Happy Hump Day, and happy National Lazy Day! What fragrance are you wearing?
I'm wearing Estee Lauder Bronze Goddess whipped body cream.
Reminder: on 8/12 we're doing Fabulous but fleeting — wear a perfume you love even though it doesn't last as long as it should. Suggested by Mariann.
And for those of you who like to plan ahead, see Scent of the day ~ Friday community projects 2016, where I'll try to always have the next five or six weeks mapped out in advance.

Fab & fleeting Limon Verde
Perfect for this humid cloudy NYC day
Tea MF french breakfast
Enjoying watching the Olympics- amazing swimming last night
Have a wonderful day
THe swimming was exciting, wasn’t it?
My husband was off the couch yelling at the TV during Phelps race last night..he almost lost!
I really like watching the relays! It is exciting!!
At work wayyyyyy to early for a conference call.
Chinatown, sprayed with abandon, was my only choice.
Love Chinatown 🙂
That postcard is adorable. I’m wearing a little vintage Diorella.
In other news, I’m almost out of my 30 ml bottle of NR for Her, which sadly they don’t seem to make anymore (the size I mean, not the perfume).
What are you going to do? Worth repurchasing ?
Not sure…I don’t really want a huge bottle but I do wear it pretty frequently! I’ll have to see if I’m happy with the current formulation I guess. I might also replace it with the white-bottle Narciso instead….
I have a box of four 10 ml EDT (I think) sprays of NR for Her and I would be happy to send you one…three are unused.
I am pretty sure it is the EDT and not the EDP…I will check when I get home. They are manufacturer refills for some atomizer they sell.
Let me know…you can reach me via the good folks at gmail where I am sherainsocal too…
Wow, thank you!!
Fab but fleeting Thé Vert, lotion and EDT. I would love one of those swimming costumes, actually.
Tea is an Azorean Orange Pekoe.
The Vert is fleeting on me as well..
Never tried The Vert, but The Blanc is gone immediately. The Bleu lasts a good while though, waiting to get a bottle.
Bleu is very pretty, but Vert is my firm favourite. I can actually still detect traces of it 6 hours later, but that glorious opening is gone in minutes.
The Bleu lasts a long time for me also.
Orange Pekoe here too, East Frisian Blend from Upton. The package says product of Germany…
Probably blended there. I remember once doing a high tea somewhere and the pushy waitress telling us for the umpteenth time that they used local produce only. Upon which my friend mentioned that tea was a common crop in the Netherlands.
I’m wearing The Vert too. It’s my favorite. I’ve found that, since going vegan, many fragrances as fleeting.
Jour d’Hermes – 20 minutes
Shalimar eau legere – same
The Vert – hours!
Weird.
Tea = English Breakfast
Great postcard. Wearing Mona di Orio’s Rose Etoile de Hollande and I am very impressed with it. You have to get along with peach and heliotrope though. And this is far from fleeting.
Robin, you smell great and your skin is looking dewy, youthful, and glowing!
No scent yet, but wondering what I may have that coincides with National Lazy Day. Pretty sure they created this day just for me ????
I thinking I’ll go with Volures EDT. I’ve hardly been wearing that since I heard they have discontinued it, probably because I’m subconsciously afraid of running out.
Eagerly awaiting fall and winter in this neck of the woods so summer can’t be gone too quickly for me. Happy Hump Day to all.
Ha, exactly, thank you!
Arguably on lazy day you should not be bothered to put on scent at all 😉
You could have someone put it on for you…
Oh how I wish I could enjoy National Lazy Day the way I’m sure was intended. Instead I’m in Chanel 19 EDP to power myself through the day – today it feels comforting, somehow. I guess it IS comforting to have a spine of steel, now that I think about it.
SOTD Assam of India
TORW Songes EDT , courtesy of Holly :)…my third time testing it and each time I get cumin , which is a note that usually doesn’t agree with me…and yet I am still intrigued by Songes! Ironically my younger niece who has allergies and can be quite opinionated about some of my fragrance choices actually likes this one…go figure!
Songes is very beautiful, I don’t mind the cumin note.
