Demeter Frankincense ~ new fragrance

Posted by Robin on 14 November 2015 3 Comments

Demeter Frankincense

Demeter has launched Frankincense, the latest addition to their Fragrance Library. Frankincense joins existing Demeter scents Holy Smoke and Incense.

Demeter's Frankincense is a full, rich, woody, spicy expression of a classic fragrance note. So classic, that the Bible mentions it as one of the three types of gifts the wise men gave to the baby Jesus.

Frankincense is tapped from the scraggly but hardy Boswellia sacra trees by slashing the bark, which is called striping, and allowing the exuded resin to bleed out and harden. There are several species and varieties of frankincense trees, each producing a slightly different type of resin. Differences in soil and climate create even more diversity of the resin, even within the same species.

Demeter Frankincense is available in 15, 30 or 120 ml Cologne ($6 – $39.50) and in matching bath & body products.

I went on a bit of a Demeter bender a few weeks ago–ordered a bunch of samples. Already have given some away. To me, so far, they are more like scratch and sniff curiosities than perfumes I would wear to go out in… My best combo so far is Bonfire+Frangipani, and you got it, the combo comes close to Nag Champa.

I will, no doubt, try Frankincense sooner or later…

Sorry you don’t love them! I guess I only really like a percentage of what I sample too, but the ones I do love, I am amazed at how great they are for the price.
