Happy International Jazz Day! What fragrance are you wearing to celebrate?
I'm wearing Clinique Aromatics in White. In jazz terms, I guess it's "smooth jazz", of the late 80s / early 90s California school.
Reminder: on 1 May, we're doing Tea Time Friday โ wear a fragrance with a tea note.
And for those of you who like to plan ahead, see Scent of the day ~ Friday community projects 2015, where I'll try to always have the next five or six weeks mapped out in advance.

SOTD: Magnetism (Escada). Haven’t worn this in several years. ๐
Clarification: Magnetism for Men. ๐
Nice to find an old friend!
Magnetism for men is the scent that has got me the most compliments. It’s such a shame they discontinued it.
I wore it a lot several years ago, not sure why I stopped, it is lovely.
I love this stuff on my husband! He is on his last bottle, sniff, will be so sad when it is gone.
I still have about 2/3 of a 1.7oz bottle left, it will likely last me forever as long as it doesn’t turn.
Smooth, composed, and sophisticated in Cuir de Lancome. And boy, did I need that this morning ๐
Excited for tea time fragrance tomorrow!
Ahh, love Cuir de Lancome – you smell great!
CdL is definitely a composed, sophisticated scent.
Love CdL. Pretty, but with backbone.
You smell better than I do.
I guess today most people smell better than you ๐
Wow! White gets NO love!
Sorry!!
CdR is gorgeous!
Thats what I should have worn today! Smooth and composed, indeed.
I have heard of this perfume so many times on here. What is it like? Just wondering if I would dare blind buy it as I have not heard one person who does not like it.
You know it’s interesting how our nose changes. I was madly in love with this scent but lately I’ve had a hard time wearing it..
I plan to pick it up again down the road, but currently have no desire to wear it all day. Another reason why I shy away from purchasing full bottles.
Well, someone doesn’t like it b/c the used bottle I have was from the swapmeet! It is not at all what I expected b/c normally I do not like strong leathers. I was taking a chance on liking it b/c I figured if I didn’t like it, I’d also swap it along. But surprise! It’s really interesting. I recommend testing first. It is really unusual.
I also recommend testing first. I wasn’t crazy about CdL – probably because I have a hard time with leather notes. I do like a few fragrances with leather (Amouage Beloved, SL Traversee du Bosphore) so I thought CdL might be soft enough for me, but the leather note was too strong.
Sampling Onice Omnia Profumo. I guess it can relate to jazz because there is a lot going on and I have no idea why any of it is happening ๐ Licorice and celery and mint and pineapple and nutmeg? I am on quite the trip, this morning!
All I can think of is this exchange from The Simpsons when Lisa visits a jazz club:
Lisa: You have to listen to the notes she’s NOT playing.
Random guy: I can do that at home!
There aren’t a lot of notes this perfume isn’t playing, but I will keep sniffing and see how it progresses – still early ๐
LOL! This made my day! Thanks. ๐
haha I’m glad!
This perfume might be a scrubber for me – there is so much going on that I feel a little queasy :O
Excellent!!
Errrr… maybe keep sniffing for the notes you aren’t smelling? What about coffee or wet cement? ๐
Ha! The scary thing is I’m not even picking up on the floral notes that are listed. Or the musk or the amber or the…. ๐
I love jazz. My fav jazz album of all time is Charles Mingus Ah-Um.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JY3hJc4sKqs
I don’t have many tea scents. I definitely need to try more. I remembered Ineke had one and I found it, so I’m wearing Chemical Bonding.
Jenkr,
How is it? I have the Ineke sampler hiding somewhere and I really need to test them out.
CB is probably one of my favorites from the sampler although that’s not saying too much. It’s very light though so it doesn’t last too long on me. I definitely get a light tea note and the citrus. I wouldn’t say it’s a great scent, but more in line with the general non-descript, “fresh” style that’s so prevalent these days.
SOTD is Jour d’Hermes (again). It’s waking me up in short order! Looking forward to Tea Time Friday, and I have quite a number of samples to select from. Guess I’ll wait until tomorrow morning and see what I’m in the mood for, but I think Osmanthe Yunnan will be whispering my name. ๐
Love Jour d’Hermes!
I had an extremely busy morning and forgot to put on any perfume. Fortunately, I have a bottle of Cristalle at work, so I doused myself in that. I love this scent, but I’m still somewhat surprised every time I spray it and realize how good it is.
It’s been one of those days when a little help from my perfume is much appreciated (it’s late afternoon here already).
