Welcome to fall! (Actually, fall does not start in my area for another hour, so I'm not sobbing just yet.) What fragrance are you wearing?
I'm seasonally appropriate in Christian Dior Hypnotic Poison, from Annick Menardo.
Reminder: on 9/23, wear a perfume by Annick Menardo, if you have one.
And for those of you who like to plan ahead, see Scent of the day ~ Friday community projects 2016, where I'll try to always have the next five or six weeks mapped out in advance.
Menardo week, day 4. Rose Oud by Yves Rocher. Starts as a deep crimson rose, then as the petals unfurl it becomes creamier until finally a bit of that creaminess dries to give the whole thing a fine dusting of sweetened powder. It’s my favourite of the Secrets d’Essences line.
That is one of the better reasonably priced series in perfumery — glad to hear the oud is good too.
That really sounds wonderful.
That sounds beautiful! I might just have to pop by YR 🙂
I’ve really got to go to Yves Rocher one of these days. There’s one (kind of) near me but I’ve never made it in.
Still hot in Columbus so I’m holding on to summer in Phlur’s Olmsted & Vaux. Hoping for cooler weather soon so I can use my othe sample Hepcat. My favorite thus far.
Any cooler weather I see around here, I will send your way 😉
Epic Woman
Red Lips in Ruby Copper
Red lips & A mix of rose, oud and frankincense to celebrate Autumn
Perfect!
Lovely.
Wonderful!
I’m in Chloe again.
Not a bad thing at all!
Infusion d’Iris Prada.
Coffee stained lips.
From…umm.. coffee.
😉
🙂
Money saved I’d say ????
Triple strength short black. Hold the water.
Bear I just LOVE your sense of humor 🙂
Thanks! chocolatemarzipan! 😉
I’m wearing Si Lolita, which is perfect for the first day of fall in Texas, which is hot and humid. The spicy sweetness is perfect.
I think I over-applied. The two women at the Jack-in-the-Box drive through window, complimented me on my perfume.
No, you applied enough. You just their day.
LOL!
I love Si Lolita, and think I did a blind buy of it after your recommendation. You smell lovely!
Guerlain Bois d’Armenie, which I like very much but have never been tempted to a full bottle.
I am drinking a cup of mixed black tea from the ends and odds of a variety of teas. It isn’t bad.
Same here — it’s a darned nice fragrance but I’m not in love with it. Still hoping that some day, Francis Kurkdjian will do a Bois d’Armenie to match his “Year of Armenia” version of Papier d’Armenie, which is one of my favorite smells ever.
If there was a scent that matched those papers, I would be a very happy woman !!
They’re so perfect! I like to burn them but I like the “unburned” smell even better.
I am wearing Bois d’Armenie too, it is one of my favorite fall and winter fragrance.
you both smell great! Love Bois d’Armanie and bought a full bottle at the Guerlain Pavillion at Epcot about 2 years ago.
SOTD – TF Shanghai Lily. Am traveling home from Michigan to SoCal today. Thought I would get some autumn weather while here, but it was in the 80s yesterday.
Am going to hit up the lovely Tom Ford store at airport here in Detroit…..
Lolita Lempicka Le Premier Parfum Eau de Toilette… I think. The bottles and naming kind of confuse me, but in any case, I find it easier to wear than the original. Of course, I still managed to apply too much.
LL rivals Narciso Rodriguez in making the names confusing!
SOTD is Parfumerie Générale, “20 L’Eau Guerrière”. It’s one of those featured in a Blooms sample pack for a week of perfumes with juniper notes, which is slightly puzzling as juniper isn’t listed as a note. Fragrantica suggests ‘aldehydes in a union with aloe, sensual musk, accords of Chichona tree bark and olibanum’.
Anyway, it’s fine, a nice Summer incense perfume, but strictly for les guerriers du clavier despite its warlike name. It has middling lasting power at best.
Les guerriers du clavier, hee hee. Ils ont besoin de l’eau aussi.
