Teo Cabanel Kasar & Jaspe ~ new fragrances

Posted by Robin on 3 August 2016 12 Comments

Téo Cabanel Kasar and Jaspé

French niche line Téo Cabanel has launched Kasar and Jaspé, two new fragrances for men.

Kasar ~ "A BOLD, MANLY LEATHER FRAGRANCE. Enters KASAR, mysterious, strong and supple as a purebred, always a winner on the finishing line. A true oriental composition lightened by a citrus top note. It gradually displays spicy, yet discreet, middle notes of safran, cinnamon and nutmeg. The fragrance then grows into a very sensuous woody accord where Oud wood, patchouli, cedar and cyst, mellowed by warm musks, harmonize beautifully. A dark arousing scent sublimed by an elegant touch of leather."

Jaspé ~ "A WOODY FRAGRANCE FOR THE GENTLEMAN IN YOU. Both elegant and modern, Jaspé expresses the splendor and virility of purebreds through tints of wood and lavender. Opening on fresh top notes of bergamot and lavender, it progresses with fern and geranium scents uplifted by the subtle spiciness of cardamom and nutmeg. A cool, ocean-light, refreshing breeze underlines the fresh opening tints. The base notes reveal a real harmony of wood essences: vetiver, sandalwood and papyrus delicately rimmed with just a hint of sensuous leather."

Téo Cabanel Kasar and Jaspé are available now at Niche Essence in Canada, in 100 ml Eau de Parfum.

Copy containing lines like “the splendor and virility of purebreds” makes me feel like this entire house may not be for me.

That is certainly an awkward phrase.

Their other fragrances are very well done.

According to Extrait.it, the duo was inspired by Napoleon Bonaparte’s Arabian horses, or somesuch.

Despite that awful copy, their Alahine is definitely worth trying.

Oh, are they the ones with Alahiiiiiiiine?? I’ve been meaning to try that one forever! Someone mentioned they have reasonably priced sample sets, so I may get one once my no-buy is over.

    Cyst ? Really?
Employ some proper copywriters and translators, Teo.
Cistus labdanum sounds much better. 😀

Haha! I was thinking the same thing. Sounded ok until the dermatologic problem.

The shop that stocks them here only has Lace Garden and Barkhane in 100mls. Barkhane is really lovely, but they are selling for $250 (R3500) which is just a leeetle out of budget! 😀 Also, it’s pretty light…
