Hump Day! (And a quick reminder: the next splitmeet swapmeet! is coming up on Saturday.) What fragrance are you wearing?
I'm in Calvin Klein Reveal, from Jessica's Top 10 of Fall 2015.
Reminder: on 10/14, wear one of your Top 10 of Fall fragrances.
And for those of you who like to plan ahead, see Scent of the day ~ Friday community projects 2016, where I'll try to always have the next five or six weeks mapped out in advance.
Note: top images are from the Calvin Klein Platinum Fall 2016 campaign.
I’m in Chanel Boy. Got a small sample of it and I’m really smelling good. Not yet into the powdery dry down. Still smell the citrus wafting about me. I also ordered travel sizes of the new Zoologist scents so I’m in Olfactory heaven
Lovely, looking forward to trying those at some point.
I have found a real favorite with this company and concept.
Boy is such a good fragrance!
I just pulled this out to wear to a doctor appointment today. Soon to be twins!
Awesome. Eights hours and still going strong.
Scent twins with Robin today!! There’s nothing too terribly complex about CK Reveal but I really like it as a nice cozy scent. 🙂
Exactly.
FM Noir Epices, which is such a wonderfully contemplative scent. Tea is DF earl grey goût russe.
I just hunted down my decant of Noir Epices last weekend so I can get it on rotation. Such a fantastic scent! It has to be one of the best orientals ever.
What I love about Noir Epices is that it manages to be an oriental without being at all sweet.
It always reminds me of mulled wine.
Yes – very good. I don’t really like sweet either. It smells to me like the whole thing you want from a alluring oriental – mulled wine, leather chairs, cozy fire, cashmere shawl, a person to snuggle with (or seduce!)… it gets all that across. It’s very grown up for sure. I also like that it’s really unisex.
I should have been more accurate. I love sweet in perfumes, but Noir Epices is great because it isn’t. Does that make any sense at all?
I have only tried a tiny bit of it once, and loved it, but got more powder than spice. I guess that isn’t true for all of you?
No powder in site for me!
I just tried this for the first time two days ago and it knocked my socks off! You smell great!
Noir Epices took me a while to “get”, then it was love. It’s in my fall/winter faves. You smell great!
Vanille Exquise
Having a bit of an emotional day today. Vanille Exquise is hitting the spot..
Hope u feel better soon, it’s wonderful how much comfort we can find in fragrance.
Sorry to hear that <3 feel better!
VE is a wonderful “chill out” cuddle fragrance. I hope you feel better soon.
Hope your day gets better.
You can do this! You smell lovely!
Hope you’re ok and that the perfume is bringing you some comfort.
Hope your day is improving…isn’t it fascinating that perfume can help? Hang tough!
You smell great. Hope you feel better soon.
Vintage Yvresse, from a decant gifted me from a wonderful NSTer.
This is fast becoming a favourite for autumn, so cosy and gorgeous. Its Helping me to calm down after long and stressful call centre call to vodaphone, I was on the phone for almost an hour and got nowhere!
Also really enjoying Santa Maria Novella ‘Autumn’ incense, which I bought as my scented souvenir from Rome. I’m going to get the room spray next trip to London, it’s so lovely and evocative.
Tea of the day; Twinings Darjeeling.
Hope you will get satisfaction from Vodaphone eventually, but meanwhile you smell great! What does the SMN incense smell like?
Hi Robin, sorry for such late reply!- the SMN Autumn fragrance is green and earthy, a little smoky, a little floral, but not much, it smells quite distinctive to me.I imagine SSS ‘Forrest Walk’ to smell like this , but of course, probably smells very different.
Thanks for ‘Good luck’ with vodaphone, I surely need it!
Thanks, that sounds lovely!
You smell great! I almost wore Champagne today. I hope your day improves.
Thanks Petunia!
Talked about SL Douce Amere yesterday so I decided to wear it today. Definitely on the sweet side of bittersweet but still lovely and warm and autumnal.
You smell good!
You smell great
Yum.
SL Cuir Mauresque. Autumn is a time for leathers of all flavours. And definitely all Lutens leathers.
Agreed!
Yummm, yes. Agreed- a good leather fragrance seems made for fall.
You smell fabulous!
Another great leather fragrance!
LOVE that one! You smell fantastic!
Yes! And Cuir Mauresque is so lovely. Enjoy!
Such a great scent. You smell terrific!
