Rabbit, rabbit, rabbit! Happy Almost-Friday, and welcome, like it or not, to September. It's also Random Acts of Kindness Day, and Lily Tomlin's birthday. What fragrance are you wearing?
I'm in Dawn Spencer Hurwitz Kaleidoscope, again. I think this one is going on my buy list.
Reminder: On 9/2, our project will be How far does the apple fall from the tree? Wear a pillar fragrance on one arm, and one of its flankers on the other. Suggested by Happy888cat.
And for those of you who like to plan ahead, see Scent of the day ~ Friday community projects 2016, where I'll try to always have the next five or six weeks mapped out in advance.

Continuing my Sonia Rykiel tribute and smelling great and green in Rykiel Man. A great bargain buy. ???? And a long weekend.
Long weekend can’t hurt! Enjoy.
SOTD: Le Labo Gaiac 10. It’s that very special time of year when I talk myself in and out of buying it for the rest of the month!
PSA for fragonerds who are also regular nerds: M.A.C Star Trek hits counters today! I have my eye on the Khaaaaan! lipgloss, and maybe the Highly Illogical highlighter.
Thanks for the reminder, I’ve been waiting for this MAC collection.
I’ve been waiting for this and had completely forgotten. Thanks!
Wonderful! I wasn’t aware of this, I will have to get something, I’ve been a Star Trek fan most of my life.
SOTD is Rouge Bunny Rouge “Embers”.
Top: pink pepper, nutmeg, cloves;
Mid: incense, freesia, jasmine, labdanum
Base: wood notes, peru balsam, styrax.
A serviceable lightweight incense of the non-liturgical variety.
Well, I’m gonna have to find a sample of Dawn Spencer Hurwitz Kaleidoscope! Sounds too good to miss!!
My parfum du jour: La Perla J’aime les Fleurs. Will soon be time to put this away and reach for deeper fall scents, but this is a goodie!
Hark! Friday approaches! 🙂
It is a little offbeat, with some vague relationship maybe to Annick Goutal Folavril but a little bit weirder and closer to unisex.
I’m wearing Atelier Cologne Rose Anonyme from a sample. Nice enough, but I wouldn’t want a bottle.
Practicing for tomorrow–I am wearing M7 and M7 Fresh. I like them both but they have nothing to do with each other.
I am drinking some MG Montagne d’Or. It is very fruity.
I remember that MG! I need to do another MG order one of these days, although I have hardly made a dent in the 2 or 3 I got last time. Too much tea!
Oops — MF, we’re talking MF, right?
It’s now officially called Mariage Grères 😉
The long weekend can’t arrive soon enough. Sotd will be a couple of sprays of Smugglers Soul on my wrists and a dab of Kerbside Violet fiber cream in my hair.
Kerbside Violet fiber cream?
Yes. I’d bought a tub of Everyman Jack’s unscented matte finish fiber cream. Great product but not very pleasant to the nose. It had a horribly sterile, embalming fluid scent so I remedied the situation by melting down a quarter of a tin of Kerbside Violet solid perfume and mixing it in. I now realize why they add parfum to everything. Cosmetic ingredients do not smell so great on their own.
Brilliant!
I am surprised at how nicely it turned out and I’m sure you could do the same thing with an unscented lotion, conditioner, or any number of other products.
Thank you, and sorry if I made you repeat something you’d posted before!
Oh so right about the smell of cosmetic ingredients. Many years ago when I was using Neutrogena soap my drugstore started stocking an “unscented” version and a “fragrance free” version. Fragrance free was disgusting!!
I agree that there’s a good reason that you see parfum/fragrance in an ingredient list, even though there is no specific scent is intended.
Your solution to fix the problem is brilliant.
Don’t let the screen door hitcha on the butt on the way out, August. (Good riddance.)
I’m in a wonderful rut of Le Temps d’une Fete.
You hate Summer as much as I hate Winter. I turned my calendar this morning with an overwhelming sense of dread.
