If you have a spare moment, do tell us what fragrance you're wearing today.
I'm all powdered up in Balenciaga Paris.
Reminder: this Friday, 16 October, we'll do Powder Puff Friday: wear something powdery!
And for those of you who like to plan ahead, see Scent of the day ~ Friday community projects 2015, where I'll try to always have the next five or six weeks mapped out in advance.
Note: top image shows the Balenciaga Heritage Spray square scarf, $595.
Haven’t decided on what fragrance to wear today. Right now I smell like the body oil huile-prodigieuse from Nuxe.
I am thinking of Noir de Noir or Plum Japonaise..someone can decide for me. Happy Tuesday
To go with huile-prodiegiuese (I love the hay and flower scent on it’s own!) I would suggest Noir de Noir.
I vote Noir de Noir. Love its elegance. It’s on my short list for next bottle!
Noir de Noir is the one for the day. So nice not having to make a decision ????
I’m wearing Plum Japonais today – a good scent for cooler weather. Sounds like I should check out Noir de Noir…
Bit too warm down here for a week of powder, so today is Byredo Flowerhead.
Flowerhead is gorgeous.
It is isnt it?! And very long-lasting too. I can still smell it on my shirt at the end of my 9hr shift!
I’m wearing Shalimar, extrait. It’s gorgeous, and very comforting with the rather sudden drop in temperatures.
Extrait! Yum! It’s fun to smell our true loves when the temperature changes. Different facets can come to the forefront.
Cold here too!
SOTD is Musc Nomade (AG) + R’Oud Elements (Kerosene).
Musc Nomade is fabulous!
Bring de Reglisse. I can’t get enough of it and am quickly running out of my 100ml bottle.
OMG I almost wore that today! 🙂
Oops, I meant Eau de Reglisse (Caron). So sorry…
Don’t worry about it. I’ve been meaning to try that one, but there hasn’t been a Caron retailer here in God knows.
You have to visit the Caron Boutique in NY!
Love that one.
Me too. Like a friend with a lovely smile.
Brin de Reglisse is so gorgeous – I have a tiny decant of it, and I horde it.
I have about 15ml left in my 100ml bottle that I’ve been hoarding as well. Sadly it lends itself to Kevin’s famed 10-spritz application.
Encens Flamboyant.
You smell lovely!
The temperature has dropped over the last couple of days, i’m enjoying wearing Liberty scarfs, jumpers and knitted hat’s as well as my favourite Autumn scents. My SOTD is Silver Iris, Atelier Colognes, and yesterday my almost full bottle of L’Air de Rien arrived, a proper bargain at 20 quid, and one of my top 5 favourites.
Meant to say, LOVE LOVE LOVE the Autumn, i find summer becomes dull and linear in the UK, wheras autumn is so multi layered and interesting!
It’s my favorite season too.
I love the spicy smell of the leaves after they have fallen. Fall is definitely an olfactory adventure.
Fall = Love!
Séville à l’Aube. Not so powdery. Yesterday was Boucheron, nicely powdery in some of it’s phases. Tomorrow is my No5 day. 🙂
You smell great, powder or no!
Wonderful!
SOTD is Dzongkha, this one is always right for me.
I got a sample of Dzongkha recently and am now rationing it! My husband even noticed it and complimented me… another notch on my FB list… sigh!
It is such a gem, I have a BB but consider another one. I never want to be without it.
SOTD is Chanel No 5 extrait. Perfect for a fall day, and most any day 🙂
Love No 5 extrait!
I’ve never smelled Chanel No. 5 extrait. I’d love to one day 🙂
Sighing heavily since I used up the last of my Epic Woman decant today. It was one of the larger ones I got from Amouage and I know I will be without it now for quite some time. It’s such a beautiful fragrance.
I like that Balenciaga scarf, which surprises me because I’m not normally attracted to that sort of thing.
I dipped into my box of untested samples and picked Cuir Ottoman. It’s a nice break from the gourmands I’ve been dousing myself in recently.
I like that one – but oddly enough, I find it only leathery on the top half. As it dries down it gets very very sweet on me, all sticky amber.
