Christian Dior has launched Fève Délicieuse, the latest addition to their upscale La Collection Privée Christian Dior fragrance series. The last entry in the collection was Cuir Cannage.
Woven around a Venezuelan Tonka Bean Absolute, this composition by Dior Perfumer-Creator François Demachy literally ravishes the senses. Drawn by the "immediate seduction" of this ingredient, François Demachy wanted to create a personalized representation of the Tonka Bean. An exercise in composition that plays on contrasts by celebrating both its sweetness and its delectable touch of bitterness. The warm and slightly smoky notes of Madagascan Vanilla were combined with the Tonka Bean to complete the evocative sensation of delight...
I wanted to compose a fragrance that would be a personalized representation of the Tonka Bean and celebrate the duality between its sweetness and its surprising touch of bitterness. This avid appeal and love of harmony naturally espouse the Dior spirit. François Demachy, Dior Perfumer-Creator
Additional notes for the gourmand fragrance include bergamot, praline, caramel and woods.
Christian Dior Fève Délicieuse is available in 125 ($210) or 250 ($300) ml.

“Delicious Bean”. Works better in French.
Sounds good, though.
Way better in French. If you’re not French, perhaps…no idea if it works in French if you’re French 🙂
Want!
I am so behind on this collection that I give up…
I have ordered a large decant… word on basenotes is that it is caramelly and delicious indeed. Can’t wait!
Tonka been exract smells to me like a cross between vanilla and bitter almonds. I’m not sure I will appreciate the more caramelly tones of it brought to the front. I actually prefer straight up coumarin, which is the dominating molecule in tonka and a complex enough on its own. I often use it in hobby blends instead of vanillin to add sweetness and fullness.