I ordered a sample of Assam of India -it should come this friday.
is there cumin in it? I did not even think there was but for some reason my skin seems to amplify what I perceive to be cumin…and obviously despite this I like Songes since this is now my third time testing it!
Did you order the Assam from smallflower.com? They have some really nice samples and reasonable prices (plus free shipping!)
I think there is cumin though its not listed. Anyone else?
I’ve got the EDP which to my nose doesn’t include any cumin.
I’m going to ditto on that with the edp – I think that the edt has a really skanky jasmine that is different from the edp. You should try the edp – it’s creamier, sultrier and the ylang-ylang and vanilla more rich – the jasmine is more sweet, not skanky.
Yes…maybe its the skank I am thinking is cumin. Thanks for your tip AnnS
Thanks, y’all for the tip…will try the EDP when I can 🙂
I found a sample I hadn’t tried yet, so I’m wearing that today. I think I got it from the lovely ihadanidea when she sent me several samples.
It’s a very clean tuberose scent and although I wasn’t entirely impressed when I first put it on, it ended up being rather pleasant. Started off with a strong alcohol/watery note, but then settled into a white floral that was just a teensy bit dirty – but in a good way. It’s now very faint on me so I guess it works with this week’s theme. It’s not fab, but definitely fleeting considering I put half the vial on.
Totally forgot to mention the name: Shalini.
I tried that one as well, and didn’t love it. I found it too soapy. Which is fine because it’s $$$$!
It is amazing how much this one costs. It’s nice, but it’s not anything overly special to my mind.
That post card is so cute. I love it. I think I’m going to go with L’Eau Trois. I want to be on vacation somewhere hot and dry but L’Eau Trois is the closest I’m going to get today. I see that l’occitane is bringing back some of their classic scents. They have Eau des Quatre Voleurs and Eau d’Iparie so far on the Canadian site. I’ve heard great things about both. I’ll have to look for them in stores.
Really!!!!
Feuilles d’Oranger is one of my favs! I was so so sad when that one went away…
I wonder if that will come back
None of those are on the USA site as being back..
I hope that one makes a reappearance too. I’ve read good stuff about it. L’occitane actually had some pretty nice stuff. I love their Vetyver.
I used to have Eau d’Iparie and really liked it. Looking for it after it was discontinued is how I fell into the rabbit hole and discovered blogs and reviews. I wonder how I’d feel about it now.
It’s always fun to revisit old favorites. This one won’t be the steal it once was though. The re-releases are $75 a bottle here in Canada.
You smell great, Jonas!
Thanks.
Continuing my voyage around Linari ‘seaside’ scents. Or, that was the plan. I thought “Angelo di Fiume” (Angel of the River) might be stretching a point (sea, river…) but it turns out to be a river of sugary vanilla caramels. It’s not even fun, like the silly CSP scents I tried last week, it’s just a candy horror show! I am being buried alive under a river of smiley pastel-coloured sugar kittens! HELP!!! :^)
You need some vetiver to tame those sugar kittens. 😀
Or a gas mask…
Best spray those kittens with some water (and soap) ????
I don’t mean to laugh at your pain, but… 😀
I know, it can’t be helped
I baled out of the Linari (it didn’t have fantastic persistence anyway).
Now trying Eight & Bob’s “Egypt”.
Top: Lavender, oakmoss, basil, lemon
Mid: Cardamom, Nutmeg, spice notes
Base: Sandalwood, Leather, Patchouli, amber.
Nah, too generic somehow and the nutmeg is very soapy on me, so I’ll just use it as a liferaft to float away from the sugar kitten posse, and then abandon it on the beach when I hit dry land. I kind of agree with the unkind reviewer who said that as a perfume company, Eight & Bob write good books.
Ha! That is so funny, love it 🙂
Still enjoying the sample of Baccarat Rouge 540 (MFK).
Since I was running late I grabbed what was available on top of my dresser, which turned out to be my coffret of mini Nest fragrances. I chose Indigo. Meh.
The one Nest I really love is Midnight Fleur
This thing is lingering on my skin like nobody’s business. I tried scrubbing with hand sanitizer, and it is still there. It has gone from meh to OMG, get it off!