My mini wall calendar still says May 🙂
I really bate summer in the Northeast U.S. Good riddance to it. Fall can’t come soon enough!
I’m with ya, lillyjo! I’m a HOT weather gal….I should move to Key West! LOL Cold weather? Forgettaboutit! I get cold in September and don’t warm back up until March! 🙂
In the same bandwagon, lillyjo. I can live with September but October will make me really sad.
I feel the same way.
Aaaaamen!
Ditto! So happy fall is getting closer the I can hardly contain my joy! We still have a good 2-2 1/2months of summer left here, but we are on the way to less humidity and cooler temps ????
Very wonderful.
You smell wonderful!!! But I am very sorry to see our short and lovely summer end. We are on track for a hot September, so I am happy about that! A month of heating bills will equal a very nice bottle of fragrance!!! 😉
Encre Noire Sport (Lalique). I know, I know… Applied sparingly, hopefully will be almost gone by the time I hit the gym after lunch.
Hey, works for tomorrow’s project!
Not sure I’m up to wearing EN Sport again tomorrow, but perhaps I could “virtually” remember it. The original is way better, my favorite vetiver.
The photo looks like Miffy
I am in the same as yesterday
The Guerlain? – sounds lovely.
yes! Les Elixirs Charnels Gourmand Cocquin
I was also about to remark that it looked like a Sanrio character!
Histoires de Parfum 1969. Going to the Louis Vuitton launch this afternoon at Ogilvy – if you’re in Montreal, it’s from 12-4.
That one is pretty delicious!
I was at Ogilvy’s this morning, didn’t know about the launch, I tried SL Bapteme de feu and I quite liked it. Please let us know what you thought and have fun.
So the launch was really fun, I liked most of the scents, especially Mille Feux and Matière Noire. The bottles are pretty too.
Wearing the Vanilla of all vanilla’s, l’Artisan’s Vanilia. Drinking MF Bel Ami.
Vanilia is the ultimate, isn’t it? I have a whole lot of vanillas (a bunch of Maison de la Vanille, a bunch of the CSPs, and some others besides), and Vanilia is the king. Discontinuing it, or rather reworking it into Havana Vanille slash Vanille Absolument, was such a mistake.
I do really like Havana Vanille ( I have a bottle), but I like Vanilia a lot more.
My favorite vanilla scent ever
Ohh, I do like Vanilia and am glad I snagged a bottle while it was still available. 🙂
So am I, a brilliant slightly trashy scent, which makes it even greater.
I also had MF tea this morning
In vintage Monsieur de Givenchy today. Lovely stuff.
September came crashing in with a massive thunderstorm that ran on and off for most of the night and woke me at 5:09 a.m. with some of the loudest thunder I have ever heard. Awesome!
I’m in ELdO Eloge du Traitre. Like a slightly less aggressive Krizia Uomo: they have the same herby-piney-leathery structure. Great stuff.
I love a good thunderstorm.
Me too!
Me three!
I’m in Opus IV, which is a bit too spicy for today’s weather. It’s the most spicy of all the Library Collection. For some reason I put this in my sample stash to use up now instead of later this winter when it’s probably more appropriate. Oh well.
Reports week has started. I’m not overly stressed out about it for a change because I changed up my work schedule so I’m not drowning in stuff. I think I’ll easily have most of it done by the end of tomorrow.
The weather is supposed to be gorgeous this weekend so I think we’re putting the kitchen reno on hold to go hiking.
Enjoy the good weather and your hike
I ordered samples of a bunch of the Opus series yesterday, looking forward to trying them.
SOTD is Habit Rouge. Looking forward to tomorrow’s project.
Passage d’enfer.
Goodby summer hate it.
I will never remember to say Rabbit Rabbit Rabbit – what is wrong with me?? 🙂
I chose 24, Faubourg today, and I smell fabulous if I do say so myself.
yes you do!
