Tauer Perfumes Lonesome Rider ~ new fragrance

Posted by Robin on 2 February 2016 17 Comments

Tauer Perfumes Lonesome Rider

Tauer Perfumes has launched Lonesome Rider, a new fragrance thanking his clients for 10 years.

I am running my Tauer Perfumes venture for more than 10 years now. I figured it is time to look back. No 10 years Air du désert marocain celebration, though. Just an unsentimental look back and connecting with the roots again. 10 years ago, I was starting my venture, out of nothing, clueless, walking through perfume wonderland. Soon, I did not walk alone anymore. And the longer the more, I am wondering who is taking and who is giving. With Lonesome Rider, I want to reach out to many of you and say thank you.

[...] With Lonesome Rider, I am going back in time. Lonesome Rider builds on Orris, a limited edition fragrance, offered 10 years ago; orris followed my Lonestar Memories scent that captures elements of untrimmed leather, campfire and the scent of wild pastures. A smoky leather note is what I wanted to see in Lonesome Rider, too. To me, this feels like going back to the source. I want the Lonesome Rider to stand out of the crowd. Thus, there’s an element of rough texture that I love so much. The smoke note is civilized, the leather warm and feels like a worn leather jacket.

[...]  Pepper, black, present but not dominant, is there because it needs to balance the opulent citrus chord that welcomes you when you pull the Lonesome Rider trigger. Black pepper oil is not just liquefied pepper, it is an abstraction almost, metallic and woody, it blends into the chord of other spices, clove and coriander, and adds a masculine twist to a fresh cologne opening.

[...]  Vetiver oil, sandalwood, cedarwood, and the leathery cypriol build a calm and warm wood accord that builds up in the base of Lonesome Rider. To me it feels like sitting in late autumn in the sun, the back leaning on an old shed, somewhere in the mountains. The wooden shed, tanned by the sun and wind and weather, provides shelter from chilly winds. The wood is brown, rough and yet, it feels cozy and soft.

Tauer Perfumes Lonesome Rider is $135 for 50 ml, with a special pre-sale price of $75. It is being sold on a dedicated website, where you can also set your own price for samples ($4 US for shipping).

Liked Orris and am trying to figure out if this one also contains orris/iris. If it does, then I might want to try it

Loved Orris. I try not to regret things I didn’t do, waste of energy, but I do regret not buying a bottle when I had the chance. I love Lonestar Memories and can connect with the “alone” (but not lonely) vibe AT talks about – what a lovely man (he sounds). I’m hoping to get in on a split of this but if not it might be a blind buy….

Sounds like a good contender for the splitmeet!

I’d also be interested in a split, but someone else would have to take the lead, since I have no idea how to split a spray bottle!

I am a Tauer fan girl, so I went to the website and preordered a bottle of this at the really good preorder price! I will offer one or two splits of this. You can enable me at my user name at gmail if you are interested in a split. Sorry if I am jumping the gun Robin, this seems like a special case!

Email, not enable! Well, that, too, but sort of beside the point today. LOL!

Will let it go but in general would much rather people not arrange splits in new fragrance announcements — don’t mind so much on an open thread poll or something.

Yes as soon as I posted I realized it was too much. Sorry, won’t do that again!

No worries guys…I just think it would be a mess if we did it this way all the time :-)

My mother used to tell me that I was over confident about not making messes!
          LOL!

I promptly went to the site and pre-ordered this. Love these opportunities…I missed out on Orris though :-(

The notes sound great. And though I find it adolescently (?) embarassing, I’m drawn to that name.

My reaction is embarassing, not the perfume name itself. Ugh.