Thanks for “sticky amber” – I’d had a hard time putting that into words. 🙂 (Not any particular scent)
That’s a nice one – my sample is long gone…
Cuir Ottoman is beautiful. Thanks for the reminder to bering it out for Fall!
Today I went with Lalique Encre Noire. I haven’t worn it in 2-3 months, but now that the cold season starts, it’s gonna get more attention. I love my vetivers!
Twins!
Vetivers are gorgeous in the fall.
Love that one and such a bargain – I wear it in the summer, too
I wear Encre Noire more in the colder months, because I like to wear other fresher vetivers in the summer. I do have a decant of Encre Noire Sport which I’ve worn a few times this summer, though.
SOTD is Tabac Blond. I just sprayed 20 minutes or so ago, and I’m noticing carnation in it more than I usually do … not that there’s anything wrong with that!
Randomly burning through a bowl of samples so I’m in Bond No. 9 Little Italy: mostly citrus and deeply uninteresting. I’d rather be wearing pure orange oil, which at least is honest about its cheapness.
Yeah, that one was a big disappointment…
After all our skank discussion yesterday, I pulled out my PdT mini of Bal a Versailles. Smells like flowers and candles had relations on a polished wood table – good stuff.
Hah!!
I almost wore Bal a Versailles today for the same reason! Kinda craving it now
LOL!
I was just reading through that thread. I missed it yesterday due to busy stuff at work. There are some serious laugh-out-loud comments on that! I’m not nearly brave enough to wear a lot of skanky scents. I find it funny that people think Jubilation is on the mid-range of skanks because it is one that I cannot go near at all. Absolute 10 on me!
You’re on fire today, mals.
🙂
You smell beautiful! BaV is one of my favs.
Such a funny image in my mind now!!!
Seriously, BaV is beautiful. My mom used to wear it. It was her going-out, evening scent.
It is with great sadness that I report that one of my perfume heavens is no longer going to be selling perfume. JR Cigar sales outlets for anything but tobacco are nearly done. The first time I walked into the store in Burlington, NC, I thought I had died and gone to heaven. Three counters of everything you could think of from the ridiculous to the sublime and the best thing about this place was you could try before you purchased! My first Caron masculines were tried here and purchased for a really good price. I got the big bottle of Dior Hypnotic Poison for $60.00! All the Estée Lauder’s, Guerlains, Rochas plus everything mainstream. I purchased Tabu Talc yesterday for $5.00 plus many of their used testers are on sale for less the $10.00. I bought a nearly full Davidoff Zino for $7.00 and paid $40.00 for a new Aramis Tuscany, hard to find and nearly irresistible to me with my utter inability to resist 1980’s Fougeres. Everything is condensed and looks sad and like they are near the end, which they are. I hope some of you had a chance to go there, it was fabulous!
I am sorry! One of my favorite places to go is a good old fashioned tobacconist, and the one here, Rich’s, used to sell imported European unisex colognes and bath waters. Not anymore!
This place sounds like the old Maison Edwards in Ann Arbor’s Nickels Arcade: Roger Gallet, tobacco, tortoise shell hairpins, Crepe de Chine, and Shocking.
Ohh, so sorry to hear that. I know just what you mean by that “near the end” look–I only got to Art & Flowers, a Virginia perfume haven, on one of its very last days, and it was really a heartbreaker!
Oh man. That’s sad to hear.
So sad – it is very rare indeed to find an old fashioned shop that would have good fragrances.
Oh my, this place sounds like heaven, what a shame!
I live in a tiny East sussex (uk) village, and we’ve just lost our postoffice, so sad when these places close down!
Finishing my packing for when I leave for Texas later today. I still have to figure out if my sole bottle of perfume will be Deneuve, Theorema or Chanel no 19. It’s going to be in the 90’s so the heaviest I can go right now is Theorema. I really hate this type of choice. So no SOTD right now.
My sister’s in TX, and she’s miserable right now, knowing that it’s Real Fall back home and she’s missing out on sweater weather.
