L’Occitane Figuier & Osmanthus ~ new fragrance

Posted by Robin on 12 May 2015 12 Comments

L'Occitane Figuier & Osmanthus

L'Occitane has launched Figuier & Osmanthus, a new limited edition fragrance in the brand's La Collection de Grasse.

Figuier & Osmanthus is an exceptional fragrance capturing the essence of Provençal summertime by uniting the scent of the sun-warmed fig tree from Provence and the sparkling osmanthus from the Far East.

The fragrance opens with soaring notes of bergamot and blackcurrant, paired with a ripe, fruity fig. The heart reveals another facet of the fig through its green leaves, heightened by apricot tinted notes of the Osmanthus flower. A warm base rounds off this delicious scent and leaves behind a woody trail of cedar and musk.

L'Occitane Figuier & Osmanthus is available in 30 ml ($48 / £28) Eau de Toilette.

I like those notes, but have yet to find a perfume for either of them. Alas, I have doubts this one will do it for me, as I have yet to get beyond a mild liking for any perfume in the line.

I like both notes too. Wish their Rose & Osmanthus had come here — or if it did, I missed it.

I think that one was for the Asian market only. L’Occitane is very popular over there. In fact, at my local store I very rarely see non-Asian shoppers or staff.

Nearly positive it was in at least parts of Europe as well, in fact, I reported it from loccitane.me, which I think is Montenegro.

Never mind then. I just checked and it’s on the French site as an “exclu web” (I love that word).

I think me is middle East though. I could be wrong yet again though, lol.

And you made me check, LOL — .me is Montenegro, although I remember that when they introduced it, many people got domains just to have a domain that said “me” — couldn’t swear that L’Occitane has it for their own sales use in Montenegro.

Oops, I got me.loccitane.com (middle east) mixed up with loccitane.me (Montenegro).

ACK — NO, total brain failure on my part, because I totally forgot that’s how L’Occitane formats their URLs for foreign stores. It is me.loccitane.com and not loccitane.me, and so I have NO idea what that means. VERY SORRY!

A bit more info about this release. It looks like it’s being released in conjunction with the opening of L’Occitane’s show garden at the upcoming Chelsea Flower Show. There’s a really nice video detailing the garden’s creation at the following link.

I want that garden to be mine but I’d have to move to warmer climes first.

Also, it’s now available on the USA website. Hopefully it’s better than the iris one which I just smelled today.