Cuir Mauresque, another fall fave for me too! Burnt Styrax FTW.
I’m in the very balsamic, spicy, ambery Opus VI by Amouage. And I’m wearing a flannel shirt because it’s freezing in the office this morning.
Last night the hubs and I went to see Shin Godzilla and it was awesome. Very dry humor, but also ridiculously laugh out loud funny with effects.
Will try this one later today, have a bunch of Opus samples still to work through.
Most of them, like this one, are not FB worthy, but it’s been nice wearing them all.
Not at that price.
That movie sounds right up my alley, I will check it out.
Tried Opus VI last night and I am smitten! This is definitely FB worthy to me, but I will be patient and drain my sample first before clicking ‘submit order’. 🙂
I’m wearing Un Jardin Apres la Mousson.
Have some meetings today so thought I would go with Box of Eels. It is lovely, but not too strong when up close with people.
Good choice. Making a note to remember this for the next time I have a similar schedule.
Milk of Flowers for me today. Later I’ll be going to get my ears candled. My guy wanted to try it too and as soon as I mentioned that there’s a steam room and hot tub he’s been calling it a spa day. So cute
can you describe Milk of Flowers? compare to anything? it sounds interesting but I have no idea based on the notes. thank you, if you see this and respond!
Spicy thin textured pudding flavored with flower waters. It’s as close to a signature as I get so it’s a little hard for me to describe because it’s so familiar and so me
Unfortunately had to scrub off Dubai Amethyst (Bn9), can still detect the fig. Applied a touch of Dubai Amber to counteract, much more agreeable.
Good thing these are samples, this line is very spendy. 🙂
Very spendy for a scrubber!
I am wearing Lubin Le Vetiver–incense and vetiver, yass!
I am drinking some MF Adventurer’s Tea.
That sounds like a great combination! I’ve never seen it, but now I’ll have to try it.
Oh, and just when I was settling into my Black Jade….that sounds wonderful!
Still no perfume today, due to this vicious cold, but I am chain-drinking Canton Tea Co teas I picked up in London (first English Breakfast, then Earl Grey, and now Jade Tips Green Tea). Lovely, but not exciting.
To those who wanted to know yesterday: the room fragrance with which I was so taken was actually Culti diffusers:
http://www.thesofaandchair.co.uk/for-sale/accessories/7709-culti-decor-home?gclid=COSllJrb1M8CFWEo0wod9G0LGg
It appears to have been tea scented, so perhaps the rosy floral notes came from the thousands of flowers decorating the lobbies! Or perhaps I was simply imagining them because of the presence of all the flowers.
SOTD is AG Heure Exquise – a bit of the dry body oil, and a bit of the edt. It’s just the perfect day for it. Tea at this point in the morning is organic Lemon Balm.
AG Heure Exquise …. top 10 of all time.
Yeah – it’s one of my HGs. Since I have about 10 of them, lol, it gets to definitely be in my top of the top list.
Perfect!
Today I’m wearing DSH Rubis Rose, and drinking a cup of black tea. I may need another cup to get me going. I’ve been up since 3:30 am with our dog. He’s very sick (liver cancer), but hanging in there. During the day, you’d swear nothing was wrong with him. But night time is the worst. Poor little thing paces the house. The vet says its his nerves, so we are trying anti anxiety medicine for him.
Awww, poor pup. At least he is in a loving home. Hugs!
Oh, I am so sorry about your dog.
Poor baby. Sending lots of comforting vibes.
Awful situation, but he is lucky to be so loved.
Sending you both good thoughts and hugs.
Aw, sending loving vibes to you and your doggie. Now i have to go walk mine. Hope you both have a better day than night.
Oh, I’m so sorry. This is a very hard time for both of you and I will also send positive and loving thoughts.
I am so sorry about your dog. Hope the anti anxiety medication helps. Sending you both comforting thoughts.
Thank you all for the good wishes and hugs. Honestly, coming on here each day and reading about everyone’s wonderful scents they are wearing from all around the world is such a pleasant escape for a little while.
today I’m wearing Lancome Mille & Une Roses. I have been wearing this for several days in a row. It’s my favorite rose, but dirty roses are in another category, this is my favorite rosey-rose.
Mille et une roses is a wonderful rose. It was one of the first fragrances I bought after I came across NST and realised that owning more than one fragrance wasn’t as outrageous as some people thought.
