The notes doesn’t sound very Lady Marmalade or Patti LaBelle to me.

Yeah…..you’d think at least they would have a reference to Magnolia Wine.

I know, right? I was expecting more sensual notes with a TON of sillage, something that could last through a night of dancing and sexy times.

Maybe it smells skankier than it sounds? It sounds a bit demure.

A bit too staid, perhaps? I was expecting something wilder and sexier in terms of notes.

Yeah, but who knows. Lists of notes are never complete. That said, nearly everything from BK has been tamer than I expected.

Really? Such a tacky/silly name..sometimes names can instantly make me not ever want to try the juice.

Am I Wrong in thinking that the “In The Garden Of Good And Evil” By Kilian Bottles are WHITE and Gold? Not like the Black “Ouevre Noir” Bottles???

I’ll wear this anyday, Love Tuberose and it Smells AMAZING On me… Generally LOVE LOVE LOVE anything Kilian Does!

    Isn’t Killian a French brand?
As I recall from sixth grade French class, that “coucher”is a reflexive verb, and that a properly educated Mme. Marmalade would inquire: “Voulez-vous couchez vous avec moi, ce soir.”

And where the heck is the marmalade? Surely a little bitter Seville orange peel note would make this scent sparkle.
(Although, if Mme. was truly proper she would invite someone who was sufficiently unknown to her to address as “vous”,* to sleep with her that very evening.”
A French brand, should know this grammer, (even if American Disco singers and composers do not)

In French, there are two words for “you”, one uses the word “tu” for a single social equal. The word “vous” is used when addressing more than one person, or one’s elder, a social superior, or to whom one would not use a first name. So Lady Marmelade is either issuing an invite to a stranger, an older person, or a couple of people.

I believe the encounter referred to in Lady Marmalade was with a stranger, because after the encounter the songs continues:

Now he’s at home doing 9 to 5
Living his brave life of lies
But when he turns off to sleep
All memories keep More, More, More

So maybe “vous” was appropriate? Although, as I said before, the notes of this By Killian is not saying “More, More, More” to me.

Hahaha…love that song! So Disco 1970s!!!

I have a nice sample of it and I really like it. It is two things NOT: Sexy (rather comfy), and no marmelade.
Very well done, it stays linear unfortunately so I would not buy it – but I really liked it that much to even think about it.

The name does not fit to the scent, not a single second!

It is elegant and polished and more cashmere and silk. But hey, By Kilian is all (at least 80%) about marketing…
