It's Figgy Friday! Today's community project: wear a fig perfume, if you dare. I know some of you won't dare, so partial credit for other dried fruit notes.
I'm wearing Parfums di Nicolaï Fig Tea. It is really not all that figgy, but I've already worn Diptyque Philosykos so much this year that I thought I'd branch out. Anyway, Fig Tea is lovely even if it's not a fig bomb.
Reminder: next Friday, 3 April, is Chanel TNG: wear something by perfumer Olivier Polge.
And for those of you who like to plan ahead, see Scent of the day ~ Friday community projects 2015, where I'll try to always have the next five or six weeks mapped out in advance.

There’s a fig tree where we regularly holiday in Greece. It’s on the corner of the road just as it turns onto the seafront and the beach. In the heat of summer the smell is pungent, but amazing – woody, green, buttery, and all underscored with that repellent but compelling honeyish urinous note. I want it as perfume, but I haven’t found it yet… The trouble seems to be that urinous note. In some of the figs I’ve tried, when it’s time for that to make an appearance, the perfumer seems to substitute it with… coconut! Now I love coconut as a foodstuff but I HATE IT in perfume. Here’s a little equation to illustrate:
Me + Coconut = BLEARGH + Acetone + Pan Scrub
Now I know that they might not even contain coconut as a note and it’s probably an olfactory illusion, my skin (I’m usually pretty lucky though – what I get on a tester strip is usually what I’ll get on skin) or a combination of both, but the moment I read it as such it’s a goner! So far the only figs that work for me are the greener ones. Today I’m in L’Artisan’s Premier Figuer and it’s lovely, but it’s not my holy grail fig. I have tried Philosykos which is touted to be the most realistic fig out there, and although I can appreciate why it seems so widely loved, it just didn’t work for me (an hour in I might as well have smothered my arm in coconut milk!). So I’m really looking forward to everyones comments today – I’m sure the fig perfume I want is out there somewhere (or maybe not!)…
You could try layering a fig perfume with a touch of Miel du Bois for that honey urinous note.
That could be the way forward. I have a small bottle of Smell Bent’s Hansel & Dreidel (I think that was the Honey/Tramps Crotch one) somewhere that I could try layering with.
I’m with you on the coconut: Great in food, but not in perfume. Unfortunately fig also doesn’t work for me. I’m now wondering if that coconut-ish note is the culprit. I can’t handle Philosykos.
I wore Atelier Figuier Adrent yesterday, and it is a dry and woody fig. Worth a try, it’s not sweet or coconut try! I think it’s a sephora exclusive.
Thanks. I would like to try a few other fig perfumes to see if there’s one I can tolerate. 🙂
That’s one I definitely need to get a sample of. Generally get on really well with Atelier…
I am definitely in the minority as I love coconut as a note (as well as creamy fig)….I wear coconut oil (the kind you cook with) as a body butter all summer long.
I love coconut notes, especially in summer.
I’m with you, too, on coconut and creamy fig.
I like just a little bit of coconut to give that weird fresh smelling lift. Too much of it makes me think that I didn’t need to find that aroma in an expensive fragrance.
Me three. Coconut = summer for me.
I love your equation! 😀
Have you tried SSS Fig Tree? Here is perfumer Laurie Erickson’s comment about it:
Perfumer’s Comments: Many fig scents have strong coconut notes from the creamy lactones that are often used in fig accords. In Fig Tree, I chose to minimize the coconut rather than to accentuate it. I envisioned a perfume that would evoke the various aspects of a fig tree in summer, with green, fruity, creamy, and woodsy notes.
So obviously she agrees with you.
I second Fig Tree which I love but there is a bit of creaminess in it too my nose.
Bob, I also quickly find the typical coconut fig accord tiresome. You might also try Aftelier Fig. It is very different from the usual fig accord and has a urinous side. Too much for my nose, but I love the line in general, especially Tango.
Sounds like I need to track that one down.
Chemical coconut is why I can’t stand Bronze Goddess. I personlly did not like the Atelier fig.
Same here! I didn’t get fig from the Altelier at all….in fact from the 10 or so samples I ordered the only one that was OK with my skin chemistry was Ancient Resins….the Cuir Gardenia ended up like rotten flowers on my wrist 🙁 ….very sad b/c I really was hoping to fall in love with something from this line.
and hausuuri, thanks for your input yesterday on the new Jo malones….I was curious about the Birch and Pepper on as well…in fact I really want to try them all (except PN which I have an FB of already). I was hoping to get to a more metropolitan area for perfume shopping (Jo Malone, large Sephoras that carry Ateliers and Commodity….found that brand at Sephora online and it looks interesting) for Easter but my plans have changed….maybe at the end of April….by then the Summer Limited Editions of JM (Osmanthus Blossom, Cherry Blossom and one other I cannot remember) will be debuting……
Yikes! Just realized you were talking about a different brand! (not Mandy Aftel!) sorry!