It’s very pretty, very elegant rosey rose. I like how it’s pared down to the essential to make it rose, but not totally a solifore ROSE if you know what I mean.
Ancient Resins Body Oil by Aftelier
So very cimfy!
Yum…love this stuff. You smell wonderful today!
Thanks for the reminder that I need to try out my sample of Ancient Resins 🙂
Excellent choice
Definitely a chill in the air this morning! My big ol’ Labrador, Chewy, and my big ol’ cat Gandalf were LOVING the cool air today!
SOTD: Fat Electrician. Best vetiver I’ve ever smelled, hands down! 🙂
It’s chilly here in the PNW as well, with mist rising from the mountains. Beautiful morning.
That is a great vetiver!
You are so right!
T-Rex is also enjoying the weather- wouldn’t go so far as to say cool, but perhaps “less hot”! Vetiver (of any kind really) is the BOMB!
lol that’s about how it is here too. I say it’s fall in Houston when the temp is consistently below 90. And it has been all week (barely) so… yay fall?
Sweet grass, I start celebrating every degree below 90F- the lower it goes, the more I celebrate! One of these days, I will be able to whip out my single sweater, wear it while sipping hot cocoa, while sitting around the outdoor fire, feeling perfectly cozy and content! How’s Houston in “winter”? Could you camp comfortably, say nov, dec, and Jan?
In Reve en Cuir today…smelling good 🙂
Is it going to be a splitmeet again? I thought, for some reason, swap…already started to make a mental list of what I have to offer/want 🙂
Yet another lovely leather! Listed my top 10 yesterday but really I would need to have a top 15 to cover them all, love this category.
Yes this is a great leather. Have you tried any other Indult?
I tried Tihota, because there is a lot of love for it on NST, but I do not remember being impressed. I have to revisit it.
Coffee of the day – Costa Rica Terrano.
SOTD – Coromandel.
Looking forward to swap meet as I have a lot of unwanted treasures hoping to find a new home.
Ooh, can’t wait to see what you’re swapping! I have some goodies as well.
He he – would you like to get an early start 🙂 marianna_r at yahoooo
No cheating, kids!!! Looking forward to swapping away since I have no perfume budget left for the year!
I think I am going to wear Coromandel on Friday. That has become a favorite of mine this fall.
My favourite as well!
I’m in Angel Muse – one of my new autumn favourites for when something nice and cosy and comforting is needed.
How does it compare to regular Angel?
It is less full-on and the vetiver makes it more sophisticated and the hazelnuts more friendly than the original, I think. The two are clearly related, but Muse is easier to like – there are even some Angel-haters who wear it.
While I admire the original I’ve never really wanted to wear it. Enjoy it on others though.
This one sounds a bit more me. And as you point out further down, it’s very accessible.
It actually reminds me more of Coromandel or SL Borneo 1834 than of original Angel.
This is #1 on my must-have list! I’m trying to wait until Christmas, but my willpower hasn’t been too strong the last few weeks! 🙂 Muse is gorgeous!!
Sephora’s VIP event is coming – and this will be my purchase 😉
Do you know when the Sephora event will be? I have a few items I will need. If I can get the 20% off, that’d be great! I too might spring for Angel Muse. My husband loved it.
From what I remember it is early December.
It’s lovely and what’s even better, it’s a mainstream scent. I’m always ridiculously glad when there’s a widely available (and not crazy expensive) perfume that gets it right.
And (in the US at least) it’s available in 30 ml, which is always appreciated.
I agree. It’s more or less how I feel about Cartier.
Very excited for the swapmeet!
Wearing a bit of my tiny decant of Le Labo Poivre 23 today. Delicious vanilla/pepper, but if it weren’t cool and rainy, would definitely be too rich for me. For some reason, I can’t handle “rich” as much anymore – despite loving them. I wonder why. Menopause?
I think so – I know it really affected me that way.
Poivre 23 is great. It does not feel rich on my skin at all, actually feels dry. Skin chemistry is amazing.
Went to see the play Falsettos last night which was a funny and moving relationship musical revolving around the AIDS crisis in the 80s. I showed up too early so went to Arabian Oud across the street. I ended up with a small vial of oil called Mukhallat Nadji Maliki which is amber, Indian Oud, saffron with some rose. It smells mostly of saffron for those looking for a very saffron-y saffron. It’s a bit animalic, almost mushroomy on application but the drydown is a toasted saffron oud. I quite like it.
