Berdoues Russkaya Kozha ~ new fragrance

Posted by Robin on 20 September 2016 7 Comments

Berdoues Russkaya Kozha

French perfume house Berdoues will launch Russkaya Kozha, a new addition to the Colognes Grand Crus collection. Russkaya Kozha is an "elegant leather" fragrance, and follows the recently launched Vânira Moorea.

An invitation to travel across new lands, from Saint-Petersbourg to Moscow. Our perfumer reveals the beauty of Imperial Russia through a deep and distinguished assembly. Arising from a blend of the finest materials, Russkaya Kozha reveals a mysterious and intense fragrance thanks to the delicate assemblage of the Cade from Spain, Benzoin from Malaysia and Cardamom from Guatemala notes.

Berdoues Russkaya Kozha was developed by perfumer Flavien Laurandeau, and will be available in 100 ml.

Some of these gorgeous bottles were at Toulouse airport in the summer where I whiled away 30 minutes or so before my flight home. I liked a few of them but not enough to spring for a 100mls.

Though I was more seriously tempted by the candle versions….

Oh, interesting — now I’m tempted by the candle versions!

I have never bought for the bottle, but I do really love these. I need to try them so I can fall in love with one of the fragrances!

I did not exactly fall in love with any of them, but the Assam is a perfectly serviceable / enjoyable / no-brainer summer citrus tea and the elephant bottle is fantastic.

The dictionary informs me that cade is a type of juniper. Do you know if it smells like the juniper I know? That juniper smells like sort of like gin (and sometimes cat pee).

You’re thinking of juniper berry, which is one of the flavorings in gin, but this would be cade oil, distilled from the wood & bark -> smoky wood smell.

Ah, now that sounds much more like something I’d like to sniff.