I was talking about Aftelier but my middle aged brain doesn’t work so well any more and my typing skills are horrific!
For the unrinous note, try AG Ninfeo mio.
I love it, but it definitely smells like tree pee.
Philosykos today. Figgy day makes me happy, cause that’s what I call my cat (his name is Figaro).
Scent twins! For me this is the one fig to rule them all. Not that I’ve tried so many figs, but certainly of the 3 I’ve worn this week, this is the standout.
Triplets!
Quads! Philosykos was my first FB purchase after falling down this rabbit hole. Still love it.
Quints!
What comes after quints? That’s what I am. Love fig perfumes. Philosykos was my first, too.
Sextuplets, I think 😉
I don’t own fragrances that are fig-centric. Sure, I own a few that list figs as an incidental ingredient, loke Carbone de Balmain, but I would not call those fig scents. So I cheated just a little and went with Salvatore Ferragamo pour Homme. It has a big bright fig leaf note that I love….. So…. I’m wearing a fig leaf! Lol
Ha, that works!
Heehee
Think I’ll join you ( though I do have Womanity ) as I wore Opium today and it’s still going ,and going ,and going it’s the energizer bunny of perfumery it’s STILL going 14 + hours… Time to add a bit of a variation with layering . Also I think the bottle was volunteering itself today as I bumped it off ( it’s in box and the floor is carpeted -no damage) the shelf. Okay . Got the message . I’ll wear it.
Totally thought you’d be in Philosykos!
I’m wearing Capri Forget Me Not (Carthusia): fig, lime, and mint. It’s amazing because these three notes are all so perfectly legible at the same time.
that sounds amazing! fig ,lime and mint !
It’s really good. I reviewed it on Bois de Jasmin if you want more details.
Thankyou! I will head over to BdJ during my lunch and give it a throrough read 🙂 !!
I couldn’t resist so I read it now…you had me at “fils de dieu” and vanilla inflected mint! I am definitely going to have to try this one! It sounds like a great summer scent!
Sorry for creating lemmings but I hope you like it! It’s incredibly fresh and pretty, very Mediterranean.
Ditto! Love fig, love mint, love lime!
I am only unpredictable on very rare occasions.
And I need to try that one!
Add some gin and I would probably drink this.
Or rum! Fig mojito.
I had a tough time choosing today’s scent, as fig is one of my favorite notes, and I own more fig-centric scents than I probably should. As I’ve worn several sweeter scents this week, I decided to move away from the fig-coconut milk combo for today, and I ended up choosing Profumum Ichnusa. I love this one because it gives ‘the full fig experience’: juicy fruit, green leaves, woody stems. It’s a very bright and luscious fragrance. If I can’t be outside enjoying the gorgeously warm spring weather today, at least my sillage can generate some sunshine in my office.
Another one I have not tried! Sounds lovely.
Piggybacking on Robin’s blackcurrant/fig combo I am wearing Escada’s 1993 limited edition Shiffon Sorbet with notes of blackcurrant, mango, plum, dark fig, cedar, sandalwood, amber and vanilla. This one seems to have more complexity than the current Escada LE summer offerings and I rather like it!
Have a great weekend, all!
what I meant to say was Robin’s combo from yesterday (obviously not today’s fragrance choice!)
Yum. That sounds great.
This sounds good!
I was lucky enough to “inherit” a coffret set of mini of the originals (1993-1999) from a good friend who only drained one of the minis (Un Ete en Provence, which was her favorite). I will be wearing the others soon!
Those early Escada summer editions create immediate 1990s nostalgia!
I was testing Jovoy Gardez-Moi yesterday, which could be the granddaughter of Chiffon Sorbet. More tuberose, I guess (it’s supposed to be gardenia, but not quite). It’s too bad the whole fruity floral trend didn’t stop with Chiffon Sorbet and Summer in Provence. 😉
If I weren’t so obsessed by Heure Exquise I would have worn 23 Janvier 1984 by Pozzo di Borgo, Bergamot, Petitgrain, Fig, Iris and Cardamon. The fig and iris really stand out, lovely, and I will start wearing it again once my HE phase is over (will it pass?).
Le jardin en Mediterranee and Pacifica Mediterranean Fig (the solid version) are also waiting for their turn.
If it never passes, you will save tons of money 🙂
When I fell down the RH 9 months ago, I thought, “What is wrong with me, I can’t get enough perfumes, I have an insatiable hunger for more and different”, and now I think “What is wrong with me, I only want one perfume…”. I hope the much more seasoned perfumista’s here have some wise words ;-)! And all that money saved can possibly buy me a bath full of HE!