I deliberately thought to myself last night, I have to remember the “rabbit thing” tomorrow. And then promptly forgot about it until I logged in this morning. . . :-/
Amazing!
I’ve been praising Feminite du Bois to several people recently, so I’m wearing it today. A (French) colleague actually recognised what I’m wearing when I passed her in the corridor – turns out she has a bottle as well. So nice.
It’s the best kind of compliment, isn’t it? I used to work with a lab tech who loved perfume but had a limited collection and a good nose. I recently worked with her again and she instantly commented on my perfume. It smelled unusual and classy, according to her. I was wearing Songe d’un Bois d’Eté.
I love Feminite de Bois generally but especially in Autumn. I love it when someone recognises what I am wearing in a good way.
What a nice thing to happen.
You smell beautiful. One of my favorite’s Autumn scents.
Twins! It means I have capitulated and accepted Autumn’s arrival?
What a perfect scent for the start of September, and so nice when someone recognises you’re perfume.
Chanel No. 5 Premiere.
I’m starting to get clothes together for my France trip. We leave Wednesday ☺. Yay!
I’ve been checking out blogs for guidance as to what to pack. It looks like the weather will be hot. Some articles say no sandals, while some say sandals are okay as long as they’re dressy. Some say do not wear heels. I was going to pack heels for dinner (two dinners in particular), but I don’t want to look out of place. Then, I was thinking of wearing keds with a sundress, but some blogs say absolutely no tennis shoes. My daughter said I’m over thinking this, but I’d like to look nice.
I’m confused! Still happy though.
Flats, sandals, keds, heels all are fine if you ask me (I wore sandals and ballerina’s during our trip in France, all good)! Maybe Annikky can give her view too.
Keds with a dress is adorable and I’ve seen old school sneakers all over Europe, although Chuck Taylor’s more than Keds. But close enough.
Keds aren’t tennis shoes. I wear them all the time. They are perfect and really inconspicuous. Have a great trip!!!
I tend to overthink when I pack for France as well, especially Paris. It’s such a chic city and yet you want to be comfortable. Sneakers are fine. I bring my black ones 😉
Hope it’s an awesome trip!
I’m sure u will look and feel gr8 in whichever shoes u take (I’d take all of them!) I smelt Eau Premiere for first time recently, so gorgeous, on my list for next year.
Thanks! That’s what I’m going to do — bring all of them ! They don’t weight that much.
Its better to have and not need, than to need and not have, right?? 🙂
SOTD is Le Labo Bergamotte 22. Still battling allergy sinus face, so avoiding anything heavy or challenging.
you smell lovely!
Love.
Auphorie Eternal Voyage. Getting to the dregs of my sample. I really like it so will contemplate whether I *need* to have more of it.
Great choice. I was really impressed with all of the fragrances in their line (Myako being the favorite)
I only tried 3 of them- I wasn’t drawn to even try Elfin Spring. Did you try that one? I like Miyako but probably wouldn’t wear it. Regal Secret I could barely smell after 5 minutes. This one I really like and would wear it. It seems seasonless as well.
Elfin springs was nice but too green for me – I could appreciate the quality. I can see it being a hit. Regal secret is lite on me as well but I spray it on clothes – it adds to staying power.
Huh. I thought it would be an aquatic floral. I like greens. Next time…
I like the name 😉
I remembered to quietly say rabbit, rabbit, rabbit when I woke up at 2 because my back hurt. I hope that counts, because it was NOT the first thing I said when my husband nudged me and asked if I was getting up today 😉
I’m starting out in Azemour and will report back on the SOTAfternoon when the lawn is done. I rarely have back troubles but am really very uncomfortable today. I sneezed out of nowhere yesterday morning when I was laying on my back and didn’t get my abs engaged and my knees pulled up in time. Seems like an especially stupid way to injure myself and is making me extra snarly about it.
Hope you’re feeling better soon.
Of course it counts, and hope the rabbit magic fixes your back.
Ouch! Hope it mends very soon. Sportsmen are always injuring themselves getting out of bed or running baths.