That is the response I have had to all of the Nest perfumes I’ve tried. It’s a shame because I love the bottles and the prices are doable.
I found the remains of my little tester of Tam Dao yesterday and, remembering it as very short-lived, sprayed a bit on. It smelled lovely for about five minutes before it triggered a migraine. Of course, all the scrubbing on earth wouldn’t dislodge it and I can still pick up a hint this morning. My memory of why I never wear it seems to have been at fault.
Today I am wearing something that I know is fleeting and won’t give me a headache, Box of Eels Parfum. One of these days I’m going to finish my sample and be sad but I just can’t justify a bottle.
I hate when it will not come off! Hope your poor head feels better.
Thanks. Much better, even after a lovely three hours in the car with the kitties. My husband bailed on me and the radio is a no-no with them, so I narrated the entire trip for their benefit.
The sad thing is that I love Tam Dao, I just can not wear it comfortably. Same thing happens with 10 Corso Como and a few other pleasant woodsy scents.
Ugh, so sorry!
I need to sit down tonight and replay some Olympic action! Sounds like Phelps is on fire! 🙂
SOTD: Estee Lauder Pleasures Pop.
Enjoy your day everyone!
He is! Google has a cool way to let you replay the events.
Perfume heart was more reasonable today (possibly influenced by a morning run in the humidity): Pamplelune.
My day started off dealing with some passive aggressive staff looking for a scape goat. Ugh. At least I smell good in Tauer Rose Delight topped off with a smidge of Providence Perfume Co Rose Boheme.
Hopefully your day turns around!
(I was trying so hard to ignore it, but jeez, Rose Delight seems to be getting a lot of positive attention…)
Thanks! I’m not taking it personally. This person is generally hostile and unhappy, just sucks when you’re their target du jour.
I really like RD, and haven’t heard any negatives except for varying longevity. I get many hours from it. Happy to send you some to try!
Sorry you had such a crumby day Elisa. Some people just like to spread misery. At least you smelled beautiful. I hope tomorrow is a better day!
I love Rose Boheme-will have to try Rose delight!
I love Rose Boheme and Rose Delight oil too. Both are lovely.
I’m sleep deprived, a bit overtaxed, and at least a little cranky, so today was a good day for something that couldn’t fail. A wonderful perfume fairy shared some vintage Shalimar EDC with me, so that’s what I’m wearing today. Despite freaking out a little bit about money with my wedding coming up, I might have to buy a bottle.
I am in sympathy with your money freaking out! Add the perfume to your wedding trousseau!
Weddings are so expensive, aren’t they?! We are not going for lots of froofahlah, and it’s still tough keeping to our (apparently modest) budget. And we haven’t even begun shopping for the honeymoon. Good luck with all the many decisions on your plate!
I have put myself on a perfume moritorium, for the most part, this year to assuage my budget anxieties a bit. I made an exception for a full vintage bottle of No. 5 edc that I found in an antique store, but I figure that doesn’t count! 🙂 You may decide that a bottle of Shalimar edc doesn’t count, either! (And can’t you get that one in 30 ml? That would make it practically free. . . )
Thanks, and good luck with your decisions, too!
Goodness, we tried so hard to keep the wedding costs manageable, but there are SO many unexpected, non-optional expenses that keep adding up (a dance floor, a microphone, transportation, parking, and so on). That doesn’t even count the items (picture frames, fonts for our reception signs, printing) that we probably could have lived without. Sigh, and we haven’t even started thinking about a honeymoon.
I hear you on the optional, not-as-optional, and unexpected expenses! So much of the stress of planning seems to be in trying to limit the surprises.
All that said, I’m finding myself tempted to surprise my fiance with customized, bobblehead cake toppers. Totally worth the $100+, right?!
HAHAHA, we got $60 ceramic cat cake toppers, so you won’t hear a peep of judgement out of me!
I’m calling ours “future home decor,” and I do believe that bobbleheads fall into the same category. 😀
I’m continuing my Chanel weak in No. 5 EDT.
You don’t smell weak at all! 😉
Nice! I used some No 5 bath gel to wake myself up today.