I say consider yourself lucky that you found your “one true love” (doesn’t mean you can’t stray from time to time 🙂 !!) and yes…buy a bathful of HE!
6m for me and I’m still in the ‘wow so much to smell’ phase 🙂
Have you tried AG Passion? 😉
Not yet Nozknoz, my heart is taken ;-)!
STC is having a 20% off sale – I say you should stray 🙂
Tempting!
I am not affiliated, but if you are looking for samples of AG fragrances the site beauty encounter sells a lot of the AG manufacturer’s testers. I finally got some for Nuit Etoilee about a month ago….
Thank you Ann for this suggestion. I live in Europe though, (the Netherlands), so I probably will end up paying lots of postage and sometimes import tax. But there is a lovely perfumery in the Hague selling all AG’s, including samples. After reading your lovely list I ordered quite a few. Now I have to wait till I am over HG and ready to venture out again!
Is that Celeste Parfums, by any chance? I ordered from them once (I’m in the U.S.) in order to get the EdP version of Mon Parfum Cheri par Camille. The service was great and they included so many posh samples that it balanced out the international shipping cost. At that time, they had all the special AG bottles with butterfly and moon stoppers, too.
It is indeed Celeste!
Lovely shop and as far as I know they sell all the special bottles too.
I don’t think HE was ever sold in the butterfly bottle though.
Good luck anyway! There is a lot to like in the AG line.
I own Pink Sugar (has a fig leaf note), but I haven’t worn it in years because the burned plastic note started to bother me. For dried fruit, I could have worn Jacomo 08, but my bottle of Diptyque 34 Boulevard Saint Germain Essences Insensees EDP arrived yesterday, and it is SO BEAUTIFUL that I had to wear it today. I wore it to bed last night, and when my husband gave me a “good morning” hug, he told me that I smelled good. This is one time when I don’t mind having a gallon (100 ml) of a perfume. [Insert contented sigh here.]
I wore Pink Sugar at the onset of the week with a heavy overlay of dark patchouli from Eden that I aged….it actually smelled pretty good!
I imagine that patchouli would cover up that burned note. It’s strange, but I could tolerate a lot more patchouli in my youth.
I got some the Essences Insensees for a birthday present last fall. It is by far the most gorgeous mimosa I’ve ever smelled.
Yes, I remember you mentioning that! When Robin mentioned it in July, I was interested. Then, Beauty Habit included a sample with one of my orders, and I fell in love with it.
The only fig I have is an old bottle of BBW Brown Sugar & Fig and that wasn’t happening. Anyway, I was traveling for work yesterday and lost a bracelet my SO gave me that I’ve loved and worn daily for years. I wasn’t in the mood for anything that stretched me emotionally, and needed something I loved, so I’m wearing PHI. It’s got apricot…. that’s a fruit that sometimes gets dried. Good enough.
That totally sucks about the bracelet 🙁 I’d be really upset too. Hopefully it’s one of those ones that miraculously reappear 🙂
Oh, so sorry.
Sorry to hear about the MIA bracelet, but if anything can console you, it would be PHI! Such a warm and lovely scent, it’s one of my top Five Loves. I will keep my fingers crossed you will find your bracelet =)
Crap. That’s the worst. I once lost a one of a kind hand carved gold ring that was made by a mutual friend – a gift from my closest friend – it was heartbreaking. But you know what? I found it six months later on the porch after a long Winter. I guess it had slipped off my finger the previous Fall when I was taking care of the plants. Sometimes things come back. But if your bracelet doesn’t, just thank it for all the joy it has given you and let it go without guilt or remorse.
Thanks, that’s such good advice. I’m glad your ring made it back to you! But you’re right, I got to enjoy my bracelet for years and I appreciate that. I hope it magically comes home, but if someone finds and keeps it, I want it to be loved where ever it ends up.
When I lose something special, once I am kind of getting over it, I like to imagine that it becomes very special to the person who found it. Maybe they were having a bad day; maybe they never owned something so nice; maybe it became a present that will be meaningful to someone they love. It is hard to lose a wonderful, sentimental piece of jewelry. But it may go on to have a wonderful life and still be very special. Did you ever see the movie Red Violin?
I haven’t seen it. Sounds like it will be a good addition to my sulking/coping process… not to be dramatic or anything 🙂
Another hopeful story… I lost just one drop earring. The pair was a gift from my husband and was crafted by my favorite local jeweler. I searched everywhere and was on the verge of contacting the jeweler to make a replacement when I found it in a zippered pocket in my purse! I hope your bracelet magically returns to you!