Oh yay, I have a pretty new colour! Much nicer than the olive green I had before.
Hope you’re back to normal soon. Squash that pain.
Vintage Miss Dior, which i borrowed from my mom. Back when I was a kid, this was a fragrance I simply couldn’t understand — to me, it smelled sharp and ugly. Alongside black coffee (bah! it’s bitter and weird) and Billy Joel songs (boooring), I thought it was one of those things that grown ups convince themselves that they like.
Now that I’m approaching my 30s, black coffee is really the only coffee I drink, and I quite like Billy Joel. I also adore Miss Dior Original, and the way it develops on skin& In fact, I don’t really understand how I could call it ugly! Miss Dior is complex and beautiful.
I only came to appreciate Miss Dior recently as well. My nose was not sophisticated enough to appreciate it until later in life. You smell fabulous!
SOTD is my first corporate “niche”: Stella by Stella McCartney. I wasn’t in the mood for roses for most of summer, but now that fall is just around the corner, it seemed like the right choice. I haven’t worn this for a very long time and I’m really enjoying it today.
you smell great!
Thanks!
SOTD is Volutes Edt, which I still love. A lot.
OOTD is denim skinnies with zippers at the ankle, which jangle nicely when I walk and remind me of the jingle of spurs. Top half is a dark raspberry silk shirt, and shoes are neutral blingy gladiators.
I’m venturing out today into the wetness. We have had about a foot of rain here, and I’m hoping everyone path of Hermine makes it through without any damage. For some, I think the worst is yet to come. Stay safe and smelling good, NSTers!
you smell wonderful, and the outfit sounds fun!
You look and smell good. Now to pick out a fragrance and outfit that goes with waders…Just kidding. I hope you can stay high and dry. We are going to get a bit of rain in a few days but not like you guys. Take care!!!
Volutes edit is in my top 10, and outfit sounds fab too!
Wore Guerlain French Kiss yesterday for a first date and we might be seeing each other again tonight so I guess I’ll be wearing it again today since he said I smelled nice. Grin.
Hope you have another fabulous date tonight????
French kiss may lead to a kiss! good luck
French Kiss led to many kisses last night. Tonight we’re cooking dinner together
Sweet!
Nice!!!
Ooh, lovely!
SOTD Kenzo Amour Florale. This is a nice white floral, citrusy scent. It is fresh, clean, airy with a very good longevity and sillage on me. Another Kenzo that I enjoy a lot during Summer time.
Wearing D&G Light Blue today. It’s nostalgic because when my friend visited from Vienna she brought a bottle with her (it was her signature scent,) but then unfortunately dropped it on the ceramic tile floor and the bottle broke. Really upsetting, but a good memory because my bathroom smelled like her for quite a while, thereby completely solidifying the scent memory and perfume association.
My older sister wears Light Blue pretty much as a signature scent, and it is very pretty.
I’m wearing Marni today. I am looking forward to Autumn, which is probably my favorite time of year. In my part of Texas we have mild Winters and lovely Springs, hellish Summers, and beautiful Autumns.
A commentor on BdJp sent me a sample of Scherrer Eau de Parfum (I’m not sure if that is easily available in the US) and I wearing it. This is really very good, close to no 19 and possibly, just maybe, even better. She also sent me Jasmine White Moss, very close to Cristalle, Diorella, OJ Tiare. Very lovely. Discontinued but in the Netherlands still availabe. And can one have too many chypres?
Too many chypres? No such thing!
Chypre enabler pin earned!
You cannot have too many chypres!!!!!!!!!!!
Dear Ann, this is the 3rd enabler pin you receive from me!
Acqua di Parma Iris Nobile, Chamade Extrait and now Scherrer as one cannot have too many chypres!!!!
The Scherrer is a beautiful chypre, and my half bottle is a cherished treasure. The Scherrer II, on the other hand, is a hot chemical mess on my skin.