I think I’d go with No. 19, given the heat.
Ditto on No 19 for dealing with heat.
At the airport now and have no 19 in EDT form. I don’t have any decant or back up bottles. I do hope that I do get some extra suffrage while on vacation. I am panicking because I only have one perfume on me.
Definitely 19 for Texas heat.
Si Lolita Lempicka for me today and completely loving the peppery opening.
Do you find it’s similar to Poivre Piquant? I’m wearing PP and contemplating a bottle but I wonder if I need to try Si Lolita first…
It’s been a while since I had a bottle of Si Lolita, but I don’t remembering it being particularly similar to Poivre Piquant. I remember the pepper being fizzier, and there being much more of a floral quality.
Oh, thanks… hm that does sound like something I might like though! But perhaps different enough to justify both? 😉 (Hahaha I swear I’m trying to trim my collection but…)
I haven’t tried Poivre Piquant so can’t answer your question. There are good reviews of Si Lolita on both NST and Perfume Posse. I bought a mini on Ebay for a steal – whenever I wear this I wish I had a spray bottle for better application. A mini can hardly count as a bottle – so no worries about building instead of trimming your collection, right?
Ooh–I see your enabling and will raise you one–if you’re in the U.S., I’ve seen bottles at TJMaxx lately. If you need a spray!
Hahaha – I fold! You must know I’m a compulsive TJ Maxx fragrance shopper!
Rose 31 for me today.
You smell like my ex–I can tell already that I like it better on you than on him 😉
Hahahaha! 🙂
Rosa Sur Reuse from Soivohle today. If she ever rereleases it, I will buy a vat of this for backup. I love this scent
That was good stuff. I wound up with three samples of it, which is probably going to do me because it’s so potent, but it really was delightful. (I’m glad I stocked up on Centennial, myself – that one didn’t survive the Soivohle reorganization either.)
I own 7 of her scents and I’m so looking forward to trying her new ones (not ordering until I can shake this cold– I am already frustrated by some samples lying around that I want to test…..)
I am in totally the wrong scent today. I put on Thierry Mugler Dis Moi, Miroir, which was a mistake – too sweet. I wanted to try something I hadn’t worn before. Last night I decided on Mitsouko EDT, but changed my mind because I had already tried it (and it was love). I totally forgot that I had received a mini of Theorema last week. Oh well, tomorrow. It’s so funny that I spend a lot of the time before I fall asleep deciding on what scent to wear. By the time morning rolls around, I usually change my mind.
I did that a lot this morning too. I changed my shirt a few times and then had to change my perfume choice as well. Sorry you’re in the “wrong” scent for the day. It’s always a disappointment. Maybe wear something soothing and what you want for the evening?
I do that too- I think what I’ll wear (clothes and scent), and then I usually change my mind in the shower, and even to the point I’m putting my hand in the drawer…. so fickle is the perfumista!
Last night, instead of counting sheep, I was mentally running through my perfume collection in preparation for Friday’s powder theme. I have so few powdery scents… The obvious one is my Burberry Brit Rhythm for Her… but I still have not made my peace with it… and it is soooooooooo hot here now, that to wear it would be torture!
Cool mornings and warm afternoons. Today, it’s Lust in the stick format, with a tiny drop of Mille on the wrists. I find the combo perfect for day (even in the office). The stick format of Lust stays very close and envelopes you like a hug.
Yes! Someone recently told me the Lust I was wearing (likewise from the push-up solid one) struck him as a “soft floral” which was bewildering, because, it’s Lust! But I was thinking “soft” in “quiet”, whereas now I wonder if he was getting at “soft” as in “not hard.” As Hajusuuri was saying of No. 19 yesterday, sometimes straight florals really have a spine-straightening quality–whereas I agree, the Lust solid is a more hugging floral 🙂
Crazy busy weekend and early week. Have not gotten to play along…
24 Faubourg today for it’s perfection–I have to wear it to a professional meeting at one museum, and an opening reception at another. This is a workhorse scent for such a day. And while I initially liked Caleche better, now I think 24 is my preference.