Sorry about the bracelet. That sucks! I’ve lost a few pieces of jewelry over the years and it always breaks my heart because they are so often gift, and sometimes really irreplaceable. But I think Sajini’s advice is the best way to look at it. I think it’s better to lose something after having worn it and enjoyed it a lot than getting it stolen or lost when it’s been in a box being “saved for special occasions”. (I guess that goes with perfume too; wear it and don’t let it spoil!)
Amen to that.
So sorry about your bracelet. I have lost several important to me pieces over the years and it never gets any easier. I think AnnS is right, imagining that whoever finds it can really enjoy it is the best thing.
Thanks. It’s definitely a hard loss, but I’d rather someone finds it (and loves it) than no one finds it (and it’s never worn again)
No points for me today. I’m not overly fond of fig in perfume (and am allergic to fresh figs, but I can have them cooked/preserved).
It’s been a weird week for me of no sleep, odd weather – seriously what was up with yesterday’s schizo-ness! rainy, cold, warm, humid, sunny – then thunderstorms!? – so I needed something comforting and slightly “dark” today. Memoir Woman it is.
That weather is called ‘spring’ 🙂 We’re having the same and I have to say I love it, I’ve always loved stormy crazy weather though, even have a photo of myself as a kid standing out in the rain and wind with my arms open and eyes closed and a big smile just savoring the moment.
But like you I do not love fig in perfume. I’ve tried several and they seriously give me the gags.
My sotd is Mona di Orio’s smooth and lovely Musc. Happy weekend everyone!
I was hoping last night we’d have some thundersnow – I was getting my 7 yo daughter kind of excited for it, but we only got dreary cold rain. Blah. I’m right there with you: figs are not for the weather we are having.
I don’t do fig in general – it’s not the fruit and it’s not the coconut aspect that bother me, it’s that cursed bitter fig leaf. Urgh. But y’all enjoy.
Was going to get out my sample of PdN Fig Tea, which I do like, but I will be traveling out of town today for the funeral of an extended family member (my brother-in-law’s mother) tomorrow. So it will be Chanel No. 19 edp for me.
I think No. 19 makes a good funeral perfume. (And a good traveling perfume, for that matter.) Has the right solemnity. Hope it’s not too unpleasant an outing!
19 is an awesome choice anytime!
mals- this is off topic but Ann S recommended beauty encounter for AG samples and when I looked they have a mini bottle of Victoria!
I went out and got a sample of Atelier’s new fig scent, fully intending to wear it today … and completely forgot about it. So I’m wearing Natori instead.
I love Natori and was not aware it had a fig note…I could have worn it this week 🙂 !
Neither was I, and I wear it like every other day. Or was Desirae just wearing it because? Either way – still love that one.
Natori has no fig notes, for those wondering! I wore it because I forgot Figgy Friday was even a thing. However I did test out the Atelier later in the day and found it very nice – woodsy and green and unisex. It probably won’t replace Philosykos in anyone’s heart but it’s worth checking out.
Natori has a fig note? Yee-haw! I love a good oriental. The are like the the soup of the fragrance world: just keep putting odd bits in and it will be good. I could have worn that today!
Not for love nor money could you get me into a fig scent, but someone the other day was lauding Hermes Eau de Narcisse Bleu, so I put on a sprit from a sample and it really is gorgeous — bitter green and cologney at first, slowly warming up as it ages and unexpectedly long-lived.
We’re in Edinburgh and the exchange rate is punitive (although I priced Serge Lutens this morning and it was unexpectedly competitive) so I’m probably not buying anything, but I would like to report that all the toiletries in the hotel are L’Occitane verbena, right down to the bar soap. Lovely!
What a treat! You may need to add those toiletries to your luggage when you leave. They would just be disposed of anyway…right?
They’re all coming with me!
I love lemony verbena! The only other fragrance that gets me there is lemongrass. So refreshing!
Ditto on the lemongrass! I add lemongrass essential oil to just about everything…shampoo, hand soap, dish soap, body lotion…….
Me too….
Mmm, verbena. I’m not a big citrus fan, except in ephemeral stuff like body products, where I *really* like it.
This may have been me 🙂 In any case, happy that you like Narcisse Bleu.
Imaginary Authors Yesterday Haze. I like this one, probably because I don’t detect much fig.
Oh, I really like Yesterday Haze, I want to get a bottle for next fall. I get just a touch of fig.
Don’t own anything with fig in it but it’s snowing today. Think I will wear Frapin 1270 or Theorema. Just love the candied/spiced fruit combination in those two.
Ooh, I love both of those!
I am wearing Profumum Dambrosia. I find this so real. It is a little difficult to wear scent and one little drop is enough for the whole day.