But, not wearing that today. Went with the very pretty Beloved.
You smell lovely.
Thanks Luna Green!
You smell lovely. Enjoy your new perfume!
An earl arrival has its perks???? That oil sounds fabulous!
Oops, this was supposed to be a response to Elisa P! Dang tablet ????
I like it. It’s very potent and animalic and it freaked my cats out!
Sounds interesting! I’m in favor of anything that freaks out or interests cats. Mine deserve to be messed with a little…
Thank you, Petunia!
🙂
What other onces did you try? I wish we had one here in Northern ca – really curious of shopping experience.
I didn’t sample that much this time. I’d already tried this one last visit and really liked the smell when it dried down. But I’ve tried the popular edps like Kalemat, Woody, Ghroob(which was an amber oriental that I liked), and some of their Cambodian Oud oils.
OH so lucky you to see Falsettos! I saw the original work, March of the Falsettos way back in the early ’80’s when I was living and working in NYC. Very affecting, especially since it was one of the very first theatre pieces to address AIDS. Hope you enjoyed it–looks like a great cast.
I really enjoyed it. Oddly, there are very few reviews of the current production. When deciding if I wanted to see it, everything I found, including videos, was from the original. Andrew Rannells(Book of Mormon) and Stephanie Block were really fantastic, as was everyone else. It must have been something to see it so early on in the AIDS crisis. The audience demographic last night kept the memory of those days very present. It definitely brought me back to my beginning days as a nurse in the early 90s. Times have changed for the better in that respect.
31 Rue Cambon is making it’s seasonal debut today. It is my go-to liquid fortification on days when I know I’ll need it, like today. The rest of the time, it’s just beautiful and makes me feel unstoppable.
In other news, I passed by my local Lush store this weekend and spied what I believe were some bottles of Lord of Misrule shower gel. I was able to keep walking because I am still working through my stash from last year, but I will want to restock soon.
I wish they would fix the formula on this one, it is too liquidy.
Very true
It is, indeed. But good for this time of the year.
Rose Jam shower gel is back in stock, too, for us addicts!
Oh, my now I must go back for Rose Jam!
Thanks for the news!
31RC is probably my favorite. You smell marvelous!
You smell fantastic.
HUMPDAY!
1) SOTD: Tom Ford’s Noir Pour Femme lotion. The lotion is very richly scented and you can even mix this further with an unscented lotion. If you have dry hair you could even scrunch a bit into your hair. Perfect for a chilly, dry autumn morning.
2) Having a nice homemade cafe au lait with a Vietnamese style croissant. The scents of breakfast with the TF Noir is pretty awesome!
I wore the EDP yesterday, and while I haven’t tried the lotion, there’s no doubt in my mind that you smell great!
Sounds like a fantastic combo. I don’t know that I’ve had a Vietnamese croissant. How’s it different from a French one?
Poivre 23 Le Labo.
Expensive? Yes
Over-priced? No
People can spend their own money any way they see fit.
I smell fantastic! 🙂
I like your attitude!
Hey! I’m wearing that today also!
You smell fantastic also, springpansy !
Yes, you do smell lovely indeed!~
Go Bear!
Agreed!
Perfect!????
????????
Thanks for the support everyone !!
😀
I’m not claiming it’s actually cold enough for this yet, but I couldn’t resist wearing Black Cashmere today. Oh how I missed wearing my fall and winter scents!
Nice.
Beautiful.
I had a sample of BC, and now I have a mini. I’m sure a FB spray would be gorgeous.
SOTD: a gentle swipe of TF Vert Boheme. “Vert” indeed!
Vintage Samsara. One or two sprays are all that’s needed.
Gorgeous stuff!
Indeed. ???? You smell wonderful!
Samsara is gorgeous. Unfortunately we don’t get along with each other…..
Samsara is gorgeous. I carry a small refill bottle in my purse at all times because a big sniff of the nozzle is both immediately calming and uplifting. And helps as a defense against obnoxious smells 🙂
SOTD Tauer Une Rose Vermeille (thanks Oakland Fresca). A nice gourmand rose, citrusy in the opening with a creamy vanilla rose drydown. The raspberry note is very strong on me. A very sweet rose with a powerful sillage and longevity. Good for cold days.
I love this one, you smell great.
Such a great scent!