It is beautiful indeed! Is it easil available in the US?
sorry: easily
You smell terrific! I just discovered Scherrer through BdJ too.
Thank you! I spritzed it almost 8 hours ago, and there is still a trace of wonderful oakmoss.
Too many chypres?- never!
Happy “Friday Eve” everyone! I am sneaking away from my work just for a few so I can comment. Wearing my all-time favorite perfume today; Nectarine Blossom & Honey by Jo Malone. I recently ran out of a bottle and purchased another one along with Blackberry and Bay. I can see Donatella shaking her head at me saying with a smirk, “You’ve been a very bad girl!” Miss talking to you guys……am going to try to do better. 🙂
By the way Robin, just curios, my avatar (little picture symbol) changed. Did everyone’s change recently. I just noticed that.
edit: curious
Apparently they all did, but I did not even know until somebody pointed it out this week. Has something to do with Gravatar.com, which is where the avatars all come from whether you specify one with a custom picture or not. Sorry if you don’t like your new one, there’s nothing I can do! And for all I know they will go back to how they were.
Or, it only takes about 5 minutes to set up a custom one, assuming you already have a picture in mind…
No biggie. Just noticed something was different.
I’m wearing Rose d’Ete. Working on an article about apple notes.
I love that one.
it makes me think of you!
apple notes in perfume?
Yep.
Cannot wait to read that. Apple notes are among my favourites.
Ooh, sounds good!, remember reading an article by Kevin bemoaning the lack of a perfect autumn apple fragrance.. (the review escapes me)
SOTD is LAP Oeillet Sauvage from my new sample. A very pretty spicy/powdery carnation.
You smell lovely.
Parked in a doctor’s waiting room scentless again. A spray decant of Wazamba at the ready in my purse.
I can’t ever help but smile when I read Wazamba. No matter what, I always hear it as if the Muppets “Animal” is saying WAZAMBA!
Now I am smiling too
Me 3!
Me four!! I love it!
Wazamba is on my list of future FBs, it’s at least partly the name!
SOTD is Acqua di Colonia, feeling bright and sunny and citusy coool, as I open all my new samples that arrived while on vacation!!
Testing Al Lai by Sultan Pasha from a sample set. Truly impressive Musc.
I am really impressed with his stuff, but I find most of it to be a little outside my comfort zone. I did wear some Cite des Anges the other day, love the opening, but the dry down is a little to musky for me.
Do you have any favorites?
I really like Al Lai, Sohain d’Iris and Tobacco. Nam waiting for a sample of Cite des Anges – using Dorian in fragrances is very impressive. I also loved Pure Incense, Thebes and Reve Narcotique. I liked the rest of his line as well but these are Loves 🙂 I just wish they came as sprayers, but I am slowly getting used to the attars.
Wearing the last remnants of SJP’s Stash from a quick Ulta run. Might have gone a bit overboard with the paper/ skin/ clothing testing in the store, but it’s important to know these things!
I was afraid it might be too similar to 1270, which I already own and love, but I think it is just a step or two over the unisex line towards masculine, while 1270 has more gourmand-ness. I also don’t find it to have a true “BO” note as referenced in the ad copy. It’s more like that skin feeling you have after wearing a scent the whole day, not necessarily low on projection, but soft and blurred around the edges.
IMO, definitely a great SJP addition and will be coming home with me for a place in the fall lineup.
Everyone who crosses my path today will be blasted by roses. Showered with Rose Jam, lotioned with Korres Japanese Rose body butter, and topped it off with Rose Flash. You’re welcome, Cleveland!
Cleveland never smelled better!
Good for you! You are a one gal parade of roses.
Public service!
Love this. 🙂
They should give you the key to the city
Applause????
Nice 🙂 Is Rose Jam a limited product – they never have it when I make it to Lush
If you swap out the Korres for the Lush Ro’s Argan, you have my frequent nighttime routine 🙂 It’s a great one, and leaves me enveloped in gorgeousness.