Today i wore L’Artisan Premiere Figuier Extreme from the adorable green figgy bottle, but I was over fig by work this evening so am now in De Profundi. Does Uncle Serge rotate through all the bell jar scents as ltd ed export bottles? Because I really want me a bottle of this..
I smell rather yummily edible in Figgy Plum from Soivohle. Most of the time fig perfumes don’t do much for me
I could wear a fruity fig scent if there weren’t any fig leaf. That one sounds good – is it still in production?
To me Womanity smells like dried figs rather than fig leaf.
It’s one of the mixed media scents so it’s half priced and discontinued but still available
I put on some Santal Massoia just because it’s been ages since I last wore it, but it seems extra-wimpy today so I might end up topping up with Philosykos in a couple of hours.
Why didn’t I think of that? SM is great stuff, and I have one of those nomads in my cabinet. It is figgy, and creamy yet fresh all at once. I knew NST peeps would have good ideas for fig scents. I will stick that on later. You smell nice.
I thought I would be in a distinct minority posting a contrarian comment, but not so! It looks to be about 50 – 50.
With a hat tip to BobH’s equation:
Me + Fig = Bleurgh + Windex + Scrubber
No scent this week since I got some questionable beef in some homemade chili (not mine) last Sunday. Anything else would be TMI.
Oy. Feel better.
Thanks! I actually had tea this a.m. for the first time since Mon. so things are looking up.
Yaaaay!
🙂
Oh, dear. And during your event of the year. I’ve been thinking of you while watching Kentucky beat up on everyone. I hope you feel better soon.
Thank you! But after sleeping most of Tues., Wed. and Thurs., I was definitely ready for out late start last night. Amazing what a 39 point blow-out will do for your health! 😀
BTW – GO WILDCATS!
You’ve just become an honorary member of the BBN (Big Blue Nation)!
😉
I had to turn the game off. It was too painful to watch – like my cat playing with a mouse, torture before impending death. My Spartans just eeked out a win over Oklahoma. I hope to see you at the end!
I *love* the Spartans and Tom Izzo!! He’s always such a class act and a great coach. I would love to play you guys in the final, but you’ll have to beat Duke to do it, which I’m praying you do!!
I hope you feel better. You’d not want any fragrance to be associated with stomach distress!
You’re right, but ironically, I had a new bottle that had just arrived of SSS CdB sitting on the kitchen counter and periodically I’d get little wafts of that (in the box!) and I actually enjoyed it.
I can only imagine! It has really lovely and strong sillage!
Oh, no. Sorry you are feeling badly. I agree on generally avoiding fragrance when one has GI illness. It can cause negative scent associations that persist–to this day I can’t abide Hershey’s chocolate syrup, or even strong cocoa notes in perfume. Bleargh! Shake it off, rest lots, and rejoin our fragrant throng. Be well!
Thanks, Hemlock. I’m feeling better every day. And that’s a bummer about the cocoa note! I surprised myself by enjoying it quite a lot in L’Heure Defendue and SSS Cocoa/Sandalwood.
I have tried two other fig scents, Pacifica’s Mediterranean Fig, and L’Artisan’s Premier Figuer. I dislike both of them because they smell musty on my skin. So, looking around at Fragrantica’s list of scents with fig notes, imagine my surprise that Womanity is supposed to be full of figs – fig fruit, fig wood, fig leaf + caviar. So, having received a mini of Womanity last month, that is what I chose to wear. Surprise! I am actually enjoying it. It may be that I like it because I don’t smell the fig. It smells spicy, almost peppery.
I haven’t fallen in love with fig thus far, so I’m going in a completely different direction – Cuir de Russie on one arm and Keiko Mecheri’s Attar de Roses on the other. Enjoying the Chanel “blurred luminous abstraction” as well as the rosy rosy rosiness coming from either side of me.
Attar de Roses? you smell amazing! Idrained a full bottle of that beauty a few years ago!!!
Isn’t it lovely? I’m out of the jammy opening now and enjoying the rosy amber. I’ve only got a sample right now, but it’s great.
It sounds amazing!Anything else you can compare it to?Lush Rose Jam?The Tauer roses, maybe?
I haven’t smelled Rose Jam yet, but I want to! I also don’t have extensive experience with the Tauer roses, nor many other things.
BUT – in my (very) limited experience, the first thing that comes to mind for comparison is that it’s a bit like a Natori without the plumminess. Kind of sweet, with the roses and the amber creating a honeyed kind of warmth.
What do you think Bardot?
yes…to my nose they are “sister” scents but Attar is so warm and lush….definitely honeyed! That was my “winter go to” a few years ago.