Keeping that Cristalle at work seems like a great idea, especially if it gives you such pleasant surprises!
I think Cristalle is the perfect fragrance to keep on stand-by for emergencies, because it always works. Whatever the season, whatever the occasion, whatever the mood – it’ll suit.
I love Cristalle, you smell lovely. It is such a great pick me up. I just received a small bottle of Eau du Sud, pre reformulation. It is really good too, and very close to Cristalle.
I agree, it is one of the best there is and very uplifting. I have never tried the pre-reformulation Eau du Sud: is it very different from the current version?
I am not sure Anniky, because I did not smell the current one. I only remembered that Ann went at great lengths to find the pre-formulation one, so that is what I did as well. I found it quite easily though, on Ebay, from a reputable German seller (duft impulse). It is really very nice, a bit more citrusy than Cristalle, but I like that very much.
Cristalle is a breath of fresh air! I keep a few bottles of frags in my desk too – along with some seasonal selections in my purse – so I can apply or refresh if I have to.
I love Cristalle and recently I found a vintage big bottle of edt at an estate sale , it is perfect at this time of the year, fresh and uplifting .
Wearing my decant of Pichola today. Very beautiful stuff. Reminds me to some degree of SSS Jour Ensoleille, perhaps less mossy and honeyed, but that same sort of golden rounded floral. Unfortunately, its strong early presence is shrinking down close to skin, two hours in, and I’m a little disappointed in that.
maybe a Duchafour I’ll enjoy. Has Vacances shown up yet?
No, Vacances hasn’t gotten here yet!
And unfortunately, right after I wrote this, the Duchaufour-ness of it (which I tend to associate with old vasewater, or limp celery) showed up. Was loving it until then, now just tolerating. It’s now reminding me a bit of Nuit de Tubereuse, which I also don’t love.
I wonder if it’s the vetiver, or a particular quality of vetiver that BD likes to use, or something. Very earthy, almost sour as well. I don’t remember this happening in the three original Neelas, or in Amaranthine, or in Seville a l’Aube, but I really dislike this earthy thing and it’s common to at least a number of Duchaufours.
yep, Duchaufour doesn’t typically work on me either, def not Nuit de Tubereuse, and I’ve not been tempted to try any of the Neelas, just based on the notes. Seville a l’Aube is one I’ll try, but not going out of my way to do so.
Hmm i wonder if thats whats bugging me in the Eau d’Italie ones I’ve tried so far? Bois d’Ombre had me running for the hills, Magnolia and Paestum Rose were not much better. But I do love Seville, totally different! And Copal Azur or Avignon are nice too.
Hmm. Dunno, except that I haven’t liked any of the Eau d’Italies.
That SSS Jour Ensoleille smells like a dream. It’s the only orange blossom scent I can actually wear. Gorgeous.
Oh, it is lovely. It can sometimes get a little animalic on me – sort of cat-butt. But the florals are gorgeous.
I have a travel spray of Ensoleille, it’s my Queen of the Fairies scent.
A little cat butt never hurt anyone. ๐
….aaaaaand four hours after application, it is GONE. I can smell it if I hoover my wrist. Don’t think I’ll bother, though; I think I’ll move on to the two Penhaligon’s samples I got in the mail yesterday: Ostara and Peoneve.
I’m in Annick Goutal Le Chevrefeuille. Not sure that it relates to jazz in any way, but it sure does smell good!
It’s jazz for your nose!
Kevin’s review of Aromatics in White gave me a laugh. Today is Ungaro Diva, a successful blind buy. Usually careful about sampling first, but wanted to try the vintage version of this, and it was extremely reasonable on ebay. Gives a whole new meaning to cheap & cheerful, as the components smell like a million bucks–yay!
Yeah, that’s good stuff. Everything-but-the-kitchen-sink in composition, but it all works together and smells great.
I wholeheartedly second his review, except he left out the dull headache part. This will be the last time I try Aromatics in White.
Is that a note or an accord?
It’s my second day in a row wearing House of Cherry Bomb Tobacco Cognac and while I can’t smell it after a short while, apparently other people can. I’m still hoping it’s allergies, so I’m going to keep trying (and I’m doing a little better today than I did yesterday!), but if I can’t smell it, I guess it’s silly to buy it. First-world-problem-sigh.
I was also intrigued after reading EauMG’s review. I thought it might be really nice in other seasons as well, perhaps the ones that go easier on the allergic?
My congestion-biased experience so far is that the scent dries to be very light, so I’m inclined towards wearing it in semi-warm weather, but I think it would be nice in other seasons, too.