Ooh, I may have to hit the mall on my way home. You’ve earned yourself a Lush enabler pin.
Hooray!!! Let me push you a little more by telling you that Ro’s Argan is the most marvelous body product I have ever smelled or used.
While you’re there, be sure to check out my other favorites: Celestial face cream and Angels on Bare Skin face wash. 🙂
You’re preaching to the choir. I’ve been a devoted Lushie for years!????
Ha! That’s some heavy duty rose you got going on. Love the jam!
I’m wearing Bois de Violette today!
Lucky you! Love that one.
September 1st always seems to me to be the definitive end of summer.
I went with a melancholic, subtle scent partially due to the date and partially because I have my 1st cello lesson after work in a house with a very new newborn and don’t want to create any issue. Mitsouko EDT
How fun! I love the cello. Do you play other instruments?
I have decades of playing clarinet, but I have always wanted to play the cello. 1st lesson went well..
I used to play cello but stopped in high school. One day when life is not so crazy (ha ha) I plan to pick it up again. You have my admiration!
I have a 20 yr gap in my clarinet playing, and I was amazed how quickly it came back to me. Guaranteed you have a community orchestra in your area.
Omnia on one wrist, Crystalline on the other. Omnia started out promising, floral and spicy and a little creamy all at the same time, but now all I smell is the Crystalline fabric softener. Don’t get me wrong, it’s nice fabric softener, I would love if my fabric softener smelled like this (for various reasons we use unscented detergents).
Crystalline is better than most fabric softener fragrances! but all the same I wish my laundry all smelled like Omnia 😉
Woke up all grumpy and sorry for myself this morning. Eau de Celeri to lighten the mood and it seems to be working.
Hope the day is improving!
Testing How Fall Is It? by wearing Shiseido Feminite de Bois. It’s pretty spiced-sweater and cola fall, all right, even if the sun is back.
Have you tried the new version of FdB? Can you compare the two versions?
I have tried it, thanks to a lovely NST-er. It has the same elements of the original, but without the fuzzy texture that I love, and is a little shinier, glassier, and flatter. I could easily see someone preferring the new to the old, as I think the old has a bit of funk to it, too.
Still jealous of you’re FDB!
Heh, I’m a little impressed that I bought it early in my perfume-person-thrift-shopping (for the bottle almost as much as for the intriguing cola-ish scent inside it) as I didn’t know one thing from another then…perhaps even before I read The Guide??
Plus it was under 10$ ;-0
Wow! I’m truly in awe of your deal-finding. The closest I’ve come was a syrupy brown half-bottle of CK Truth for $5. I failed to pull the trigger on that 😉
OK, we’ll go on a thrift mission sometime soon. I’m ashamed to say that I passed on all kinds of things before meeting you guys, but now that I have a local posse of potential perfume appreciators, I am much more likely to pull triggers.
Yay for Random Acts of Kindness Day, that’s what the world needs more of. Also, double yay for Lily Tomlin. I heard her on the radio recently. She is fabulously funny.
SotD = Guerlain Champs Elysees EdT.
It’s a bit of hairspray, a bit of nail polish remover, then screechy woods, if that’s a thing. I think the sandalwood in modern fragrances doesn’t work for my nose, it overwhelms the rest of the scent.
Which means nowhere to go but onward and upward from here. Hurray!
For me, september came with a cold. I’m wearing De profundis, witch is a very fall-y scent for me.
You smell lovely.
Beautiful
SOTD = Chanel No. 19 EDP
I figured I better not rely on Karma anymore for spine stiffening. i had a good call with the person/ team that wanted me to perform a miracle for which I said no and which got escalated to my manager. My manager did not even bother to respond. In any case, crisis averted for now, helped along by retail therapy yesterday. Donatella would be proud:
Chanel No. 22 EDT – where have I been, missing this gorgeous perfume!
Chanel Eau de Cologne – had been on my To Buy list for a while
Hermes Eau de Rhubarbe Ecarlate Shower Gel – so good and refreshing. I don’t normally like red but the bottle color just POPS!