SOTD: What we do in Paris + Smoky rose again.
Been coming back to this combination for a few times already these past 2 weeks. Guess I am just happy to find a combo that actually works.
Also with me is a spicy cup of Chai.
A cool autumn morning! I’m wearing a drop of Angel, just because.
Wearing Lumiere Blanche, which is one of my fits-all-moods-and-seasons scents.
This one is on my “to try” list.
To honour Annick Ménardo I’m wearing Patchouli 24 which is wonderful, and to please myself even more I’ve added some Parfum de Thérèse. The combo is wonderful.
Tea is Thé de l’Orangeraie.
Oh wow, I wonder if I am brave enough to try this combo?
No.19 Poudré, from an early anniversary gift bottle from my husband. He does occasionally pay attention 🙂 !
I love that one -I know a lot of people think it’s nothing like 19 but I appreciate it for what it is
Ditto.
me too, I think its lovely!
It is.
It is My Chanel – I just like it better than 19.
How nice! Hopefully he likes it too 😉
The deal has always been if he doesn’t like it, I won’t wear it. There are too many perfumes out there to wear something he dislikes. That said, there are some that I only put on after he leaves for work, usually because the top notes give him a headache. . .
You smell great.
I still haven’t tried it, Victoria over at BDJ loves it and her review is beautiful.
Yay autumn! I am wearing the beautifully golden scent of Amun Re: The Tears of Ra from Soivohle. I just finished a mini so I’ll get a full size one next quarter
Sounds interesting, what is it like? I’m always move to find out what it is that makes you want to full bottle
It’s golden and deep with a good dose of florals, works in almost every weather and is way more than a honey scent. Also, Soivohle is a house that works really well on my skin
I have a sample of it in my “good” box, however I do not remember what it smells like. Need to re-visit
I had a sample of that which I really loved. My coworker loved it more so I gave it to her. You smell wonderful!
Good morning! Sure doesn’t seem like fall yet….In fact, the high will be 88 today in Hotlanta! (I’m hanging on to summer as long as I can!)
SOTD: D&G 3 L’Imperatrice.
Frapin Speakeasy. Lovely scent. However, I do not know if it is there or not; one minute i do not smell anything, the next minute it envelops me in its warmth. Something funny with my nose, perhaps
SOTD: Sycomore
On my 2nd cup of joe; so tired with work at full throttle this week and next plus other non-work stuff. I’m desperate for a morning to sleep in!
At least we have a clear, gorgeous blue sky day out there. Temp is lovely too.
I haven’t worn Sycomore in quite a while. I have one of those huge 6.8 ounce bottles. Got it before Chanel wised up and made a smaller bottle. I probably should wear that today.
I wish I had jump on one of those. Sycomore is wonderful and that size for last for several years!
If not several decades… I can’t really visualize a 6.8 oz bottle. I think the biggest bottle I have is 3 oz and it seems ridiculously (annoyingly, actually) huge.
You smell great.
And here’s a lab worker secret: coffee with a B-complex vitamin tablet. The cobwebs will be brushed away and you will be able to function!
I’ve never been a believer in vitamins but I have heard good things about B-complex. I should give it a try, especially right now as I’d really be putting it to the test.
Thanks!
I am wearing Byredo Oliver Peoples because today is “Say Hi Day” at school and I thought this scent just reaches out and says hi with a great big grin.
Say Hi Day is a wonderful idea. I wish every school would do it.
1) It’s Autumn, and it’s so dark in the mornings now.
2) Am wearing Smoky Poppy body lotion (discontinued, available at discounters for pennies) after showering with the Smoky Poppy body gel. Lovely spicy-sweet resinous stuff on it’s on, and layers beautifully with other oriental-type scents, and affordable besides.
3) OOTD: Short brown boots, blue tencel skirt, a blouse chased with gold thread, forest green scarf, brown leather jacket.