I’m wearing Hermes Elixir des Merveilles for the first time. I have Eau des Merveilles, which I prefer. This one is just too sweet.
I liked the other 2 — Ambre d’Merveilles & Eau Claire — much better.
I went swing dancing last night, so I started the jazz celebrations early. I’m wearing vintage Ivoire today.
I miss swing dancing! We used to do that when I lived in Pittsburgh. So much fun – such good exercise!
I’ve heard Pittsburgh has a nice dance community. Why don’t you dance now?
Oh, there’s a litany of life-changed excuses now with more work, kid, etc, But mostly it’s b/c there is no place that hosts swing dances that I can get too easily. I live rural now! But I do get to free-form dance with my 7 yo daughter at home from time to time, and my husband swears he’ll learn to do it when the time comes up. I eventually want to do dances at the library, but first I need to fundraiser for a portable dance floor, lol!
Ah, those all do make it harder. I bet you could teach your daughter the Tranky Doo and add that to your dance parties, and then perhaps pull your husband in….
Ha! I’d love to be able to do a balboa!!! I’ve basically got my daughter to let me spin and dip her – it’s a start!
I put on En Passant in the morning, just to confirm that I have a hard time with lilac fragrances. I love the scent in nature and I love En Passant, just not on me.
I am in DelRae Wit now and I feel much better.
Plus, you smell great (although I like EP too).
Ah! Two of my very favorite scents.
SOTD=Oriza L Legrand Muguet Fleuri. Sorry, new Diorissimo, this is my new favorite LOTV scent. (I don’t have any vintage Diorissimo to compare..) This is soft and smells like lilies of the valley blooming in a little clearing in some deep woods, with other green things around them…it really gets me away from my cubical every time I sniff my hand…
Haven’t heard of that house, but just looked up the frag and it looks interesting! I’m definitely in a floral way these days…
Mmm must try that!
I love vintage-ish Diorissimo (was wearing it yesterday), but Muguet Fleuri sounds like I need to try it.
Spezie di Medici by I Profumi di Firenze. A blast of lemon and orange, then spicy vanilla. It’s just fantastic.
This sounds gorgeous. I would love to have access to the entire iPdF line to sniff them all!
There are AT LEAST thirty scents in the line, according to an article I read: I can’t find an online listing but I’m pretty sure there are actually more like fifty. I think in order to smell them all you’d have to go to Florence, which is completely worth it.
Not a problem. Now, where’s my passport?
Beautyhabit has many IPdFs. After you see what they have, search their site by “sample program.”
I just like reading the name and perfume house, so fun, so Italian. Haven’t really explored that house, and I think it’s massive. If I do a fly by, I’ll try this one first. Sounds nice.
I have a bunch of iPdF on my list of must-tries. That being one of them.
Sampling Heeley L’Amandiere — a marzipan-y mimosa.
ooh! Marzipan!
Ha, you even have it in your name!
That one is nice. It’s been hard for me to find an almond scent that doesn’t tip over into Play-doh.
have you tried that Diptyque mimosa, Essences Insensees?
Nope.
I have a FB of Essences Insensees. I LOVE it!!!
EI is gorgeous! I got a bottle for my birthday last year. It’s really such an outstanding mimosa. And the bottle is gorgeous too.
Love it, on my to buy list, but rather expensive
I have a sample of this somewhere, I really need to make some effort and actually smell the stuff I’ve got.
So many samples, so little skin-time…
I wear samples in the AM and bottles/decants at night, for the most part. Still takes forever to get through them all.
Found the sample! I don’t think I have smelled anything else quite like that before. Nice.
With sampling, it’s usually the other way around for me: I wear familiar things to work and evenings are the play-time.
What’s it like compared to Kiss me Tender?
I’m a fan of L’Amandiere, particularly in its opening. Unfortunately for me (but fortunately for my wallet), it becomes rather powdery in the dry-down on me, even veering into deodorant territory.
But, oh, it’s pretty for a while.
Amouage Memoir Woman. Big scent, it reminds me a little of DK Black Cashmere.
Do you like Aromatics in White?
I love Memoir.
No!!
That’s succinct.
Kevin called it baby bubble bath, I think.
Is that too high praise? Most babies smell pretty good after a bath.
I’m glad of your nuanced opinion of this olfactory “masterpiece” ๐ . I didn’t like it either.
Oddly though I sprayed some on my coat ( huge mistake), and the drydown after about a week was rather pleasant. Not worth the investment though plus I don’t like the bottle.