24 Faubourg sounds gorgeous for a very interesting day!!
Sounds suitably glamorous and reliable for both!
No SOTD yet, my cappuccino doesn’t like competition.
Just back from my Rochester trip. Drive was tedious and 100 miles longer than online mapping predictions. Time estimates were based on 70 mph (lots of 55 mph and even some backwoods 45 mph.) And despite AAA help, lots of road construction. Predicted 11 hour trip was 14 hrs, even with minimal stops.
Only consolation – besides having had a great time – was leaf peeping. Northern Pennsylvania was breathtaking, lots of bright color. Even further south, seeing the ground covered in dried leaves made me so happy. I’m really curious to see my first fall in North Carolina – tree heaven (at least this part).
We have had a remarkably vibrant fall this year in PA. Tons of scarlets. It’s been very inspiring. Usually by now the leaves have already dropped and they are all still going. Sorry your trip was so long….
Une fleur de Cassie today, it is pure bliss. Inspired by last weeks Ropion-theme, I ordered a sample – it arrived this morning and I’m in love. And it is powdery too, so I can wear it all week 🙂
I’m excited to get my sample of this, I have one on the way and I can’t wait to try.
Such a beautiful perfume, and yes it ticks to powdery requirements too.
I’m wearing Iris Cendre and am still having trouble describing it. I’d say it’s an elegant, damp-smoky-green iris that gets more floral as it progresses. I don’t think it’s powdery, but I’ve seen people online who disagree. In any case, it would be best if you could smell it yourself, as it’s a great scent.
This and Iris Nazarena are both on my list of sample to get the next time I get some samples, but I have about 2 dozen I want to plow through before I get more.
I am going to have some generous swap meet sample batches!
But thanks for reminding me of Iris Cendre – it sounds intriguing!
Thank you Anniky. It sounds lovely.
SOTD is Shiseido Zen (Classic). All these gorgeous fall leaves and smells made me hanker for some serious oakmossy goodness.
I am very excited though: I got my package of Diptyque Essences Incensees Jasmine solid compact today… Bad girl!! I had a $20 coupon at N so it seemed like a bargain, and it’s been so long since I got something new. I can’t wait to test it later!!! I can already smell it through the box.
Oh jealous!! Yes $40 seems like a great price for that solid–especially when the bottle’s $175 (ouch)! Can’t wait to hear how you like it!
I really don’t need 100 mls of $175 jasmine juice, no matter how good it may smell. It was a lucky bargain for the compact. I’m just wondering what they’ll release next year!?
…Ok so I dipped in early. It smells very rich, intense, lovely, super jasmine. A very much like TF Jasmine Rouge. Truly almost a dead ringer, but just a tad fresher. Must be the basil. Also reminds me very, very much of L’AP Haie Fleurie. If I was doing a blind test, I wouldn’t be able to tell any of them apart from each other. (IMHO Montale Jasmine Full is a brighter, “sunnier” jasmine, and I’ve always like that one too.) So I think the EI Jasmine is a good thing, very well done, although not revolutionary if compared to Jasmine Rouge, Haie Fleurie, etc. I’m not getting much jasmine indoles from this (I get more jasmine indoles from Songes.) I wonder if there may be any subtle differences between the solid and the juice? Anyway, I’m pretty happy about it – I only have very small decants of Haie Fleurie and Jasmine Rouge, so this works out. I was wanting a bottle of Jasmine Rouge, but didn’t b/c of the price tag. Cheers!
Ooh, well now I’d def have to keep my eyes pealed for a chance to try the solid, because the indoles in the spray were a drawback for me.
So glad you like it! And truly a win on the price–I’m pretty sure you don’t even get 100ml for $175, I think it’s only a 75ml bottle! (To say nothing of the price on Jasmine Rouge!)
I just thought “big bottle” = 100 mls. But you are right – I should have known better since I have the EI Mimosa bottle. I almost bought the perfumed lotion of Jasmine Rouge b/c it’s a better price, but I skipped that as well. Either way, the EI Jasmine is a better price than Jasmine Rouge if you want juice. I don’t think they make the second Haie Fleurie anymore? Update: it’s been a bit over an hour since I put on just a dab of the solid and it’s now just a skin scent. In that capacity it’s very wearable for day. I would hope the regular juice has more longevity. But I didn’t put that much on since I’m at work…..
