Laboratorio Olfattivo Nun, MyLO & Nerotic ~ new fragrances

Posted by Robin on 3 November 2016 6 Comments

Laboratorio Olfattivo Nun, MyLO

This summer, Italian niche line Laboratorio Olfattivo introduced two new fragrances, Nun and MyLO. Later this year, they will launch Nerotic, the first fragrance in the Laboratorio in Nero collection.

Nun ~ developed by perfumer Luca Maffei. "By this palindrome word, the Ancient Egyptian meant the primordial water, in other words the God Nun. According to the legend, this water gave birth to the Lotus, a flower which was used to hide into the water during the night, to open up again at the sunshine. While blossoming out the flower revealed the Sun God Atum. Hence the symbolism of the Sun God, of rebirth. This fragrance arises from the Nun and opens up at the sunshine, while its scented molecules spread out into the air. It’s a tribute to this iconic, symbolic flower." With bergamot, lemon, pear, neroli, lotus, jasmine, ylang ylang, blond woods, amber and musk. In 100 ml Eau de Parfum.

MyLO ~ developed by perfumer Luca Maffei. "A charming and sunny fragrance inspired by the White Lily, one of the most beloved flower in perfumery. A White Lily heart, surrounded by fruity, floral an soft notes, draws a smile on the face of whoever wears this fragrance. A warm base, rich in persuasive notes, strengthens the floral notes and leaves its trace on the skin. An addictive fragrance, My Laboratorio Olfattivo, My LO, MyLO." With bergamot, lemon, yellow mandarin, pink pepper, lily, jasmine, iris, rose, benzoin, vanilla, white amber and musk. In 100 ml Eau de Parfum.

Laboratorio Olfattivo Nerotic

Nerotic ~ developed by perfumer Cécile Zarokian. "Hypnotic, sensual, sexual, erotic, nerotic...Nerotic is a charming and addictive perfume: it drags you into an emotional journey. The idea was to create a scent that stuns the senses thanks to a composition both elegant and intriguing: just like a black dress with a special detail. The dynamic top notes mingle both with the dry and masculine notes of woods, leather and smoke and with the more feminine notes of amber, making this scent perfectly unisex."

    The fragrances don’t sound bad, but all of those names have unfortunate connotations – for me, anyway.
    Nun = obvious religious association
    MyLO = brings to mind JLo or sounds like a celebrity nickname
    Nerotic = neurotic. Or even necrotic.
    Oh dear.

      Funny how personal it is — none of them bothered me, and Nerotic made me laugh :-)

      I first hoped Nerotic would be conjunction of neroli + erotic, but no…

      I made the same word associations, every one springpansy mentioned. Nerotic sounds like something I might like.

    Can I add that Nun and MyLO mark the opening of new collection too?
    It’s called Laboratorio in Fiore.

      Could be. I know they used that term on their FB page. It is nowhere I can find on their website, but as of yet, neither is Laboratorio in Nero.