You can never go wrong with Andy’s rose
Wore Dior Homme for the early morning and walking the dog, switching to Absolue Pour le Soir after a bike ride and a shower.
APlS equals fabulous.
Lieu des Reves….
last night I dreamt that I bought Earl Grey Coffee….so my tea this morning was Twinnings Earl Grey with lavender syrup from a local lavender farm…..
Oooh yum!
The tea sounds great!
SOTD is Tom Ford’s Oud Fleur.
I’m hoping that the next week or two will be better. After spending $200 on a root canal and $500 at the emergency vet with a sick dog, Amex is probably going to be paid a week late. So, I am a little panicky over that. I think I will wear Theorema today and I hope I can find a solution.
I hate unexpected big spends too! Hopefully you are feeling better though, as well as your doggie! That is the most important thing. We do what we have to do, so don’t panic…Guarantee that Amex will appreciate your payment when it does come! 🙂
Ugh. Hope you can work something out. We got devastating financial news yesterday, so I’m on tenterhooks as well.
I’m so sorry!
Oh I’m so sorry. I hope you work it out without too much pain.
So sorry! Hope the Theorema comes up with something.
Wearing Habanita EdT today, one of my fall besties. Kicking myself for not buying a backup bottle while it was still easily available…
It’s still availability at online discounters for cheap (<$30). Just sayin'…
Put that Enabler Pin of yours in “receive” mode… 😀
Awesome????
Happy “Hump Day” everyone! I was in the mood for “rose” scented fragrances this morning. I started with Molton Brown’s “Delicious Rhubarb and Rose” shower gel. I love it because its so refreshing. The fruity-rosy combo goes well together. I am using one of my new samples I just received yesterday. “Slow Explosions” by Imaginary Authors. This is a rose and saffron scent that is described as an autumn scent. It is a bit on the masculine side, in my opinion, but still very nice. To tone it down a bit, I also sprayed some “Lady Vengeance” by Juliette Has a Gun. This is a soft, feminine type of rose scent. Its one of my favorite rose fragrances.
How’s your friend doing?
He’s in good spirits, but he is throwing himself into his work. Keeping busy I guess keeps his mind off of things. Thanks for asking about him. I guess I will really find out this weekend. I am going down to New Orleans to see what all he needs and to help him find a new place to live. Right now, he’s staying in one of those hotels with everything in it that you can pay for weekly or monthly (has refrigerator, stove, etc..). He will stay there for the month and then move to wherever he chooses.
Une Rose today — the Acme of rose perfumes, as far as I’m concerned, and one that never fails to wrap me in a sort of armored bubble of beauty and strength.
Beautiful!
Hmm, I could use a bubble like that. Une Rose goes on the must sample list. 🙂
Wearing 2 (!) spritzer of the lovely Salomé today. This is a “T-Rex Approved” scent. How do I know that, you may ask? Because she sniffs my neck in a very focused, intent manner and then tries to rub all over me like a cat. This dog just kills me!
I’m off for the next 3 days and am planning to do some more winnowing of “stuff” and trying to find a way to organize things I’m going to donate and stuff I will sell at a big “moving sale” this fall/winter. The hardest part is getting started because it seems so overwhelming.
You all smell fabulous and nice to see so many are enjoying fall weather and scents. It’s so interesting to me how people classify scents as seasonal.
Be well, travel safe, and give your loved ones (2 and 4 legged) some extra love today❤️
I love your doggie story 🙂 Yes, that can be incredibly overwhelming. Starting with one section of one room at a time works for some people.
Yes, a room at a time is a great way to approach it. I’ve also done one “category ” at a time and have donated almost my entire book collection. It’s a very bittersweet process. T-Rex is the most entertaining dog I’ve ever had- she is so unexpectedly “catlike,” it always takes me by surprise.
Too sweet! And my cats ate incredibly dog-like. It’s fun having the best of both species.
My cats love Salome too! Unfortunately it’s too much cumin for me, but I occasionally do a little spritz from a small sample to get them to lick me!
I’m thinking cumin must agree with me. On the Vetiver post yesterday, Robin mentioned PdN Vetyyver as being a bit bit too cumin-y for her. I blew through a sample of that in no time and it went on my (endless) FB list. T-Rex does the licking thing too! She will also roll all over the floor where I have stood and spritzed myself. I always wonder how things smell to animals with their heightened sensitivity…
SOTD = Philosophy Fresh Cream
Taking a cue from Goldilocks and the Three Bears, some like it hot, some like it cold, this is just right: not too cheap, not too expensive, and just enough vanilla and cream and musk to satisfy gourmand lovers and haters alike.