๐
I am head to toe in (with the body cream and perfume) and wafting of French Lime Blossom and sipping Celebration tea by Mighty Leaf Tea Copmany- a chinese black with longan (a chinese fruit) and notes of chocolate liquor- utterly decadent!
Oh dear, that would be “Company”.
Happy Birthday!
many thanks, Holly!
Sounds delightful all around!
Trying to add a bit of delight to my life as I am at work today!
Happy Birthday!
Thank you, Ann S for the sentiment AND for encouraging me to splurge a bit for my birthday! I felt so pampered this morning with the decadent body cream! (and I usually don’t buy expensive body cream).
Hey, if we can’t pamper ourselves…. ๐ I have just a few body creams and other products – they are special!
Happy birthday!
Thank you , missionista!
Happy birthday!
thank you, austefan!
Happy birthday!
many thanks, Bexca!
Today I am wearing Bulgari Eau Parfumee au The Blanc which I like better than either The Vert or The Rouge. I probably wouldn’t have bought it but it was basically free–I got a 2.5 oz tester for less than thirty bucks and I do reach for it once in a while. What I really enjoy is the body products–the lotion and shampoo/conditioner seemed to have a more pronounced scent.
hermessence iris ukiyoรฉ, pretty but evanescent, as nearly all hermessences, unfortunately
It’s my birthday (I never knew about jazz day!) and I’ve been taken out for a lovely lunch, so to celebrate both these things I’m in Ormonde Jayne Woman. It feels suitably special and opulent. Happy Jazz Day, all! ๐
Happy Birthday, nisotu, from one who shares your birthday date!
Thanks, and Happy Birthday to you too! French Lime Blossom is a good choice – you smell great!
Happy Birthday to both of you!
thank you, poodle!
Happy Birthday, nisotu and chocolatemarsipan, and Happy Jazz Day. Celebrate with some special music: http://playback.fm/birthday-song
OH ,Laila, that was priceless (and fun!)
thank you!
Oh wow, my birthday song is a good one! Thank you!
Happy Birthday!
Happy Birthday!
Happy birthday, hope it is perfect!
Thanks, all! It’s been special and scented.
Happy birthday!!
Happy birthday! OJ Woman is absolutely perfect for such a day. You smell fantastic.
Happy and fragrant birthday, you smell good!
Happy birthday!
In an effort to use it up, I slathered on Pacifica’s Persian Rose body butter… I like the packaging. The rose is waaaay too fruity for me, and something in there makes me almost want to sneeze, and I don’t think it is a good moisturizer. Then I had to do something about the scent….and decided if you can’t beat ’em, join ’em. After an extremely liberal application of SSS’s Velvet Rose, I am now no longer fit for civil society.
Fortunately, the cats seem to forgive me.
Aaaaaachoooooo!
Too funny! A strong rose scent makes me sneeze, too, even from real roses in the outdoors.
I don’t know about the body butter, but my cat seems to like the Persian Rose candle. And there’s no such thing as too much rose (at least according to kitty). I have a few SSS roses, and I routinely drench myself in them.
I think you would improve any society immesureably!
I didn’t like Persian Rose, but I don’t remember why. Velvet Rose will certainly kick it to the curb, lol! That’s one big gorgeous rose!
SOTD is Oui Plus! I received a sample with my Perfumes by Terri order last week and this is a gourmand’s dream!
Notes on website:
graham cracker, marshmallow, cocoa absolute, Peru balsam, patchouli, styrax and a bit of burnt coffee.
I may need a little bottle of this beauty ๐
Oh, my, sounds delicious, I can almost taste it! Not a note in there I wouldn’t enjoy.
I WANT!
I’m not much of a gourmand person, but this sounds great even to me.
Saying goodbye to Bulgari Black today, as I’ve finally decided to give it away. It is interesting and strangely pretty, but one that I found I never craved to wear. Bon voyage, Black!
I never made my peace with it either. The rubber and car tire-thing just smelled like rubber and car-tires on me.
๐
I love walking into the tire store (I do that a lot… farm business).
Black makes me think of bicycle tires and new sneakers – for me it’s a happy, innocent childhood smell. At the same time, I used up my 5ml mini and haven’t missed it since.
Well done on finding a better home for a scent you admire but don’t use. I’m trying to develop that capacity.
Speaking of which, work has been crazy for me the last couple days, but I will get back to you as soon as I have more breathing room…
No worries; more breathing room is the whole idea. ๐
It gets so much love and it is different, but the rubber smell makes me queasy.