OH! Had to add this:
Zulilly is havinga special on popular fragrances, including a few in MASSIVE bottles. If you need 6.8 of Chanel #5 Eau de Parfum for $197.99, then jump like a bunny over there.
I’m in Penhaligons Elixir, which is very autumnal – boozy woods. Today’s lipstick follows the theme, a muted red by Laura Mercier called Cherrywood. It’s quite chilly here and the leaves have already started to turn, but autumn in this part of the world is a drawn-out affair, so we’re only just getting started…
I like Elixir. And would be very happy with an extended autumn. 🙂
I’d be happier still were it accompanied by a short winter but alas, after extended autumn comes interminable winter! At least that means I make a dent in my cold-weather perfume collection 🙂
That lipstick sounds very pretty!
it is! Laura Mercier does very wearable shades of red in my experience, not too garish. I own several since I’m a lipstick fiend and they’re among the best, comfortable and well-pigmented!
The lipstick and perfume sounds like a great combo.
I have yet to try anything from that house…
I find it a very diverse sort of house! Most of their stuff I don’t care for at all, but some of it is well worth seeking out – I know Ostara gets raves everywhere, for instance.
My only Penhaligon scent – great stuff!
It’s delicious isn’t it! I always find it evaporates quickly from skin but lingers like the devil on clothes, especially woolen ones, which makes it ideal for colder weather 🙂
See the comment on the Penhaligon’s video I posted today…looks like Elixir has been discontinued (?)
http://www.penhaligons.com/elixir/
🙁
oh dash it all!! that’s the only Penhaligons I truly like, and I’ve almost run out, to boot. Must they always discontinue their best things?
You know, at least they publicize it I guess — most brands don’t bother. But it does pretty much erase Penhaligon’s from brands I care about.
Parfums Quartana Hemlock again. I admit I had a hint of buyer’s remorse when I bought it on the spot, as they would have happily given me a sample to live with for a bit. But I’ve worn it nearly every day since then. It’s the perfect weight for the warm weather we’re still having.
I think that it’s nice to have a few utility scents in our wardrobes that are easy to wear and enjoy. Especially for those days that you aren’t sure what you want. I have a few and am grateful to have them when I need them.
This would fall into that “any time, anywhere” category.
Happy first day of fall to you all!
After yoga, I fully intend on drenching myself in Vanille Absolument to celebrate the new season. I’ll smell fabulous, of course. 🙂
You smell fabulous! I wish they hadn’t discontinued Vanille Absolument.
You sure will smell fantastic!
I found a bottle of VA for very cheap in Rome years ago and didn’t buy it out of misplaced thrift. I’ve been beating myself up for it since! You smell delightful.
September equinox has just happened here – well, five minutes ago. I don’t ever look forward to winter approaching, I hate the short days when I go to work in the dark, and come home in the dark. I think I suffer a bit of SAD as my mood seems darker to suit the darker days. Ooh, I sound like a right moaning minnie. The only bit of light on the horizon is that I can break into the third drawer of my dresser where the spice lives! Tomorrow I am gonna bust out Hypnotic Poison and spray lavishly.
Going back to a thread that was discussed here about two weeks ago, somebody mentioned Euro Glamour Zone on ebay and was unsure about ordering, they were confused by the shop name and the seller’s name. I recently received an order from here and I can recommend them, going on my own experience. Scored a little bottle of vintage Magie Noire, and I’m happy happy happy. The seller’s contact is sam_in_barbate, and she’s got lots of vintage stuff.
What are your favourite scents that live in the third drawer? I need more spices in my life.
Well, there’s a mixed bunch that wouldn’t strictly be called spicy, for instance Mahora lives there, and that is classified as a white floral, but there’s oodles of spice going on, and I wouldn’t wear it during summer as it could be a bit cloying. It keeps company with Coco, Euphoria, Aromatics Elixir Parfum (a very well-behaved old gal), Dior Addict, E Coudray Ambre et Vanille (fantastic cinnamon note here), Theo Fennell Scent (we have a complicated relationship), Hypnotic Poison, some vintage Epris (wooh, she’s a hot mama), my recently acquired Magie Noire (another hot mama) and a few more that I can’t think of at the moment. Oh yeah, how could I forget Tocade!