Oh and another honeyed/plummy rose I happen to like is SSS Rose Volupte….it is a reformulation of Vintage Rose which was discontinued…but out of the three I would have to say that Attar is by far my favorite!
and for discontinued rose/ambers I also love Victoria (the original Victoria’s Secret…their first fragrance…so gorgeous and not anything like the current stuff) and Pacifica’s Egyptian Bergamot Rose….
As my daughter would say: What the?!? You have the new Rose Queen mantle! Attar de Roses is insanely gorgeous! I had a sample of that that I drained with enthusiasm a few years ago. I’ve always had it lingering on my to-buy list. You smell amazing!!! For what it’s worth, I think that the Aerin Lauder Evening Rose smells like a watery version of Attar de Roses….
Ha! It might just be a phase! Who knows? I get into things and get enthusiastic. The Attar de Roses is just a little sample that someone generously gave me, but I’m loving it.
Come and play in New York, Ann – we’d have so much fun!!
I know, I know. One of these months….. !!!!
SOTD: Flagrant Delice by Terry de Gunzburg.
A simple pretty straightforward fig. Her description is of a sweet milky fig but to me it is not quite so still. More green than sweet.
I love fig fragrances so if anyone has a sweet milky fig please let me know! I would also love to try Roger& Gallets new fig EdP. I wonder if its out already…
Is it Fleurs de Figuier or a different one? I have a small bottle of that and it’s a kind of mainstream slightly sweet/light ‘floral’ with a figgy aspect to it. I think R&G use the same base with all their modern edts and just add a bit of fig, or green tea, or whatever. I admit I use mine as linen sprays…
Its the very same line but just higher concentration in EdP.
Oh I hardy ever use my Rogers as real fragrances too since they last like, 30 minutes on my skin? I might use one after a shower to up the “refreshment factor” but mostly they just function as room sprays…
Oh i didnt realise! Hopefully it means it will be figgier.
The only one not available here that i wanted to try was the osmanthus, but then i figured if the rest were a bit limp that one would be too..
As I mentioned above there is a creaminess (at least to my nose!) to SSS Fig Tree so you might like that one…she has other pretty offerings if you are interested in purchasing samples.
Thanks! Will definitely check it out.
I had nothing with fig as far as I knew, so like PriscillaE I checked the note list at Fragrantica. The only one (of a long list) that I own is Dune, which is supposed to have fig leaf. So I’m wearing Dune.
Wow, good research! I thought I was totally fig free, but I could have done Dune! Who knew?
I thought it was only in Dune Pour Homme but if it’s in regular Dune, I’ll have another Figgy Friday (and Saturday and …)
AG Ninfeo Mio for me today. The fig note is present but not in your face. Love this stuff in the hotter months!
I have to ask – Did the Terracotta get to your house and did you like it?
Also anxiously awaiting Deva’s response to Terracotta! 😉
Since I’m out of anything figgy, I’m doing plummy Friday, with wonderful Rochas Femme. Perfect for a cool sunny day, I really love the mellowness of this one.
I am joining you in plum, as I do not have any fig fragrances with me right now. Wearing Le Parfum de Therese.
Fig perfumes! With apologies for the cheat (since I’m not actually wearing either) but I am big fan of Annick Goutal’s Ninfeo Mio and a no-longer-wearing-because-I-overdid-it-once fan of Parfum Delrae Bois de Paradis.
I can totally see that Bois de Paradis can be too much of a good thing. I’ve never consciously realised that there is fig in there.
I’m right there with you on Bois de Paradise. I can only appreciate it from across the room now, even though I did love it very much once. Just like my sentimental feelings for an old boyfriend I loved to pieces but never want to be near again, lol.
Bois de Paradis has fig? I would spray some on (a tiny bit under my clothes, I’m not crazy) but fear it would trigger an extreme reaction from my husband today. It’s getting too warm to wear it anyway so perhaps I will just go huff the bottle.
Some perfumes really should come in old fashioned dauber bottles. And I’m also looking at you, FM Portrait of a Lady.
Wearing Pacifica’s Mediterranean Fig. This was a blind buy for me a couple years ago. I don’t wear it often but when I do it makes me happy.
So glad it’s Friday…what a long week this has been!
makes me happy too! It is such an easy fragrance to wear…for me a no brainer 🙂 !
I have Meditteranean Fig in a sample of the solid. I have a problem with it turning musty on my skin, almost like mold or mildew. I was wondering if you have the solid or the spray? Maybe the spray would work better?
I have both the solid and the spray (MF is my favorite Pacifica), and I do think the solid is earthier than the spray, hence the mustiness you might be getting. The spray version was my SOTD yesterday, and I think it’s sweeter. I hadn’t worn it for some time, and it was sweeter than I remembered.