I like Black, but I never really feel the need to wear it. When I do, it smells like a stripped down version of Guerlain’s L’Heure Bleue. There is something austere and yet plush about Black.
Yes! It reminds me of something an old boyfriend said to me when he was in a snit. “You’re a push me/ pull me person!”
Black reminds me of that. But for me, Black’s pull is stronger than its push!
๐
I’m going kayaking on the bay later today, so no point in wearing fragrance. I’ll be smelling ocean breezes, seaweed and sun block . . .
B U tiful day for the Bay!
For a day of yoga and yardwork, I’m wearing FM Eau de Magnolia today. I haven’t worn it since last fall and had forgotten how citrussy it is. It’s hitting the spot this morning!
Haven’t done SOTD for a while and have been meaning to. It’s suddenly warm here today and people are on the beach in droves. Not me I’m still in my black jeans but anyway now I’ll have to start putting them away. I’m wearing Copal d’Azur which is a bright incense and really potent. I like it.
Yes! I love this and wear it on the weekends, it’s a little much for my work week situation…
My world is growing greener every day, yet the cool weather has kept the magnolias and forsythias in bloom for weeks. Plums are flowering, viburnum blossoms are opening, daffys and tulips abound. This gloriousness! is being interrupted today by a cold, blustery north wind. It can only be a day for Pierre Balmain Vent Vert . . . . and Vent Vert is John Coltrane, tenor sax, Lush Life.
Love your description.
Vent Vert is perfect for such a green, yet blustery, day!
The day began with Heure Exquise, again, but now I smell lovely in Eau du Sud which just arrived in the mail. Thank you Ann for suggesting it, perfect as a pick me up, and I imagine in many other situations.
Glad I got my 25 ml Heure Exquise a few yrs ago. Tried the edp in the new packaging, and it’s not as nice as my edt. Grrr.
Someone said Eau du Sud is reminiscent of old Eau Sauvage. If that’s true, will have to seek it out.
Oh, yeah! You smell wonderful!! I also realize over the weekend that eau de Sud smells a little bit like my vintage Clarins Eau Dynamisante in the opening notes – must be the basil.
Oh yes, Eau Dynamisante! I thought it reminded me of something other than Cristalle. In my pre perfumista days I used wear Eau Dynamisante all the time, but it is so fleeting. Hope Eau du Sud has greater tenacity. Thank you again Ann!
I have a bottle from about 15 or 20 years ago, and it’s still about half full. I went through a phase when I wanted to live in France and wearing Dynamisante and using all things Clarins was about as close as it was going to get. Funny though b/c Dynamisante lasts forever on my skin! Sud too. Unusual for a Goutal. I haven’t worn my D for a very, very long time, but the other day my hubbie said he wanted to wear something so I sprayed it on him, and then I was like, HEY! That smells like Sud.
I was up before the sun and put on Rosa Magnifica. I think it’s one of the original Aquas Allegoria from Guerlain. I love love love roses, and I started getting interested in perfume specifically because I wanted to smell exactly like roses. But X number of bottles and X-hundred number of samples later, I don’t have an easy-to-wear rose scent! I guess I caught the perfumista bug of wanting to be interested rather than merely pleased…? Anyhow, I have a sample of this RM, and I may have an opportunity to swap for more of it, and I’m trying to figure out if it’s just right or possibly too watery/synthetic. When I don’t think about it too much, it seems perfectly lovely. When I sniff-and-scratch-my-head, I have those doubts. I’d love to hear others’ thoughts on the scent. ๐
Have you tried out Desert Rose by Dame Perfumery. It seems simple and straightforward and pretty to begin with, and then it becomes deeper and more and more enjoyable over a few samplings… the opposite of most rose experiences I have had, which is more what you are describing – interesting to begin with, but getting wimpier with time….
I haven’t, but I think I’ve got a sample of that around here somewhere. Thanks for the suggestion!
Natori today. Beautiful, love it, i smell luxurious!
Natori smells like something Chanel should have released. You smell wonderful!
I totally get that! The plum is so pretty and rich. And the dry down. Oh my.
Happy International Jazz Day! Today I’ll be listening to the soundtrack of Whiplash to celebrate (oh man is that a great film).
SOTD: Chanel Eau de Cologne, which is already fading from my skin as I write this.
Iris Silver Mist today, and loving every second of it. I don’t even usually like iris all that much. But this is fantastic.
yes it is…I like Iris Poudre better, but Iris Silver Mist is right up there in the running for best Iris ever….
