Clinique Aromatics in Black ~ new fragrance

Posted by Robin on 4 August 2015 23 Comments

Clinique Aromatics in Black

Clinique will launch Aromatics in Black, a flanker to to 1971's Aromatics Elixir. Aromatics in Black follows 2014's Aromatics in White.

The notes for the "mysterious and exotic" fragrance include fruits, jasmine, osmanthus, myrrh and vetiver.

Clinique Aromatics in Black will be available in 100 ml Eau de Parfum.

I wonder if this will be another NOT noir perfume. The notes sound interesting, I will try it for sure.

The “In White” was, in fact, pretty white. But I am likewise dubious.

Corious..esp. since I like In White 🙂 (as well as the classic) but I doubt it will be Noir 😛

Real Noirs are few and far between!

*Looking at Coco Noir* That one is so misleading…

Yes. They usually stick ‘noir’ on something to make it sound more mysterious when the fragrance is about linear and far from it.
I’m kinda skeptical about this. Didn’t try Elixir White and this flanker sounds like another fruity floral.
Certainly won’t live up to the iconic status of Elixir. It was the right time back then.

While I also doubt the level of “black”, I would still love to try this since I adore the original AE.

I hope this one will be good. Aromatics in White was such a disaster for me. And never seemed to calm down, after I had accidentally sprayed some on my coat. The bottle is gorgeous, as was the white one. They could actually use the anniversary version and call that Aromatics in Purple.

Clinique REALLY Needs to Re-release Wrappings Permanently! That is one of the most EXQUISITE Fragrances I have ever smelled! Shame it seems to only come around during the Holiday and even then not for all that long! 🙁

Does it come around every Christmas?
After reading the notes on Wrappings, I need to smell this one if they re-release it as a limited holiday edition.

I rather liked one called Clinique Simply. It was unusual.

The fruits worry me. Good thing there’s no truth in perfume names regulation, or they might have to call it Fake Fruit in Black Bottle.

I believe the original aromatics elixir was already noir, but this one pairs very well with the white one.

The white was a surprise, an amazing fragrance with a pearly aroma and a nod to one of my favorite discontinued creations, Cartier Le Baiser du Dragon. I’ll definitely test this one.

I don’t know if I should get my hopes up.

I wasn’t able to locate Perfumer’s Reserve and Aromatics in White, got no info from Clinique Customer Service and ignored by SF Sales Associates at Clinique counters who think PR and AW are not new scents, just AA in a different bottle. (not kidding)

Why bother releasing a flanker if it’s not accessible?
    Signed,

Not sure if you wanted to Test “Aromatics In White” Dahling, But Saks has it available on their Website. If you’re looking for a Test of it and they have it at my Local Saks next time i am there I’ll snatch you up a vial or two! 🙂

    Morning NoseKnows…
I always like to test before I purchase, thanks for the heads up!
I need to head to the SF Saks this weekend and try it out. When AW was first released I could not find it anywhere! Very frustrating experience…..

Adding fruit has made this hellish disappointing. At least “…White”, whilst being thin and wispy, managed to retain at least some of the characteristics of the original. “… Black” just smells like a generic “fruitchouli” now.

I hope this doesn’t mean they’ll discontinue the whole Aromatics line, the flankers just seem so … ordinary in comparison.
