Juniper Ridge Winter Redwood 2016 ~ new fragrance

Posted by Robin on 29 March 2016 10 Comments

Juniper Ridge Winter Redwood 2016

California indie brand Juniper Ridge has launched Winter Redwood 2016, a new unisex limited edition fragrance. It's the brand's fifth annual edition of Winter Redwood.

In this year’s version, Juniper Ridge is proud to present the most sophisticated, subtle, complex and complete version of Winter Redwood yet. A true picture, a painting, an aromatic tapestry depicting Juniper Ridge’s beloved mountain, Mount Tamalpais in all its wild grandeur. A parade of wild harvested fragrance ingredients, revealed through heritage perfume-making techniques, arrange themselves in a unique pattern that is at once familiar, yet totally unlike anything else. After a long drought across California, the rains have returned to Mount Tam this winter, and the trees, fat with fragrance, seemed to be waiting for Hall and the Juniper Ridge Wilderness Perfume team to catch and deliver it.

With notes of redwood needle, composted leaf litter, wet dirt harvested in secret Redwood canyons, oak, sea mist, cold creek water, wood smoke in the cool evening air.

Juniper Ridge Winter Redwood 2016 is $70 for 30 ml.

I just bought a large “sample” because of the free artisanal chocolate offer. If I don’t get the chocolate. I will be really upset!

I would be too! And I’m upset I didn’t even notice the chocolate offer at all.

I blind purchased the Backpacker’s Cologne and I am still waiting for MDW at the beach to wear it. If I offend I rather be poolside with a mezacal margarita in my hand and Banana Boat suntan spray in the other armed and ready to camouflage the skank with synthetic coconut, haha.

LOL! Which one of the Backpacker’s did you get?

This sounds awesome! I just got my ridiculously cheap Olympic Orchids sampler in the mail ($28 for six huge 3 mL (really closer to 4) samples) and Olympic Rainforest was the one that really got me — notes in this seem close to what Juniper Ridge is trying to do. It’s sort of like a more intense SSS Forest Walk.

These are really “wildcrafted” in a way that other brands are not doing (that I know of) — they tramp through the wilderness and do extraction on site. Kevin has reviewed a few of their scents if you’re interested…

Thanks! They carry them at Merz Apothecary in Chicago (for my Chi-fumeys), so I need to check them out!

Wish I had thought to look for these last week when I was in northern CA. Drove right past Mt. Tamalpais.

Hmmm, Mt. Tam. Maybe they should do Mt Diablo, over in the East Bay, which is sooo beautiful.

I do have the Sierra Granite room spray, and I swear it IS Sierra granite. Also have some massage oil but haven’t used it yet.
