Andy Tauer's Tauerville brand has launched Amber Flash, the fourth fragrance in the brand's Flash series (the last was Incense Flash).
Downy soft (like a note in a ‘make-up’ scent, the powdery ambers we remember from our grandmother’s vanities) yet refreshingly saline and crisp (like the salt-encrusted waves that characterize the freshest parts of our grandfathers Bay Rum aftershave). This Tauerville scent skewers any sense of amber’s traditionalism or predictability by combining two contradictory notions of the note. Deliciously bright, this amber’s dusted, spicy animalism contains any overwhelming rays of brilliancy it may project, like a self-reflecting gemstone. This scent playfully references the uninformed assumptions that ‘Amber’ has something to do with the fossilized, scentless resin; this AMBERGRIS casts the honeyed glow of its oft-confused namesake, but casts aside any treacly, caramel sweet synesthesic commutability. Sensual and refreshing, Amber Flash by Tauerville effectively communicates the odd beauty of a note that traverses aquatic and dry, land based power in its breadth.
Tauerville Amber Flash is available now at Twisted Lily, $63 for for 30 ml Eau de Parfum.

Andy will be at Twisted Lily this afternoon but boo hiss I couldn’t make it! I may stop in next week to give this a sniff (plus I have a $20 off coupon).
Thanks for the reminder! And don’t waste that coupon 😉
Geez it would be great to live on the city for opportunities like this!
Amber! Yeah!! Gonna try and get this
I’m hoping for a “Cuir Flash” next
That would be great.
I got to sample this this weekend. I liked this one even though I’m not drawn to very ambery fragrances. It’s simple but has some incense or something slightly aromatic in it that keeps it from going too sweet. I’d say it’s my favorite of the Flashes so far.
Great, thanks!