In honor of Chanel Weak, wearing the forgotten Chanel, Chanel Pour Monsieur. It is fair to middling in strength, so just apply copious amounts! A beautiful, textbook fougere.
Now that Limon Verde is basically undetectable I might participate in Chanel Weak with another fleeting favorite 1932
1932 will definitely be my groove on Friday.
Day off @ the laundromat (5 huge loads so that we won’t have to schlep crosstown again for a while!). Wearing vintage Lancome Fleches d’Or and scheming to layer something over it once I get into an air-conditioned environment. It is ninth-plane-of-hell vicious outside!
Later: topped off w/ Bijan Woman. It is now 1987.
Enjoy your time traveling!
????
Very late in rising (530 AM!) and so rushed today- forgetting my wallet! Fortunately I have the Android pay on my cell phone and emergency change at work, so lunch won’t be a problem, thank goodness.
SOTD: Allover spraying of Chanel Eau Premiere- perfect for a greyish to sunny day.
OOTD: Slim white pants, striped t shirt, black heeled sandals.
your outfit matches your perfume -perfect!
Oh thank you!
Ditto…in Premiere today too!
today is Un jardin sur le toit because I used a sample of the shower gel a SA gifted me, so then I grabbed my sample of the perfume as well. I have smelled this one before but not worn it. Quite delightful! the shower gel was so refreshing this morning.
It is lovely isn’t it?
So happy to see your post! Have missed your scent updates. 🙂
Thanks! I often don’t find it necessary to share what I’m wearing if I know it’s disliked/unpopular, I just figure what’s the point? I’ll save the time and keep it to myself. 🙂
I still like to hear what everybody is wearing. A few of my loves are unpopular so I try not to judge. Plus, sometimes something with bad reviews or mainstream and generic gets mentioned and I’m inspired to give it a try.
I was kind of indecisive about my fragrance today. I thought I’d commit to No 5 b/c I used the shower gel. But then I decided to give my decant of Misia another try. Never say never, right? And I like parts of it, but I don’t like the plastic parts of it. So then I needed to temper the sweetness in Misia so I added a big blast of the current No 19 edt to make it behave. The addition of a generous dose of vetiver to Misia really helps a lot. I am getting little puffs of powdery rose and nice waves of vetiver that are mixing in my nose. Phew. I should have just worn No 5! 😉
🙂 maybe Misia behaves better in winter?
For some reason I don’t like Misia unless it’s hot weather. I never touch my decant until mid summer and almost always as a sleep scent.
Aliage. Green and more green. I think it is the only thing I have that cuts through this “hot fog” humidity.
I am wearing l’Occitane hair and body oil layered with Chance Eau Tendre sheer moisture mist. I am smelling mostly the body oil and fits perfectly in this summery hot and humid day, I love the heat and enjoying the remaining days of this summer a lot, not looking forward for fall and winter.
That Asbury Park postcard is adorable, especially the swimsuits.
I’ll join Robin with some summer-y, fragranced body lotion. Mine is Terracotta. I bought it several summers ago and can’t believe the tube is still not empty!
I would like to have a Terracotta lotion too…
Opted for Chanel Sycomore today. I only have a splash bottle, so maybe it would last longer in spray, but it is just lovely!
Been craving a green scent lately, and looking at trying out Bel Respiro, anyone have any other recommendations?
I went through a bottle of Bel, I liked, but will not repurchase.
Recently I tried Chypre Mousse by Oriza L. Legrand. It was definitely unique, at least to me, and it gets good reviews.
SOTD: Taklamakan.
Testing: Baba Yaga by sixteen92. It is a very nice smoky oil with a little bit of sweetness. I was mainly attracted to the name – Baba Yaga is this witch in Russian folktales that lives in a hut in the middle of the forest and eats children by baking them into a hot oven. Generally she gets tricked my little kids and ends up in the oven herself. It was just unusual to find a fragrance of that name – but I really like it. Tested it last night and the staying power is great – can still smell it post-shower in the morning.
What are your thoughts on Taklamakan? I absolutely adore Soleil de Jeddah, and love the idea of a “desert” inspired scent.