I also got a sample of Penhaligon’s Luna, Prada L’Homme, Prad Infusion d’Iris Almande and a bunch of Hermes samples.
Other PSA:
Estee Lauder at Macy’s has a really cute GWP with $35 purchase. You get to choose your zipper pull – panda, bee, elephant, monkey or beetle.
Longchamp @ Macys Herald Square and I tend to think in the standalone boutiques – you can drop off your bag to be fixed for free. I am rough on my bags and my tote has a tiny hole in each corner of the bottom of the bag. I asked the SA how best to fix it and she said just bring it in and as long as it is authentic regardless of where you bought it, they will send it in to their factory and you’ll get it back in 4-8 weeks. What is NOT good is now I want to get a Le Pilage Cuir shoulder bag — oy!
And you can do the leather ones in all kinds of crazy combinations on their website…just sayin’…
I’ll probably end up with black on black 🙂
That’s great to know about the Longchamp bags. A couple of my oldest ones have been retired in great sorrow due to disintegrating seams.
I was originally going to use duct tape!
Coach used to have a similar warranty but they have since imposed a $25 handling fee. I met someone last year who used to work at Coach and he said that the company switched to cheaper metals that do not last quite as long as the brass ones in the vintage / classic line. I’ve had repairs done to numerous bags and was very disappointed with the last repair as they did a shoddy job and did not notice other metal loops that got scraped paper thin AND the shoulder strap got damaged when it was carelessly folded inside the bag. Anyway, I will bring it back th next time I visit a Coach store.
Hajusuuri, I do love the zest with which you approach therapy!
Well, I was itching to use a coupon and a gift card and retail therapy just happened to scratch the itch!
Nice!!! I have been debating No 22 for a while – just the size of it scares me.
I was able to get the 75 mL. It is fairly potent and I think it will be renamed 2-spray 22!
Applause!
Taking a bow!
I saw that EL deal! So cute.
Nice therapy you got there 😉
It’s very satisfying 🙂
I am SHOCKED that you only now discovered you love no 22…that is on my top 10 of all time list 🙂 (meanwhile I only have a small vial of it-LOL!)
You know I always got it confused with No.18 which is yuck. I knew I wanted a bottle of Eau de Cologne and then as soon as I smelled 22, I KNEW it was going to be the other bottle within my Retail Therapy budget. When I’m in the mood to decant again, I’ll send you some (email me whenever…I still have to finish mailing the rest of the packages from the last freebiemeet)!
Good choices! Love no. 22.
Wearing Petit Matin again…
I am sampling Antonio Alesandria Nuit Rouge this morning. I thought I would love it from the note list, but it’s a generic woody musk with a citrus/rhubarb top note on me. However, yesterday’s Dilettante that I thought was just okay turned out to have a gorgeous drydown that lasted until I washed it off this morning. I need some more of it so I can ignore it the first four hours or so and then huff my wrists for the next 20.
I can’t believe it’s September already.
You’ve managed to kill my reserve about Dilletante completely just by going from meh to Yes! I’m going to have to fly in blind on this one….enabler pin for you!
I am seriously thinking about offering it at the Splitmeet. Are you in the US?
Oh, thanks for noting but alas I’m in Canada
SOTD is Diorissimo.
Lily Tomlin role I’m particularly fond of: Debbie Fiderer on The West Wing. (And her Snow White fantasy sequence in Nine to Five is classic.)
Will endeavor (more than usual) to practice at least one random act of kindness today.
Have an excellent day, NSTers.
Totally and completely forgot she was on West Wing! Right.
I for one will miss summer, although it was too hot and humid in the NE US. Sounds like it will be warm through mid-October, by which time I will be really annoyed and actually ready for winter!
SOTD D600. Yesterday was Misia. Iris is my ‘have to go to the office and be an adult’ note.
You smell great! I love D600.
Thank you!