Lovely list! Thank you so much! Does anyone want to add to the list?
I love spice. Some of my favorites are Comme des Garcons (the first release they did, the edp, there is another with the same name I think) Dawn Spencer Hurwitz Oeillets Rouge, Parfumerie Generale Un Crime Exotique (discontinued but sometimes on ebay), Origins Ginger Essence, Tom Ford Shanghai Lily, and VC&A Lys Carmin.
Like you, I can only think of fall as the beginning of winter. And spring is really just the last few months of drawn-out winter. Summer is the only season I like and in some years it’s very, very short. SAD afflicts just about everyone here, I imagine, and I agree that going to work and coming home in the dark is the depth of misery. So brace ourselves, we must. But it is a better season for perfume 🙂
SOTD = Bvlgari Black
I doused myself with this and I am loving it. No one has commented which means the cloud is staying close to skin.
If all goes as planned, I will be making a brief reconnaisance visit to the Times Square Arabian Oud boutique on my way to dinner with friends from high school! Actually, they were classmates since kindergarten!
Planning to wear this Friday. You smell great! Looking forward to hearing about your foray into Arabian Oud. I have been to their Paris store.
Hooray for dousing onesself in Black! I like 10 sprays myself, but for work I wear 5.
WHAT? How did I not know they had a boutique in the US? Ugh, and I was there this summer too….
It’s only been open 3 weeks so you didn’t miss it.
Ok, so it wouldn’t have been available even when I was there. Well, I may need to plan another trip to NY.
That’s a great idea???? And the weather will be more tolerable.
I couldn’t resist going on my lunch break! The staff are really sweet. I tried the oud oils and the one I liked is Mukhalat something-or-other which I may go back for at some point. If you get a chance to smell the incenses, I really liked a couple of those and wish the scent came in an oil. I ended ip with a small “1,000 Flowers” oil which is a sweetish jasmine-y thing. Purdy. Perfume-wise I liked Ghroob. The prices are pretty reasonable.
You smell great! Have a fun dinner with your friends!
That’s really neat that you have friends still from kindergarten. I’ve got a few myself, but we don’t see each other very often.
Have a fun night!
It is fall here today! But it will be summer again by the weekend.
SOTD is Bruno Fazzolari Lampblack.
Heya Pixel. Nice choice!
Happy Equinox! SOTD is No. 19. It’s funny that I like this so much. I would have said that I don’t like “perfumy” perfumes a few short years ago, but now…
L’Homme Prada. Just back from a few days off work.
Sat at work with a card sprayed with L’homme and I rather like it!
Dries van Noten for me today! It’s actually cool-ish and rainy today, so I busted it out. I smell glorious.
Great choice, I will wear this myself soon! Temps have finally dropped here.
Happy fall! Continuing the rose theme with Le Maroc pour Elle. Wore JM Velvet Rose Oud last night.
that JM is so nice.
Wearing vintage Bal this morning. I’m so happy to be back on vacation right now. I will be wearing L’Air Du Desert Morocain after my shower today. Haven’t worn that one in a while. I can’t wait for the mail to come. My birthday present is in today’s mail. Now I need to figure out how to spend my $65 gift card on Amazon.
That shouldn’t be too hard 😉
Happy First Day of Fall! Each new day is now one day closer to next summer, if that’s any consolation to anyone. I’m trying to look on the bright side, ok?
This morning is another rainy, foggy, humid morning. I was drawn to Fille en Aguilles but it didnt match my mood quite right – I’m feeling a little more surly than that. So I am wearing lots of Bvulgari Black.
Everyone at work today is dressed very summery – except me.
You smell great!
Black is so distinctive. You smell great.