Zen was my favorite for a long time, back in the day…
It’s a happy discovery for me. After this past year I realize how much I’ve come to love oakmoss, and Zen has it in spades. I like that the formula with all the white flowers wears rather light. I wish that I could smell an older bottle. It’s fun to discover old treasures.
If you can smell it through the box, aren’t you somewhat concerned that there could be leakage in transit? As optimistic as I am, I equate it to this — when I’m driving to a venue with limited parking, I think that every car in fromt of me or passing me is going to the same place and taking the last parking spot.
It’s just the solid compact – once I took the plastic off the packaging, you could smell the jasmine! I don’t imagine they can make the solid compact air-tight since it doesn’t have an air-tight lid. It makes a gorgeous paper-weight, lol!!
Bella Freud 1970.
How are you finding it? I tried a sample recently and really liked it …. And then went away to think about it …. And, several weeks on I’m still thinking about it.
I really enjoy it! I’ve only worn it a few times, as I just have a sample — as of now. It is on my “to buy” list. (as are too many…hahaha). But I will say my interest hasn’t waned. I might not think of it right off the bat as a choice, but every time I wear it I’m pleased.
It’s my second day of wearing Roberto Cavalli Oro. I was inspired to blind buy because of Gaia’s review: http://www.thenonblonde.com/2015/09/roberto-cavalli-oro.html#.Vh0q5yvXu8A and it’s every bit as great as she says.
Ooh thanks, just read her review, sounds right up my alley,
Always up for a bargain! I also looked up notes on fragrantica, sounds delicious, does it project/last long on you?
It lasted all day long on me yesterday. It’s fairly strong and I only gave it one spray.
Noir Epices again for me today – after so many interesting comments on it yesterday I have to chime in and agree it does feel intelligent – and really helps in the sort of intense meetings I have had all day!
I remember very well when I first tried Noir Epices. I had just visited Senteurs d’Ailleurs for the first time where I had bought Le Parfum de Thérèse. They very kindly sprayed Carnal Flower in my hair, and I had Noir Epices on one wrist and L’Eau d’Hiver on the other. I loved all of them, but Noir Epices was the most intriguing.
I’ve been trying this one too and so far the spices are dominating too much. It’s a unisex scent, but on me is far more masculine.
Sadley, the FM line has not been a line I’ve found winners in.
After all the skank talk (thank you Angela! So much fun!!) I’m in No. 5 Eau Premiere. Not very skanky really, but I am enjoying its indolic nod.
Twins!
I’m trying a sample of EL Private Collection Tuberose Gardenia since it’s still summer here in Texas. I quite like it, especially after the first hour or so. (The opening smells a little sour to me…)
SOTD = Chanel No. 19 EDP
I needed one more day of spine-strengthening and No.19 is getting the job done!
Nothing like 19 for spine strengthening, i alway’s wear it for my driving lessons, so thats SOTD sorted for tomorrow!
I’ll be your passenger 🙂
I’m wearing Van Cleef and Arpels Bois D’Iris which is the perfect 6am scent…pre-dawn but with a faint glow in the sky, tuis and bellbirds chiming in the Kowhai, damp earthy garden scent easing through my open window, and a chill in the air. Once I walk the dogs and get down to business I’ll switch to CB I hate perfume At the Beach as I love it’s oily furniture polish scent…great for a day writing at my old rimu desk.
Bois d’Iris is high on my list of really really good!
Great choice!
Kanuka, your post makes me homesick for the heartlands! Tui…bellbirds…kowhai…I want to go home so badly I can taste it! In two weeks, straight after Labour Weekend, I am having a double cataract thingy done. I know I can go back to work pretty much straight away, but now I think I might take some sick leave –last time I looked I had nearly 200 days accrued–and go up to Northland, subside in a soggy sad little heap, and let the land and sea cure me of this year. Quiet nights and clean air; old friends and new cafes; buttery toast and manuka honey instead of proper food… does it sound good?