Dreary day here in NYC, thought I’d bring some sunshine into it with Diptyque’s Eau des Sens. I’m liking this one more and more.
I will miss summer. I do love the warm days except for the extremely- humid-without-any-breeze-stretch we had in August. That was rough and not enjoyable. But the longer days, easy dress and delicious fruit & vegetables I can’t get enough of.
I’m getting excited about all the new fall scents being announced!
I wish there was a way to buy a sample bag of everything new out there for each season 😉
I used to buy doubles of the LuckyScent seasonal packs but found myself ignoring them.
I’ll swap my summer for your fall :-). Would you believe Pumpkin Spice Latte is back already???
Pumpkin spice latte! No!?!
Seriously, I feel like that was just on their menu.
Late today, ‘cos I went out to the ballet last night, then woke in the early morning to two earthquakes, then back to sleep agsin until 6.30! mean, 6.30! I’m going to work at home, interspersing writing with housework and phone meetings, so I have sprayed Vanilke Galante with liberal insouciance…how I love the way I smell! Yum, yummier, yummiest, all technical expressions in perfume-speak.
Hey, while I’m thinking of it, let me share a little gem from a student assignment:”….so the bestliest solution under the circumstances would be…..” Bestliest! Excellent word! I like the idea of combining it with “somewhat universal” (I’m sure the marketeers wouldn’t mind): ” although the solution is only somewhat universal, it does seem to be the bestliest that can be managed….” A colleague had a conversation with her daughter yesterday, in which the daughter, frighteningly intelligent and the holder of an MSc with first class honours, announced that she had always thought that commas are mainly decorative, so she simply places them where they will be most aesthetically pleasing.
I love life when it’s full of absurdities like these!
I’m sorry, I can’t resist – you smell the bestliest!
????
Ha! In my senior year of college many many many moons ago, I almost answered an interviewer’s “Are you assertive?” question with “I think so.”
Ha! Good comeback.
Five sprays of 10 Corso Como to get through a very, very scary presentation that may determine my future. Not sure how the presentation went, but at least I smell great.
Good luck!
You do smell great!
I shamlessly borrowed the idea of layering Coromandel with Sycamore today. It is also my birthday today so I am enjoying a pedicure while writing this post. It’s a good day! ☺
Oops that’s Sycomore…
Happy birthday!
Happy Birthday petunia, u smell wonderful!
Happy Birthday, Petunia!
Oh, yay! Happy birthday to you!

Happy Birthday, Petunia, hope it was a great one. 🙂
Happy birthday, Petunia!
Happy birthday!
Posting very late, so I hope you see this! Happy birthday, Petunia!
Layering Marni and Hippie Rose again, very nice and easy combination.
Watching Kate Bush clips on BBC program about 70’s music- such a maverick, what an awesome talent.
Ran out of the house this morning on my first day of work wearing OUd Al Sahraa.
New job? If so, congrats!
Has any tested Burning Rose by Carolina Herrera?
A you tube perfumista was talking it up this summer. She was saying that is beautiful rose scent. I think it’s part of sort of exclusive range that is much priced than her regular line. Anyway, this Perfumista has an amazing perfume collection so when she singles out a particular scent, it gets my attention.
That should read much pricer than her regular line…
I’ve became addicted to perfume YouTube videos, but must have missed this one. I’m going to try and find it.
The Blogger is Ami loves Perfume. She’s been mentioned here before.
Fate Man by Amouage is my scent today. I’m hoping my daydream of the Corsican shore isn’t too off base – I’ve never been there. I get a lot of immortelle but it’s bone dry – only a hint of dessicated maple syrup, and more of the curry notes. Sun-drenched herbs, rocks, and sand. Bonus, someone at work said I smelled good! That never happens.
I don’t own any perfumes that have flankers so I’m not sure how to participate in tomorrow’s theme…two by the same house?
I don’t think that I have any flankers either. I’ll have to double check. Sounds like you received a nice compliment today. 🙂