I am working from home today as I am getting a delivery that requires my signature. Okay, if you must know, it is a box from Hermes with the goodies for the Splitmeet!
I did not even really have a weekend and this week had been just as crazy as last week so I do welcome not having to commute today.
Packages in the mail= Joy! You smell great!
Yum, Fresh Cream is pretty delicious. I wore it all throughout my honeymoon and still can’t get enough (though I like the lotion better than the EDT…probably because I smelled it first)
I just had to order some samples so I’d have perfume mail coming to me!
The best kind of packages!
The arrival of an Hermes package is always an event worth staying home for.
FOR PETE’S SAKE I EITHER MISSED THE DOORBELL OR THE FEDEX GUY MESSED WITH ME! I was facilitating a meeting between 2:30 and 3:00 and when I decided to check tracking it said to be delivered tomorrow and I was like wha————t??? I opened the door and there was a sticky 1st Attempt failed. I DELIBERATELY LEFT A NOTE THAT HE SHOULD RING THE DOORBELL SEVERAL TIMES AND THAT IT MAY TAKE ME 2’MINUTES TO OPEN THE DOOR. I swear the doorbell did not ring — it did not matter that I was in a meeting because I could have excused myself for a minute. AAAAAAAAAAARRRRRGGGGGGHHHHH
Booooo! That’s happened to me where I was home all day, no doorbell, and that Note. I think they’re in a rush so don’t want to wait. Much faster to stick notes on the door and then make you go pick it up.
Oh crap 🙁
Oh that’s the worst!
Rats! That has happened to me too. So sorry. 🙁
Completing the Histoire des Parfums Ven-Vidi-Vici trio with “Vici”. ‘Vici’ evidently being short for ‘Vici-ous blast of pepper’.
Top: angelica, cardamom, red fruit, basil, violet leaf, galbanum and aldehydes.
Mid: iris, osmanthus, incense, and celery seed.
Base: patchouli, musk, cedar and raspberry.
This does nothing for me, leaving the trio overall result as meh-no-no. :^)
Heading to the doctor, courthouse (don’t ask), post office, then mall to do some returns. I woke up thinking about Chanel 5 L’eau, which got me thinking about Boy, and I’m planning on wearing a bit of each. I’m on the verge of an anxiety attack and both of these should be soothing, and I’m also hoping doing a comparison of the 2 while I’m out will keep my mind from obsessing over other matters.
Good luck with your errands!
Sorry for the anxiety – I do find that when I’m on the verge, perfume can really help calm me down. It may sound crazy, but there it is. I hope the day goes better than you expect.
Not asking, but wishing you luck and success at all your stops today! Deep breath, in and out, in and out…
Oh no! That sounds like a good distraction plan. Hope it passes.
Good luck today kpaint, hope things improve.
Sorry for the stress you’re going through, wishing you the best.
I need to snap myself out of a funk and trying to think what perfume will help. Something cheerful and energizing . . . Maybe the ️️also somewhat sultry tobacco Rose?
Something funky to kick those blues outta town, sista! (Absolutely true, I have no idea what I am saying…but it sounds better than ‘Take care of yourself, dear.’)
This made me laugh. Always good!
Hope you found something!
When I sniffed around I wanted to perfume *into* my mood with Pale Grey Mountain, Small Black Lake – or whatever it is called – and that made me feel better!
I’m wearing Ellie Saab because I have a cold and can’t smell anything, and I want to use up this bottle to make room for other things. I like it, but don’t LOVE it.
Ugh, get better soon! (And we’re a small club, but I don’t love it either.)
I’m doing battle with my internet provider today so I chose Un Bois Vanille, hoping that smelling sweet will help the customer service rep treat me sweetly. Got my swap items put aside yesterday, ready for Saturday when it’s supposed to pour rain. It will be a nice way to pass the day. I might make a fire.
SOTD!Body Kouros.Yum.Also got mail,my Smell bent package arrived!!Love that brand, plus there’s always an extra little surprise inside! The Artist’s studio is so far my favorite of the new releases.Freshly painted oil on canvas.LoveLove.
That sounds really interesting. Is it wearable, though?