That sounds like the perfect plan – but leave your marking at home. You academic types tend to take annual/sick leave and spend half the time answering emails, marking scripts, reading theses so I prescribe total work detox, lots of honey, beach walks. Your only ‘to do’ list is to rest up, relax and have sweet perfume dreams. Did you buy the pink jacket? I’m curious. I have a thing about pink – on me it’s either too girly or, interestingly, too frumpy. But I like the cut of your jib…and the reference to the cuffs so I bet it looks great.
Good luck with your operation – take something lavender in with you.
I did so buy, and also (mea maxima culpa!) a really interesting silk shirt to go with it. The shirt is a mad print with all sorts of things happening: I adore it, and it toughens up the pinkness a bit. The dear one was eith me, and he eyed me askance at first, but then he suddenly got the whole idea of the jacket and enthusiastically bought me a scarf as well.
I’ve talked to my HoS and told him I’m taking sick leave: that’s all fine. Oddly, I got the impression he’s relieved. Maybe I’m spreading gloom at work, though I’m trying not to. So, home I go, for a little bit, and no reading of anything. Promise. Oh, and no beastly fish. Nothing to eat that started out with fins and gills. Lots and lots of laughing though.
I just made myself toast and honey (from the hives up on the hill) in your honour. Now I’m wishing I had a honey perfume. I’m procrastinating, really. I have to get a book finished and I’m 75000 words down and I’ve lost interest so I’ve spent an hour reading about perfume – mostly YSL as I’ve been wondering if I should give Champagne or Paris another go…why not both! I’m still in jeans and merino underwear – so you can be the style queen for both of us!
You should certainly have both! Go for broke.
Hey, chez Kanuka sounds like heaven! Hives on the hill; honey at hand. What could be better?
Hope the words flow soon. Best to you.
Waterdragon! I must have missed a previous comment that you are having cataract surgery. Best of luck to you and wishing you speedy healing!
Thank you.! It’s not quite just yet –two weeks to go, but I am a bit nervous. Pointlessly, but still…eyes, you know?
After Angela’s review of skanky perfumes, I was inspired to wear MFK Cologne pour le Soir, since I only tried it once before being captivated by the Absolue. The Cologne doesn’t smell skanky on me at all–it’s balsam and rose with some sweet smoke. Very pretty and very, very soft.
On an extremely rare occasion, I was with hubby at NM this weekend trying new things for him. When I smelled this cologne, I couldn’t help but share that the opening smelled like cat pee to me. Hubby was mortified (I said it in front of the two MFK associates) and told me to shush. Hahaha, I said “why? That’s what I smell”. Needless to say, he wasn’t happy with me 😉 I didn’t get the cat pee in the opening of the Absolue though. It’s lovely.
As each week passes, it seems that it gets harder and harder for me to get a chance to tell what my SOTD is. This school year has been a crazy one so far, and we aren’t even at the half-way point. Any other educators feeling the same way?
My SOTD is Wild Fig & Cassis by Jo Malone mixed with Estee Lauder Bronze Goddess’ body cream. Yummy!
That sounds great!
Maybe there should be a weekend poll of the up oming week’s daily SOTD followed by a did you stick to your plan Friday. Anyway, if you end up not posting or posting late, it’s probably safe to assume you’re in one of the Jo Malone’s for 4 out of 5 days 🙂
Lol! You guys know me so well.
Today I felt like some AG Petite Cherie, so that is what I spritzed on.
Jo Malone White Jasmine & Mint is my SOTD.
Robin, I love Bal Paris, especial in the spring. Please, please consider creating the laughing til crying emoji for comments. I find myself dying to use it while reading comments on NSF! Especially the skank discussion yesterday, hahaha. Pretty please!!
We had the new emoji set for a bit but I just hated them, so “puffy” and ugly. A few other people complained, so I got rid of them. But maybe the people who loved them just didn’t pipe up! I will do a poll one of these days and ask.
