Roja Parfums Profumi D’Amore ~ new fragrances

Posted by Robin on 18 January 2016 12 Comments

Roja Parfums Amore Mio

British niche line Roja Parfums has launched the Profumi D'Amore collection, a new trio of perfumes for women.

"Each perfume from the Profumi D’Amore collection evokes the different chapters of a love story - from the very first moment passion is ignited (My Love), to a declaration of love (I Love You), ending with a love affair that lasts forever (I Will Love You Forever). A passionate love letter in fragrant form.” - Roja Dove.

Amore Mio (shown) ~ "The freshness of Bergamot and Mandarin counterpoints a rich bouquet of Rose, Gardenia, Neroli, Orange Blossom, Jasmine, and Ylang Ylang in the heart of this creation, which is enlivened by Ginger, Pink Pepper, Cinnamon, Cumin, and Saffron, where a note of Rum is underscored by the earthiness of Gurjum and Patchouli, warmed by Cedar, Guaiac, and Sandal Woods, the whole nestling on a soft, powdery blend of Vanilla, Cocoa, Tonka Bean, Carrot Seed, Orris, Heliotrope, Violet, and Copaiba, made sensual by Cistus, Ambergris, and Musk."

Ti Amo ~ "A soft, sensual base of Vanilla, Cocoa, and Tonka Bean mingle with leather-like Labdanum and Cistus, Ambergris, and Musk, warmed by Patchouli, Vetiver, Guaiacwood and Sandalwood, enlivened by Ginger, Pink Pepper, Saffron, Cinnamon and Cumin, sublimated by a bouquet of Lily of the Valley, Rose, Neroli, Orange Blossom, Jasmine, Ylang Ylang and Heliotrope, further sweetened by fruity Pineapple, the whole freshened by citrus Bergamot, Mandarin, and leafy Galbanum, nestling on a powdery base of Carrot Seed and Orris."

Un Amore ~ "Lemon adds its brightness to a blend of Rose, Jasmine, Tuberose, Heliotrope, and Violet, enlivened by Ginger, Clove, and Saffron, warmed by Patchouli, Cedar and Casmir Woods, softened by Vanilla, Coffee, and Cocoa, the whole made powdery through the inclusion of precious Orris, with Ambergris and Musk adding their sensuality."

The Roja Parfums Profumi D'Amore fragrances are £375 each for 50 ml Parfum.

£375? Crikey, that’s quite a pile of pennies! It should come with a recipe for world peace at that price!

I think for Roja Dove, that is chicken feed.

Blimey, that’s a lot of notes , I can’t even begin to imagine what they actually smell like. I passed them in Harrods the other day and couldn’t even bring myself to have a squirt after the horror of his tutti frutti oud which I still haven’t recovered from.

You’re right that for Roja the price is almost budget, but dear me, the more haute he tries to be the tackier it all seems. He really needs to redesign his bottles – I can’t imagine ever wanting one of these monstrous bottles on my frag shelf – unless the tackiness and bling is what appeals to Roja’s customers regardless of what’s in the bottles. He used to be a smidgen classier than this when he first started his range (Diaghilev I loved) but seems to have thrown himself headlong into blingsville

The bling goes with his sartorial aesthetics – the gold lame jacket and choice of jewelry.

I am guessing that the bottles are perfect for the intended audience, which I suspect has changed over the past few years. He seems to have found his own niche, as it were.

Never mind these — I want a perfume that smell just like the Christmas Candle!

A RojanDobe business practice rant if I may. I have ordered from outside the U. S. and if there is no free shipping, the cost could be exhorbitant. I understand that shipping is a cost of doing business and yes, it is acceptable to pass the cost along to customers. It is my choice whether or not I am willing to pay for it as a condition of receiving the item. For example, the shipping cost for La Via del Profumo was a whopping $26 (I think) and the package arrived within two business days. Roja Dove’s regular, non-expedited shipping cost for a travel spray (I got the tiny ROJA Haute Luxe because plunking down $$$$ for a perfume requires a lot more thinking) was 15 GBP. I convinced myself that it was OK to pay that if I really wanted the perfume and I really did. So…the end of this story was that it was shipped to me via UPS from a warehouse in Parsippany, NJ. The worst part was, despite me having entered all my customer info online, someone managed to mislabel my package and I got it in a little over a week from when I placed the order. While I love the perfume, I felt that the company should have been more honest with the cost of shipping – if it was going to be shipped from the U.S. to a U.S. recipient, the cost should have been adjusted accordingly. Caveat emptor.

Ugh fat finger typo – Roja Dove and not RojanDobe although that could be a spoofy name to protect the innocent.

I think RojanDobe sounds more dignified than using “Roja” for plain old Roger… (the cold weather is making me vicious…)

I dunno….this brand does just not appeal to me…I’ll file it under “noticed but scrapped along with Frankie Grande’s big black pom-pom”….