I have the solid, the spray and the “perfume” roll on which is the strongest of the three….I agree with sweetgrass that the solid leans more “earthy” …the roll-on has the most lasting power and is definitely sweeter to my nose….
I have the perfume roll and the soap, which I especially like.
I’m in Soivohle’s Figgy Plum, the only fig that I’ve found really wearable. I do love the scent of figs – I’ve just had a heck of a time finding a fig perfume that doesn’t make it seem as if I’m enveloped in a cloud of home spray when I wear it.
Twins!
You are smart, with great taste, and best of all, you smell good.
SOTD is Anthousa Fig & Vetiver, my favorite spring fig, spritzed lavishly because it’s light and fleeting, topped with a dab or two of SSS Fig Tree for added depth. I get no coconut from the Fig & Vetiver, just light, sweet, green fig amidst a background of soft vetiver. Fig Tree is creamier but again I get no coconut in this one either.
My favorite summer fig is the d/c C&E Sonoma Valley, fig/nectarine/mimosa/grapeleaf. It’s a hot-air balloon ride over Napa Sonoma. (No coconut, very green slightly herbal.)
I love fig scents, those with coconut notes and those w/o, but they are warm-weather scents for me and all wrong today. We’re snow-covered with temps only in the 20’s, so later I will add some depth to the vetiver with the patchouli in Cartier Le Baiser du Dragon and hope that the dragon’s fiery kiss warms up this cold January-like day!
Totally agree on the Fig Tree…it’s creamy but not coconuty…you smell great! Stay warm L) !!
That WAs supposed to be a happy face but my finger missed the key 🙂 !!!!
My SOTD is Diptyque Philosykos. I just recently bought a fairly large sample bottle to try this one out. I took it one step forward by using Bath and Body Works “Brown Sugar and Fig” shower gel and body spritz. So, I have fig from my head to my toes! lOL!
Honestly, I like Jo Malone’s Wild Fig and Casis better. I am a lover of fragrances that have fig in it, so the stronger the scent of fig is, the better in my opinion. And Wild Fig and Casis does that for me. Plus, the longevity of WFand C is a lot better. I know that people will say that I am partial to Jo Malone, but what can I say? 🙂
No worries….I am in your camp too! JM Fig and Cassis is odd but I love it! And I do like other JM offerings as well…luckily I get pretty good longevity as I have often read this is a complaint regarding the line….
I forgot about the project, but fig is really left for the hottest months for me. The only one I own as a FB is Fico di Amalfi–grapefruit and fig, which is very refreshing in high humidity. In any case, SOTD is L’Air du Desert Morracain, as I wanted something to keep me company this morning!
We are making the final, valient effort to move the rest of Mr. Spicebomb’s things either into my house or into storage, and while he is tooling about with the truck (with his brother), I will be packing and cleaning things at his apartment. SO, LADM and a good audiobook while I putter away on my own a bit. . .
This moving day sounds like a milestone – best wishes to you and Mr. Spicebomb!
By the way, I tried Hermes Bel Amis Vetiver. I like it very much but it would be ideal on a guy. Worth a try for Mr. Spicebomb if he hasn’t already.
I have yet to find a fig spray that doesn’t remind me of hairspray from the 80s. (Aqua Net, Final Net,…any of the Nets…) So today’s SOTD is Jo Malone Birch and Black Pepper over Wild Fig and Cassis bath oil. It kinda counts? I’m undecided on if I like the combo or not, but it’s not as sharp as I expected and that’s a good thing.
I am interested in what you think about the Birch and Black Pepper…..
I am very happy with it. I get a lot of smokey, sharp woods and a little leather. My husband says I smell like tires that just screeched on the pavement. It’s very different from anything else I own. The most similar scent I know of is Bulgari Black, which has been near the top of my buy list for awhile. This knocks it down some, if not making it totally unnecessary. The SA at Nordstrom likes it layered with the saffron scent from the cologne intense collection because it smells like a new car. 🙂
I must be a fig virgin because I don’t believe I have any perfumes that even have fig as one ingredient. But if I ever do want to explore fig, there’s a wealth of info in this thread. So thank you!
Still home sick and scent free. When we were in Florida last week we stayed with my husband’s cousin for a couple of days. She mentioned that she used to wear Shalimar a few years back and really loved it, but now might want something a bit more modern. So today I ordered a bunch of Shalimar/flanker samples plus Wit and a couple of others for her to try. She is one of those people with a spotless, clutter free home and everything exactly as she likes it, so buying her a household item to say thank you was kind of out of the question.
You’re right, this is a useful poll, and even for someone who has tried the classic fig scents – L’AP Premier Figuier and Diptyque Phylosokos. There are so many others I was not aware of, especially the not-specifically-fig perfumes that have fig notes.
Feel better soon!