As I was sniffing from a tester bottle of Bvlgari Eau Parfumée au Thé Bleu at a perfume counter a few days ago, I kept thinking “do I smell car tires and rubber in this?” Today it occurs to me that I must have been standing near a tester bottle of Black. 😀
Bois d’Armenie today.
My fragrance for tomorrow!
I am wearing Carmen Le Bolshoi today from the STC sale.
I believe it is a reissue of Guerlain’s Vetiver pour Elle….
I am enjoying it sadly 😉 …the latter is discontinued and goes for steep prices on eBay and the former was limited and high-priced to begin with.
I’m pretty sure you’re right about it being the Vetiver reissue; I think I remember reading that on Monsieur Guerlain.
I’m having a perfumista moment. So. I was thinking about the Escada I wore yesterday, and religiously when I worked mid-town on the East Side of Manhattan in the 1990s–Margaretha Ley Escada. So I looked up the nose who it turns out is Michel Almairac. The Escada now sits alone towards the back of a wicker shelf as I have used up the two other fragrances that I kept along side it–Bond No. 9’s Fire Island, and Zen by Shiseido (the gold cube). I have not felt compelled to replace either yet, as the Escada (which I wear about 3 times a year) occupies a similar scent personality as the other two. My perfumista moment? Almairac is the nose for all three! Honestly, they have been lined up next to each other on the same shelf for years! I used up the Zen a couple of years ago, and then this year the Fire Island… They do not smell the same–but they fit a similar glamorous white linen suit vibe that can veer into clumpy mascara and sticky lip gloss territory on some days. Unbelievable.
Have we done a Michel Almairac week Robin? His oeuvre is really diverse.
As for my SOTM, I have Nahema from an eBay purchase on one wrist (it had been pitched as “vintage” but we all know that can mean nothing or even spoiled), and “vintage Nahema” from an STC decant I bought about a year ago. My wrists smell exactly the same. Exactly. And neither smells like I remember Nahema smelling the summer of 1993!
Very interesting perfumista moment!
I would love to do a Michel Almairac week. Perfect for spring and autumn swinging seasons and weather.
Great discoveries, both! A very good perfumista day, indeed 🙂
How cool!! MA is on my list of perfumers to do, so I will just move him up the list 🙂
Bois d’Argent…the Menardo decant that seemed best suited to a 3-appointment day…
I haven’t pulled this out since the winter, I think it has a lovely (yes, silvery) quality that I now associate with the last 2 winters I’ve had it…I wonder how it will do on this sunny, fall day?
SOTD is Alaia. I was too tired to figure out what I felt like wearing this morning as I only had four hours of restless sleep last night. Alaia is a no brainer. After having cooler temps and sunny days last week, the days turned back warm and humid this past weekend and haven’t returned to cooler temps. The days are noticeably shorter. I’ll miss the sunlight more than summer itself.
I had a restless night and wild dreams last night. I think it was the burrito I ate for lunch yesterday. Ha!
Hope Alaia is good to you today. 🙂
Burritos can be tricky that way. 🙂
I came home last night to unexpected company and a leaking hot water tank so it was just one of those nights. I didn’t get to sleep until after 1 AM by the time I caught up on my chores and wound down.
great choice!
I just discovered yesterday that there’s an Alaia extrait. (!!)
Hope you’re able to get some rest tonight! I’m with you on missing the longer days, but not the heat. Although the weather was beautiful today. Dry, low 80s. I’d take that year round.
Sadly I won nothing last night at bingo but had a really fun time. SOTD is African Leather on top of sandalwood shower gel. My options for tomorrow are limited to one fragrance so Lolita Lempicka it will be.
African Leather is great. you smell wonderful. What is the shower gel called?
It’s just Caswell-Massey Sandalwood.
Tomorrow I will wear Lolita Lempicka EdT in perfumed solidarity. 🙂
Z&D This is Her today. I would classify this as an edgy gourmand. It’s opening reminds me of Bvlgari Black, but softer. Liked it so much that I bought the large bottle and will be hosting a split this weekend!