Oh I love Taklamakan. It is very different from Soleil de Jeddah (which is on my FB list) – you really get a feeling of smelling hot sand when you just spray it on. Kafka did an amazing review and my experience with it has been pretty much the same. Staying power is 10+ hours (and that is on my perfume eating skin). I highly recommend it.
I love that postcard! And I had to comment that I went into surgery yesterday with a little BG Cream on my legs and torso (where it wouldn’t be a problem for the surgery but made me smell nice). As the nurse was placing compression on my legs, she commented on how nice and smooth my skin was. 🙂
No SOTD today, as I am wrapped tightly in bandages.
(And no worries re: surgery, it was nothing too major and my health is good. It’s going to be inconvenient for a while, but that is all. 😀 )
I hope you are up and about soon, Marjorie!
What a nice comment to get before your surgery. I hope your recovery is speedy!
Hope you heal quickly and sample as much as you can to keep yourself fragrant and distracted while you mend.
Wishing you a nice and prompt recovery!
Good health and recovery!
Hope everything heals beautifully!
I hope you have a speedy recovery!
Glad you’re ok and hope you’re on the mend soon!
Wishing you a speedy recovery and a relaxing convalescence!
Hope you’re back to feeling like yourself soon.
The guy across the street woke me at 4:30 as he was moving his boat around the street. I was sort of half-awake for a while and started thinking about what perfume to wear today when a craving for Desarmant hit me. So that’s what I’m wearing!
I would love a FB of Desarmant. The sample will have to do for now.
Sorry that you were woken up at 4:30am, but the image of the guy moving his boat around the street in the middle of the night is so funny–fitzcarraldo!
I’m just sick of summer, so I’ve put on a spritz of Dzing! – it does wear well in the heat, and heartfelt thanks to the people who recommended I try it during warm weather, but it’s not really a summer scent, you know?
Come on, fall.
Its so humid in NYC today you could just drink the air
We’ve got thunderstorms on the way this weekend, so the humidity is inching up here too. It’s awful.
Dzing! is my warm weather leather. Another good non-summery scent for warm weather is L’AP Vanille Absolument.
Thanks! Actually, the AC is so brutal in the summer that the non-summery scents seem appropriate once I get to the office. So, I’ll keep that one in mind.
Good choice, Robin. I might wear my body cream tomorrow.
My SOTD is Byredo Pulp.
Aqua Allegoria Mandarine Basilic for me today.
Most of the AA line are very fleeting on me, but this and Herba Fresca hang around forever.
Perfect summer day in Nova Scotia – 86 F and sunny.
Love the postcard! My SOTD is Tom Ford’s Soleil Blanc.
Love that one!
My perfume today is fabulous, fleeting, AND lazy: Caligna, chosen because it was the first thing I saw when I opened my perfume cabinet (formerly known as the linen closet, but the poor towels and such don’t have much real estate at this point).
Oh, is that what those handy closets are for? 😉
I can’t tell you the last time I had linens in my perfume closet. When we moved I made the switch to Turkish towels so I could store them in the tiny bathroom cupboard and keep my closet space free for essentials.
Yesterday I went shopping with a friend who was smelling fantastic. I complimented her until she revealed it was Lancome Magie Noire. Would never have guessed that in a million years, as it bore no relationship to the original.
The original Magie, or the earliest version of Magie Noire?
I have a mini of vintage early-80s MN which is just utterly witchy. It sort of scares me a little.
Mals, my friend was wearing current Magie Noire, which smelled basically like a lot of other modern perfumes but really great on her. At first, I thought it might be Bottega Venetta, which also smells really good on her.
I have the original parfum and agree with you that it is thoroughly witchy, and not one to be trifled with.
Possibly I’m being unfair in saying the current one in no way resembles the original. Perhaps that’s what you get if you keep the fruit and floral notes, substitute modern musk, and take out all the green notes, patchouli, castoreum, civet, vetiver, oakmoss, and benzoin.
I referred to The Scented Hound for the vintage notes; he indicates he got them from Yesterday’s Perfume:
https://thescentedhound.com/2014/05/29/vintage-magie-noire-by-lancome/
BTW, I can see why it would suggest coriander, as you noted in the comments.
