bergamot, geranium and plum;
Mid: sandalwood and patchouli;
Base: are agarwood (oud), vanilla, labdanum and myrrh.
For the evening the whole team got together for a meal and some very touristy stuff – a quick night visit to the Eiffel Tower (just to see it up close, didn’t go up) and a brisk walk onwards to the Christmas Market on the Champs Elysees. SOTEY was Clive Christian “C”. Another brand whose image I find offputting, but the juice was great, a rich smokey long-lasting scent.
Top: mandarin, saffron, thyme and elemi;
Mid: jasmine, rose, orris, lotus, mate and labdanum;
Base: amber, tonka, oud, cedar, guaiac, leather, oakmoss, musk, tobacco, olibanum, styrax and vanilla.
I may well get a decant – the price and the vulgarity of the bottle make a FB out of the question. (Probably more the price than the vulgarity to be honest). :^D
C is my favourite CChristian, but you are right, it is one of those perfumes I keep in the closed cupboard and don’t admit to owning. (Shhh, you smell great!)
The warm and wonderful manager of my local perfumery sprayed a Clive Christian on me the other week. I didn’t pay much attention to what it was at the time because I was more excited about the other three I was trying (Grand Soir and stuff).
There’s 15% off for registered customers at the moment so when mystery perfume no.4 turned more and more drop dead gorgeous in the hours following the visit to the shop, I went back all excited.
The look on her face said it all. (“Oh no, that’s the range we keep in for the medical tourists. What am I going to tell her?”) Fortunately I’d actually heard of Clive Christian so plucked a number higher than my rent out of the air. (The actual price was only a hundred more, so not a bad guess.)
Drop dead gorgeous, though. And fits your theme. Rock Rose. Sigh.
Oh C sounds good — and like something I need not to know about.
Agreed. I was hoping Mr. K would have nasty things to say about it 😉
*Carries on*…
Huh, even I was hoping I wouldn’t like it. I can’t afford to like it. I can get a 5ml decant for £29, or a FB for (ha ha ha) £330 for 100ml or (hee hee hee) £220 for 50ml.
I should have specified, it was “C masculine edition” I tried; there is also a “C feminine edition”.
Will have to try C the next time I’m at Bergdorfs.
Still working through the last quarter of my Penhaligon’s Bluebell! However, a few months ago I started volunteering once a week at our local Barnardo’s shop, so at least I can use it once a week – plus, some of the donations we have to sort through can be less than fresh (!) so being able to have a quick sniff of something lovely is always a help. Having lunch with some of my husband’s former colleagues tomorrow, so not sure which of my recently acquired samples to wear, more than likely be Perfumer H ‘Rain Cloud’ which may well become my new ‘no brainer’/favourite.
Vanille 44. It should have been a non-brained for me, but I like me other Vanilla scents better :(. Will save the most favorite vanilla for tomorrow
Twins! Love this one and have been wanting my own decant- a full bottle just isn’t in my budget- and now thanks to a generous NSTer, I’ve got one!
Can’t wait to see what your favorite vanilla is tomorrow????
Can’t wait to see the winner and it has to be super good because you are vanilla central!
I’m wearing Cuir Mauresque today, just two dabs. I find that I can’t seem to smell the ladylike leathers very well–Cuir de Russie, Cuir Beluga, Botega Veneta and the like–but do much better with the rawer, more masculine types–Bandit, CM, and Knize Ten. It only takes a drop or two, though I can spray African Leather a little more freely. My bottles will last forever!
Try Yatagan by Caron. You can pick it up very cheaply on one of the on line discounters. It comes in a big bottle and it is a BIG leather. I find Botega Veneta very meh.
No brainer Friday, and if I don’t get some decent sleep soon, it will soon be no brains. So: this cold but sunny day I’m wearing Maharanih. I love this with complete devotion. For me, there are no shadows on Maharanih, not with longevity, not with any of the notes, not with nothin’. Be well, all.
Twins!
Tea for Two for me today. I’m not sure how I’d describe this perfume, but it seems just the thing for the end of a difficult week – distinctive, but easy to wear.
I like that one, if I had two words to describe it, they would be: smokey and chai- but that’s just me!
You smell great.
Put on Plum because I had an untried sample kicking around from a swap and everyone was talking about here, and the ultimate no-brainer is letting the group decide for you 😉
It’s more perfume-y (aldehydic?) than I anticipated, and sweet/summery on a cool, overcast day.
Today I’m wearing Chanel No 5 L’eau.
My daughter got a new puppy last night. He is a Shetland Sheepdog, just like the one we lost last month. I am puppy-sitting right now. He is adorable, and very calm. I’m thinking that will change once he gets used to his new surroundings.
You smell great. I really like L’Eau.
I have more errands and a visit to the gym before I scent up, but I see no reason not to wear Amouage Beloved again today.
No reason at all. It’s signature scent worthy.
Got a sample of Angel Muse with my Sephora order so trying that out today. Way beyond my usual sweetness levels but it is interesting. ????
Insanely busy day at work today. I’ll have to read the comments tonight. My SOTD is Eau de Soir. This scent has excellent longevity (for me). I can still smell it and I applied my scent at 7:30 this morning. Amazing and beautiful.
Very nice! One of my best friends wears this perfume and it always smells so elegant on her .
Joyous day.
The sun is shining and it’s warm. I’m packing for our Thanksgiving-week trip to Belize. The laundry on the clothesline is getting dry.
I am a new auntie again. Baby Erich was born this morning, and both he and my sister (she’s 44! talk about unexpected blessings!) are doing well.
So, of course, the scent of such a joyous day is Alahine. 🙂
A big congratulations on your new nephew! I love being an aunt.
Have a wonderful trip and travel safely.
Congratulations and enjoy Belize ;^)
Wonderful story news Aunty Mals! ????
Congratulations and have a great trip!
Congrats and have fun in Belize!
Congratulations!!!
OJ woman for me today, could have been an option for tomorrow too
Chanel N°5 EDT on one arm and EDP on the other–because why the heck not?!? ????
You’re right, why not? You smell classy!
Why, thank you!
In Cuir de Lancôme, which I had a craving for this morning. Not a no-brainer at all for me, but rather one I’m still in the process of coming around to. I bought a bottle blind and have never loved-loved it but things might be going in that direction.
You smell wonderful.
Eeeks, super late to the party!
SOTD = Papillon Angelique
I am continuing my Iris Week. This smells like iris (smooth orris butter), yellow flowers and a little bit of incense. The notes per Fragrantica also include champaca and osmanthus and cedar but I couldn’t tease them out of the composition.
Yesterday, I saw the Lord & Taylor holiday windows. The theme is Enchanted Forest and there is no story to require you to view them in sequence. The tableaus are whimsical with lots of movement and they were large enough that you don’t have to strain to catch any surprises. The balance of digital and 3D was great this year as compared with last year’s epilepsy-inducing digital frenzy.
Ooh, Angelique sounds good. (Gah, more to add to my sample list!)
Every year I wish I could see the NYC window displays. It’s the only holiday-time thing I feel I’m missing out on here.
You can visit 🙂
