Cartier Must de Cartier Gold ~ new fragrance

Posted by Robin on 10 July 2015 18 Comments

Cartier Must de Cartier Gold

Cartier will launch Must de Cartier Gold, a new fragrance for women. Must de Cartier Gold is a flanker to 1981's Must de Cartier.

An elegant blend of the finest materials and a sober design with a touch of originality, the Must de Cartier Gold bottle adopts many of the Cartier codes of style: The oval shape echoes the line of the iconic Must de Cartier lighters. The gold color, the jeweler's precious metal. The decorative ridges, known as gadroons, symbolize the iconic jewelry expertise of the Must de Cartier collection. The red case, the color of Cartier, legendary and powerful.

Must de Cartier Gold was developed by perfumer Mathilde Laurent, and features notes of jasmine and osmanthus.

Cartier Must de Cartier Gold is available now for pre-order at Neiman Marcus, in 50 and 100 ml Eau de Parfum.

I’m glad to know so much about the bottle. 😉

It is a great bottle, though.

But…”jasmine and osmanthus” could go any which way…

Yes, it seems to be test worthy. I am hit or miss on osmanthus. And the bottle is very attractive – looks like Cartier and Tom Ford kind of have the same designer.

Yah!! As of this writing, there is not one single word on the NM site about notes or what it might smell like.

More commentary about the bottle than what’s inside, unless it’s a ‘duo-flore’: Just jasmine and osmanthus.
Must de Cartier was my first extravagant fragrance back in 1981.

THAT…. BOTTLE!!!!! Instant Lust! 🙂 Jasmine is always a nice note and Live for Loving Osmanthus, so it’s got good things to start… But That Bottle… Hope they do a Men’s Version with a Similar Bottle! <3

Must smells amazing on paper, but not nearly as nice on my skin… So, when I first saw this I had high hopes; but jasmine and osmanthus? Sounds like a very distant relative?

The mention of the lighter was a jolt reminder of the fact that Cartier is such a major player in the tobacco industry – which stinks!

I have a sample here that a friend send me and i can say that it smells good. Chic and slightly powdery were my first impression. I thought that it was going to replace Must de Cartier not a flanker.

Robin, now i understood what is this. It’s not exactly a flanker, neither a replacement, it’s the edp concentration of Must de Cartier EDT. They are not mentioned much the notes because of this i guess. I’m trying it today and it’s a reshaped Must to fit the osmanthus inspiration. Quite beautiful and well done.

Thanks! By our definition, it’s still a flanker, but good to know — and I love osmanthus so should give it a try.

Also, if you like how Dune and Allure develop on skin, you’ll enjoy this one. Do give it a try 🙂 I don’t understand why they have put the gold name on it to make it a flanker….