Aha. I have only smelled the – well, I was going to say current, but at this point I mean the 2010 version! It smelled like a thin veil of MN, and the oakmoss was dialed way back, but it mostly smelled like itself.
I’m fairly certain there’s coriander in there somewhere, though, or something that mimics it. Hard to tell at this point (my edt mini is the original-original Magie Noire orange-red-gold-black packaging with the cabalistic symbols, and who knows what it’s been through in terms of storage conditions!), but it reaches up and whaps me hard.
What a happy postcard Robin. I love it!. Wearing the amazing but fleeting Chanel No. 18. I sprayed with abandon and finished my decant. I thought so many times if I should buy another full bottle before the upcoming reformulation. Besides my love for it, I decided it was better to invest that money or even less on another scent with better sillage and longevity. So sad to say good-bye to it.
I bought a sample of this a few weeks ago.
It is lovely but fleeting…kind of an apple’y rose to my nose.
I am very curious what changes, if any, there will be with the “new” EDP formulas…
I get tea and rose from No. 18. Hoping the reformulations on all Les Exclusifs bring the longevity and sillage that we have all been longing for.
Another fan of the postcard, Robin!
I’m wearing L’Aromatica’s Kulfi, which really does smell exactly like kulfi. I find cardamom really refreshing in the summer, and this has it in spades. Hopefully it will camouflage any residual garlic seeping out of my pores from the ton I consumed over the last few days to ward off the flu or whatever-that-was. Thank-you for all the well wishes from the NST family the other day, they were much appreciated!
Glad that you are feeling better 🙂 !!
Thanks!! 🙂
SOTD was Wood, Sage and Sea Salt, which lasts about 2hrs or at least after that I can’t smell it. SOTE will be Passage d’Enfer which thankfully lasts a bit longer if not as long as I would like.
Very nice — both of your choices !
I love the WS& SS. I have a sample of the matching body creme, and will have to try it this evening. Sorry it doesn’t last on you.
SOTD = Chanel 31 rue Cambon
Simply gorgeous, amazing and inspires confidence. It is hot as hades out there and I don’t like it one bit. Bring me Fall now!
i love 31 RC..makes me feel elegant and polished
You smell faaabulous!
My second trip on a 6 train with no AC today. I regret to say,I’m also ready for Fall.
And I just got on a thankfully well-air-conditioned NJ Transit train but had to endure walking west on 34th St. that wafted a sour garbagey dead fish odor that was just hanging unmoving in the steamy air. It was so bad that I would have welcomed Secretions Magnifique to cut through the air (OK, not really because the combo is guaranteed to make me hurl).
So. Tired. Of. Summer. Bleargh. I’m making all the kids go through their dressers and closets in a hunt for outgrown/worn-out clothes, and I’m attempting to do the same.
In Hanae Mori Haute Couture for cheerfulness. It’s like a homemade wine cooler – fruity, but with a nice acid zing.
National Lazy Day? Dude, that’s so awesome! And that postcard is fantastic. I’m taking it as a sign that I should go out in the pool today.
SOTD is AG Quel Amour!
Yes, like the postcard and the NLD!
Winter is dragging on here. And on. But (cheering up) it means I can wear perfumes that are variously rich, woody, sweet and creamy, and sometimes all those things together….yum! So. I wore Queen to bed last night, and it’s still performing well. Love it! But for the body of the day today, I think I’ll shift to something heavily sweet, like Loukhoum or Rahat Loukoum or even Kiss Me Tender. And here’s a thing I’m looking forward to: I’m going to Kanuka’s book launch this evening, and have a coffee date with her tomorrow. My first NST meet ups! Also, USA NS-Tites, I love the fact that you have a National Lazy Day! Participate and enjoy!
Have a great time with Kanuka!
I’m not familiar with RL but adore KMT.
Oh, that sounds super! Have a great time, both of you! And congratulations to Kanuka!
Oh do report back, waterdragon! If I bet around to doing it this weeken, in your honor, I will temporarily change my avatar to the dragon-themed cake my niece had at her wedding reception.