Whoops… Z&V! Zadig & Voltaire….????
Today I can’t help but chime in that Michel Almairac was the nose for this one too, along with Sidonie Lancesseur.
Do you get peach in the opening? I like the creamy musk….the chestnut?
No but I’ll look for it next time. I love the nutty note but would never have guessed chestnut! Does its opening remind you of Bvlgari Black a little bit?
Another very busy day, and feel strengthened by oakmossy goodness from Scherrer by Scherrer, beautiful supporting act from hyacinth, rose and orris, and a gorgeous drydown of vetiver and amber. I’m wearing the EdP.
Sounds beautiful! I hope to try it one day. Meanwhile I will be enjoying the only chypre in my collection Sisley Eau du Soir once the temperature dropps.
Eau du Soir has been on my test list forever.
My SOTD is Dzongkha and I’m in love with it. The vetiver and iris are perfect for the first day of fall, even if I am in Los Angeles and the weather is much too warm for my tastes. My favorite season is here!
you smell great.
Your description encouraged me to dig out my sample of this. I’dalways thought of this as a sheer incense but smelling for the vetiver and Iris is giving me a whole new perspective. Nice!
That’s so interesting, because I wouldn’t have picked up the incense unless you’d mentioned it. On me the iris and vetiver jump right out.
Just dipping my toes in the NST waters after a long break. I’ve missed participating and reading about all your fragrant adventures.
Wearing Cacharel Amor Amor which is easy to wear and makes me happy.
Love it and read that Christopher Sheldrake likes it too.
Happy first day of Fall, y’all! If you need a smile, today’s google doodle is worth a peek.
SotD = Lolita Lempicka EdT from a sample.
Sweet! Cute! Even the sample is Adorable! with swirly lettering and an opaque pastel-lavender vial. I smell flowers, fruit, and Sweetarts candy. As it dries down it is mellowing but remains la coquette. I want to give Lolita a hug.
I think I like this one.
I had so many different expectations before I tried this, which I only really did because I felt like I needed to smell it and know what all the fuss was about. I didn’t expect to like it (I think I was expecting to rather despise it, really) but I find it very wearable, and in fact like quite a few from the LL line.
I’ll also add that I get a tea vibe from it, but am probably alone in that 😉
You know, I can imagine tea in Lolita Lempicka EdT if I sort of squinch up my nose and think about it.
Actually, all day I kept thinking “where is that nice iris coming from?” and then realized it was LL.
Like you I didn’t expect to like it very much. I wore it because of Annick Menardo. But I was very nicely surprised and will wear it again on Friday.
Very late to the party today b/c I was in meetings all morning. But I am carrying on with my rose week. SOTD is my very loved bottle of Sonoma Scent Studio’s Rose Musc. I can’t say enough about the combination of juicy rose and dry labdanum.
You smell lovely AnnS. I just brought a travel of RM to work with me today as a safeguard against potential perfume emergencies. 🙂
House twin! Rose Musc is on my to-sample list.
Puredistance White today, love this one and well suited to Fall for me.
Alas I am getting to NST so late these days. Work. Oof.
Wearing Tardes which is a perfect fall scent even though it isn’t really fall here yet. It’s still good though!
Tardes is lovely. It feels nostalgic and rimantic to me.
Well, it *feels* very fall-ish, here — a windy cold front came through last night and this morning was crisp and cold, and now it’s warm and golden and the hygrometer that is my curly hair tells me it’s dry, dry, dry. Horrid night — maybe two hours of non-contiguous sleep after going to bed with a migraine, woken every hour by a sobbing baby and then for good at 4 am by an absentee neighbor’s malfunctioning alarm, with headache still lurking. I can barely see, or smile, but I’m wearing Ambre Russe and thus am smiling on the inside.
That sounds like a scene from a horror movie…apart from the Ambre Russe. Good luck for today.