I am wearing Creed Angeliques Encens. My all time favorite scent.
Wearing Arquiste for J. Crew No. 31 today. Like it, don’t love it. Need to top it off with something else now that it’s afternoon and faded mostly away. Limited selection in my work bag – I’m thinking JM Mimosa and Cardamom. Other choices: Nuit de Tuberose, JM Earl Grey & Cucumber, JM Wood Sage & Sea Salt. Suggestions?
Hi, all. I’m a fearful muddle today and have only just showered and dressed. I need resolve and energy — marking again!– and I am finding some in my bottle of Narcisse Bleu. I find it beautifully fresh and crisp in the top, very green and even a little bitter, but it has a more interesting base than many cologne-style perfumes, which often, all of a sudden, disappear without trace.
Hey, I’m later today than usual, and I know that many of you are already in late afternoon and early evening, but do enjoy what you do for the rest of your day. I’m going to try, but the first assignment I marked was such a clear fail, I would have given it a Z- if I could! Grump!
Sending you good vibes for the rest of the papers–hoping you get some good ones, it’s really surprisingly emotionally draining when you get a bad batch, isn’t it?? Always felt very personal to me, which I think students don’t understand. I want you to succeed!! (But to me that means, acquiring the knowledge/skills, whereas so many students seem to want to skip that part and go straight to being awarded the grade they want. Hahaha I haven’t done this in some years now, but the grump comes right back!!)
Thank you. The next two were in the B range, so whew! Until I get my eye in with this assignment and hit my stride, it’s a slow old haul, like going up a steep hill in a very old, clapped out car.
In my current signature scent, Bois des Isles extrait. Signature because I wear it more than any other scent.
Planning on doing some sniffing later as I’m in Chicago for work with a little extra time to spare.
it was warm yesterday, sorry! Have fun sniffing–it’ll be hard to divert yourself from your current signature.
I know! Wow, chilly here!
Lucky you! It is warmish in NYC 🙁
That’s a great choice for a SS! You smell wonderful.
I hope you had a good time sniffing! Where did you go?
SOTD is Jo Malone Blackberry and Bay.
To go with my old denim shirt I’m wearing Wrappings. Chilly day!
I love Wrappings, applied judiciously. There’s nothing else that I know that’s even remotely like it. In fact, I wore it to bed the other night, but I was too heavy-handed and when Dakkie and Izzy presented themselves for their last cuddle-and-purr session, they started sneezing, both singly and in unison. They looked quite reproachful. I might save it for outdoors from now on.
Cool enough today, that I am finally trying Armani Prive Cuir Amethyste. I was gifted this bottle from my dear friend who had it gifted to her. I originally tried it in july, and foolishly sprayed my usual ” way to much ” today, just one tiny spray. I do believe I am liking it.
This is beautiful, but very similar to Bottega Veneta which I already own.
Thats good to know. I have not smelled Bottega Veneta, but have been curious about it.
Kind of late and zipping over to the tube in a second to watch the Democratic debate.
Just got my samples of Diptyque Oud Palau and JM Mimosa Cardamom. I have to say that I love the dry down of OP. And the Mimosa Cardamom kind of reminds me of TDC Poivre Rose? I think my smeller might off today… Anyway it’s very pretty but I am having trouble with what it actually smells like.
In any case I did a perfume smelling sweep of downtown Boston yesterday. Barneys doesn’t have Nan Ban yet, but I did smell some very lovely Byredo perfumes. I fell in love with Black Saffron and it is going on my buy or trade for list for sure. Also, and this is kind of embarrassing, I had never smelled Hiris. Well it’s just the most beautiful perfume and goes on the list as well.
How much oud is in the OP? I am very curious about this b/c of all the other notes *besides* the oud. I can handle minute amounts of oud, but only if they kind of go away after a bit. I appreciate your thoughts!
Hi Ann, I will try it again tomorrow and let you know on tomorrow’s thread.
First time commenter, long time lurker!
Today I’m wearing Taylor of London Panache. Which, now that I think of it, I should have reserved for Friday since it’s probably the most powdery fragance I own.