SOTD 28 La Pausa. 5 sprays today. I’ve been sneezing a lot and I’m wondering if I’m allergic to it? Either way, I would never stop wearing it.
I’m thinking of wearing 28 La Pausa on Friday. It was the first scent that came to mind when I heard about this week’s project.
I’m glad I don’t have to feel guilty about being lazy today. I’m wearing a layering trio today. Bath and Body Papaya lotion, VS Very Sexy Now, and Taylor Swift Taylor. I smell pretty and summery.
I’m smelling a little high school goth (in a good way) in a sample of Noir Patchouli from an awesome NST-er.
Today I’m wearing DSH Giverny In Bloom. Perfect for today’s heat!
I’ve been thinking and thinking about that one ever since I drained my sample. Might have to get the dram size… oh, that inky galbanum, I love it so.
Oh, and here I was thinking it was Go to Many Meetings Day. Wearing Encens Mythique, but it has been unable to prevent reality from breaking in and reminding me that I am a working stiff and not a Rich Lady.
That is pretty. I always feel a million dollars when wearing Gold. No matter my outfit.
Wearing Nomenclature Effloresce. I think this is my favorite from the line, and it is quite nice when one needs a burst of super flowers; but nothing close to my favorite hedione scent — CdG Odeur 53.
It’s the opposite of lazy day for me – I had to go back to work today (Ack! The students will be here Wednesday morning!) and I have completely lost my work groove. I spent 10 minutes this morning searching for my water bottle, for Pete’s sake. Where did my brain go?
However, I smell lovely. Hiris seemed appropriate for the beginning of a new year full of infinite possibilities.
Yes, you smell great, and getting back to school is not easy but, as you know, it will get better in a couple of weeks or so … Hope you get a nice group of students this year!
We just found out our kitty has diabetes. So I will be giving her an insulin shot twice a day in addition to a special diet. Poor little sweetie. The vet bills plus the cost of insulin, syringes and special food has really hit my wallet hard, but how can you put a price on a loving long-term companion?
SOTD: a few ankle spritzes of Elizabeth W Vetiver.
Sajini, sending you and your kitty good wishes; that you both be strong and happy!
I feel for you and your kitty. I’d do the same for mine. Wishing you many happy years together.
(We are looking to get pet insurance, however).
The vet insurance really covers bare minimum. We had to have a surgery for my dog to remove a tumor and it barely covered 50% of their “approved* rate (which was about 50% less than the vet’s rate). I got so disgusted with it, I cancelled it afterwards.
My vet told me that I may have the same problem if my cat gains one more pound. I’ve been trying to cut his food intake but he’s always hungry. Sorry about your kitty, I hope he’s adjusting well.
Poor kitty. I know that my cats have given me so much joy, I just can’t say no to whatever they need. Fur babies are so very wonderful. Hugs to you and your kitty.
I wore Eau Suave today which is a lovely but fleeting scent on me. Thanks everyone who read my late comment last night. I didn’t think that anyone would respond and I read your replys this evening. Sorry I missed everyone. It’s been a hectic week and I’ve been reading and posting much later than usual.
Ugh…replies…
I’ve been thinking of you, Petunia! My bee-attracting bush is called Abelia, apparently a shrubby hybrid in the honeysuckle family. But I did discover that someone a mile away or so has 10 or 12 beehives in their yard, so mine may be escapees. Or escape-bees…
Good luck distracting your cat from his/her hunger. Never worked for me.
I did finally see a honey bee just this past weekend. It was on a sunflower in my vegetable garden. Thanks for the info on your hybrid honeysuckle. It smells heavenly so I can see why that would attract bees. Lucky you to have a beekeeper for a neighbor. I’ve been thinking about getting a few hives but it’s more of a someday project. ????????
Wore BV today, and following Sajini’s lead spritzed on knees and ankles, never to be detected again. I suspect my OSD – Optimum Spritz Distance – is elbow to wrist. Well, tomorrow is another day. 🙂
I can’t smell scent from my knees and ankles either. Well maybe if it was a scent from the eighties. ???? I wish my nose was that sensitive.