Yes!Absolutely! It’s kinda abstract and “odd”,but not in a Secretions Magnifiques way. There is a hint of florals and some toasted sesame which I love!So yeah! Not that I prescribe myself to such silly(!!!!) perfume wearing rules, but it an occasional perfume, for a sunset cruise on a yacht, scaring the salespeople at Harrods with your fierceness,or just to be the “who’s that girl???”moment in a persons’life!????
Does it also have a linseed oil scent?
Yes,I do detect a slightly oily nutty-ness like toasted linseed oil accord,sesame/linseed/raw oil and toasted seeds/nuts.Alongsike the almoat cold concrete smell it makes for a fun juxtaposition, and very wearable!I’m sniffing myself regularly!Lol!Do,seek it out,a fun and interesting perfume!:-)
Forgive me my awwwwful grammar tonight!????
Sounds fascinating! I do like industrial smells when they are well blended and well done (like the spray paint and concrete in Asphalt Rainbow). I must put it on the list). Thanks for your description ????
If tou like Asphalt Rainbow this one will surely be LOVE !:-))
Wearing Jo Malone Orange Bitters today.
How do you like it?
Orange bitters. That sounds enticing.
I tried that yesterday. Liked the opening citrus, but didn’t care for the bitter drydown.
Finally got myself to a consultation/physical therapy appointment to deal with the leftover hamstring fiasco from the beginning of summer. Just decided the remaining tightness needed more expert help, as did knowing what exercises to do to avoid residual knee problems yet build strength. So, I will join the ranks of those nervous re $$. Although insurance covers much, there’s still a co-pay.
Came home and decided on Arquiste 57 (J. Crew). Good for a cool fall day. I had to decant it after I got it because the bottle fell apart. It was incredibly cheap, so I didn’t mind too much…
Hope the PT will help!
Spring is becoming more real day by day, so I’m thinking Le Temps d’une Fete today.
I love that first wearing of LTduF when Spring arrives. So uplifting.
Testing Amouage Opus VIII today. Interesting.
Have a good Hump Day!
SOTD is fall favorite Dzongkha. Another scent that took me a bit to understand.
Happy Hump Day!
It also took me time to appreciate it. You smell gorgeous.
You smell marvelous- I can’t wait to try this one, maybe it will appear @. The swap meet??
‘The Leather sisters’ needs a sequel!
???? That story!
I’m wearing Cedre today. Work is frustrating today and it’s been kind of comforting.
Sorry, and glad it’s helping!
SOTD is Sandalwood from L’Orientaliste. I think this is my favorite sandalwood! I bought it in my early stage of perfumistahood, and wish i had bought a back-up. It’s very simple, but hits the sweet spot for me.
That was a nice one. I probably should have bought it way back when.
I thought it was swapmeet coming on Saturday, Robin.
SotD = L’Homme Prada
Oops! Just fixed, thanks so much for pointing it out.
Barqs – Best of luck. Been there.
SOTD was Ambra di Nepal, comforting and warm.
Yum!
Eau de 1000 again today….doesn’t last very long. Oh well, I can look for SOTE. Have a good evening all.
Treating common cold with TF Sahara Noir, the first incense frag that I tried and fell in love with. Soooooooooo good!!!!
Late to the party, but it has been a productive day in the last spritzes of Cristalle–time to retire it for next summer. Ran errands and made a ton of appointments (hair/car/pedi/heating system/accupuncture/dentist/mammogram/flu shot). Took a new lace evening gown to be hemmed. I am going to a gala in two weeks so its time to start soliciting scent recommendations. Probably a rose, but which one?
Une Rose
Incense Rose
Portrait of a Lady
Lyric Woman
31 Rue Cambon
Phi-Rose de Kandehar
help me…….
I vote for Lyric. It’s perfect for that kind of event.
Portrait of a Lady will be perfect for a gala
Another vote for PoaL, although Une Rose is fancy dress fabulous also. Or maybe Mohur if you have some and like it? It’s perfect for the grand event and everyone around you will be extremely grateful. It is hands down my most complimented on perfume.
I think any those are all great choices, but I’d probably go with Lyric or Une Rose, myself.
For quite a while, I’ve been wanting to request a poll of top three “black tie” fragrances. I would love reading everyone’s ideas! My favorite “evening attire” rose would probably be Noir de Noir. But Myrrhe et Delires is my fav for black tie events.