Wow, that sounds horrible. I hope you have a peaceful evening.
Oh, man. I hope you can keep the migraine away and get some sleep soon!
Ugh, how awful. Hope AR helps you to get through the day and leads you to a long, restful sleep this evening.
I am rockin’ with Robin today in Hypnotic Poison. Such a winderful perfume. I tried Pure Poison yesterday and liked that too. They had Opium on sale at the chemists so I gave it a spray and honestly didn’t see any resemblance to my ( memories of 1980s) Opium. The versionI tried yesterday seemed very diluted witha thin citrus opening. Maybe it’s just me not getting it. Lucky that my recent formulations of Loulou and Coco still smell gooooood.
So, it must be spring here! And Friday! And the last day of the school term! Hurray.
It’s really too bad the reformulation of Opium hasn’t been reworked and improved like other beloved classic scents.
Hey twin! And lucky you to be welcoming spring 🙂
Guerlain L’Instant is my scent of the day.
Nice!
Wearing Chanel 28 La Pausa- it is still summer in Michigan.
SOTD is SSS Yin and Ylang, which smells so wonderful it’s distracting me from my congestion and sinus headache. Wait, from my what? What was I saying? I don’t know and don’t care ’cause I smell so gooood!
Thank you, Hajusuuri!!!
I have that one..need to revisit
Snap! We smell fab-youuuu-lous!
I’ve discovered that I don’t have any Annick Menardo, Bois d’Armenie is on my list of FBs next time I leave our fair shores for a country that has a wider selection of Guerlains, and my sample is long gone.
So something else by Guerlain – Encens Mythique d’Orient.
Did you ever buy the CDG? Just wondering.
Am in Iris Ukiyoé, a perfect fit for a fall day that started out crisp and sunny and is getting warmer by the hour (not at all typical of Autumn here; wind and rain storms and flooding are just around the corner.)
I find this scent quite satisfying but the downside is that I have to drench myself in it to get it to show up and this morning’s wearing finished off my sample. Is there anything I should seek out with a similar silvery / carrot-y / cool iris note?
Have been assured that our apartment will be move-in ready Saturday, so I’ll be able to participate in next week’s project. Maybe I’ll do a chronological order line-up, beginning in 1870 and landing post-WWII by the end of the week…
I’m a fan of Iris Ukiyoe; I probably get complimented on it more than any other scent I wear. Really soft and just pleasant.
That said, I actually like Hermes Hiris even more. Otherwise maybe Honore des Pres I Love Les Carottes would suit you? I’ve not tried it but I hear great things. Olivia Giacobetti actually makes both and, in my view, you can’t go wrong with her.
Sorry, I should say that Olivia Giacobetti created both not makes both.
I have the same problem with Hiris that I do with Iris Ukiyoé – I have to drench myself in it for it to show up. I’ll put the Les Carottes on my list – it might be just the thing!
I love Iris Ukiyoe, too. Definitely agree with mjane3 about Hiris.
And there’s always the easy iris in Prada Infusion d’Iris. I like the EdP and the absolue. The EdT is popular too.
Prada Purple Rain has a very nice iris note, too.
SOTD = Lancome La Collection Climat. A perfect match for a gorgeous first day of fall. Why did I wait so long to open my little bottle and try this???
before I rush out of the house right now in my newly gifted decant of Chanel no 22 I just have to say that my “owl twin” (hajuusuri) is the bomb!!!!!
Oh, Fall. This year has been…something else. 2016 will go down in history for Something! No doubt about it.
Ok, that’s off me chest, vague statement as it is.
Wearing a quick spray of Burberry Brit Sheer (always lovely & fresh) for my annual wellness exam, then swung by Kheils and liberally applied their New Musk Oil on both wrists. Will get this one someday- rollarball will be plenty. Feels like i just got out of the shower, all clean human skin. (Doesn’t hurt that i did shower this morning before my appointment!!)