Also in the midst of trying to use it up (perfume samples and decants as well as beauty product samples/GWP that are just laying around). So today is Carthusia Mediterraneo. The lemon! So lemony! And then some tea. If I respritz after lunch, I might finish up the decant. I have a lot of citrus stuff, so probably won’t go on the buy list, but it is a very good one.
I’m keeping on me week of roses with Parfums di Nicolai Rose Pivoine. I always forget how simple and fresh this one is. Very pretty.
Rose Pivoine is pretty. I love that PdN has those little 30mL bottles. I succumbed to its charms after a sample, and haven’t regretted it. It’s fun hearing about your rose week. Waft on!
Yeah, I have the 30 mls too, and it’s about half empty so I’m wondering if I should get another. Now I need to spend some fun time doing research on my roses to find out which have tea accords! I don’t know if I’m going to want to wear Zeste de Rose tomorrow b/c it’s going to rain…
Vanille 44 today, after reading about the Tauer Vanilla, set me to craving. I suspect this is more sweet, but haven’t tried the Tauerville scent yet. V44 is probably my favorite vanilla. Be well.
happy jazz day everyone!
I’m wearing acqua di parma colonia, which in jazz terms translates into Django Reinhard and midnight in paris ๐
I am wearing Oellet Bengale, and the only remote connection to jazz is that the last time I went to Aedes de Venustus, I proceed to a jazz concert in the park to see Jimmy Scott.
This morning, I was oblivious that today was jazz day. However, while driving to work,I did think of my favorite jazz vocalist (well actually my favorite all time singer in any genre, who has influenced all singers everywhere) the great Billie Holiday.
What do you think of Oeillet Bengale?
I didn’t know today was International Jazz Day. I am wearing Bulgari Omnia today, which I’m not sure what that would translate to in jazz terms.
Why to the Dave Brubeck Quintet, instantly like able and accessible just like Omnia, but once you venture further you realize that Alberto Morillas is a brilliant nose to create saffron where there is none and Dave Brubeck his complex time stamps hidden in that sunny, easy going West Coast Jazz.
Damn auto correct, it is the Dave Brubeck Quartet!
Excellent call!
Yesterday I kissed my husband hello when he got home and was stunned by the beauty of his cologne. At first I thought the scent was PdN New York, but it turned out that he had sprayed on some vintage Grey Flannel from a decant I gave him ages ago. What a gorgeous one that is! Smelling it without the prejudice of knowing what it was, I realized it is better than anything else he has.
The only perfume I have on today is a bit of lingering Lyric Woman on the sleeve of my sweatshirt. It is beautiful but the only part of it that isn’t totally too big for me is the dry down. I sold my bottle on eBay last week.
Later I think I will put on some original Armani from the 80s in honor of the Hot Jazz club.
Vintage Grey Flannel is equally stunning on a woman (you should try some on yourself).
Is there a noticeable difference between vintage Grey Flannel and the current formulation? If you don’t know about the vintage, is the current formulation nice enough?
I haven’t experienced the current formulation but from what I read it is not the same as vintage….I had and wore vintage quite some time ago! Stunning!
I find Lyric hard to wear too, and my large decant has been gradually swapped away the past few years.
SOTD is 31 Rue Cambon..
Beautiful.
I wish I’d known it was jazz day, as I might have chosen something with a little more “ooomph!” Instead I went with Diptyque Eau Rose. It’s not my favorite rose, but it’s not without its merits.
Nothing for another couple of hours but then I’m going to Bergdorf’s to go sniffing with a few perfume friends for probably the last time before I move back to Boston in a couple of weeks. I’ll be back at least once a month though. Still, I hadn’t been to Twisted Lily for a couple of months and there were whole new lines that I had to at least sniff on paper and get some samples and sniff the new releases and I guess I’ll end up a little behind once I’m no longer in the area (so sad)
Have fun tonight!!
SOTE– JAR Bolt of Lightning, JAR Diamond Water, Guerlain Shanghai, Guerlain French Kiss. I am particularly surprised at how nice the latter is on me since the notes didn’t really seem my style.
I keep sniffing the Gourmand Coquin on my left arm… I’m a combo of that, Stella, Feves Delicieuses (is that the name?), Irish Leather…
It’s a good combo.
Amouage Interlude woman for me today, as I struggle to stay awake at my desk…
Note to self: self, do not try questionable perfume samples given to you by well meaning perfume sales associates. That is all.