I like fig as a note, Philosykos is one of my favourites for summer, along with Un Jardin en Mediterranee, but it’s still very early spring here and I wasn’t feeling the summery perfumes yet. I’m wearing Rozy instead.
Snow today in Montreal, eeerghh!
No FB of fig scent, so I’m wearing Jo Malone Wild Cassis & Fig from a sample. I like it. It’s less sharp than a lot of fig (leaf) scents. So far, it’s a contender in the battle for my fig FB purchase!
I’m wearing what is apparently my only scent with fig in it, which is L’Artisan’s Caligna. I’ve only worn it in warm weather before, so it seems odd to be in it when it’s in the 40s and rainy.
I think the fact that Womanity scared me to death, made me avoid ANYTHING fig-related for the last couple of years.I did find 2 fragrances that does have some figgy-ness to them, that I do enjoy:Rochas L’Absolue, and Jardins d’Ecrivains Wilde. Not wearing either of them today, sadly.I was in the mood for a celebuscent-BOMB:Madonna Truth or Dare.Really well-done Gardenia-Tuberose!
Womanity (scent and bottle both) scared me to death, too, but I think it’s an atypical fig scent. I like fig and salty notes but I couldn’t handle this one.
Laila,do you have any Fig-for-beginners recommendations?I love the fruit, especially the Adam’s-fig(that’s what the purple-skinned one is called here). Is Philosykos a good one to start with?
Oh, definitely try the classics, Philosykos and Premier Figuier, they smell like the whole fig and are lovely. Pacifica Mediterranean Fig is also a refreshing, inexpensive everyday kind of fig I enjoy, as well as the SSS Fig Tree, nice and creamy but still smelling like basic ‘fig,’. Have fun exploring!
Thanks!I have some exploring to do then!
I thought I was fig-free until someone pointed out that Dune has a fig-leaf in it.
But I went with LOTV, thinking it was spring, and now of course it is snowing here in lovely Ann Arbor! I have Oriza L Legrand Muguet Fleuri dabbed on from a sample, and then I oversprayed a light topping of Oscar de la Renta’s Live in Love. I smell lovely, if I do say so myself. And I guess I did not over do it, since no one in my cube farm has mentioned it…
Off-topic, but … imagine my surprise to find that I don’t own and have never tried an Olivier Polge fragrance except for Flowerbomb, which I didn’t care for at all. Spicebomb sounds nice from a reading of the notes and a couple of reviews, but in advance of next Friday’s theme I wanted to ask you all what your favorite Olivier Polges are.
Trying to give you an answer, I looked under the Perfumers tab here to see what he had composed, and realized that I didn’t have any Polge perfumes. And not only that but it doesn’t even look like he’s got any on my “to try” list. 🙁
Same here … I wonder what that means …. Oh well, I have lots of other Chanels to choose from for next Friday (now that Robin says I won’t get perfumista demerits for snubbing M. Polge). 🙂
I will probably wear Balenciaga Paris L’Eau Rose, which come to think of it might be a “study” for Chanel Misia. But if you don’t have one, don’t sweat it — wear a Chanel, or skip it altogether.
I may be in Cuir Beluga ALL WEEK – Heaven!
Oops, totally forgot it was Figgy Friday. Am in Narciso Rodrigues Essence at the moment, but I promise faithfully to wear some SSS Fig Tree following my post-zumba shower later this evening. It is the only fig scent I own, and I love it. It is a note I need to explore further. Have a nice weekend everybody.
A friend recently gave me some Essence. It’s interesting. It disappears and then reappears throughout the day. That’s my experience anyway. I like it.
I would have worn Philosokos had I not misplaced my sample. The I remembered a sample of Aftelier Fig. It’s a completely different approach to fig – none of that coconut accord that smells so good at first but quickly becomes tiresome. OTOH, this Fig is decidedly urinous to my nose when I put my nose close to my wrist to smell it well (it’s an extrait that seems to wear close to the skin), especially for the first hour.
I’ve read that people have very different sensitivity to a note that smells like honey to some, urine to others. I think Fig worth a try, but, even if you like it, be very cautious about wearing it in public! 😉
I struggle with Afteliers… have to read the ingredient list carefully. If it’s got ambergris in it, forget it, that’s all I get from it. ick. I really do like some of her non-ambergris scents: Lumiere and Oud Luban.
As I wrote above I am in the same boat…the Afteliers do not agree with my skin chemistry…never thought to read the specific essential oils in the samples I have tried…maybe it is the ambergris for me as well…..
My favorite so far is Tango, which does not list ambergris as a featured note. I like the ambergris ones, too, though.
I’m wearing Ninfeo Mio which I’ve just layered with Un Jardin en Méditerranée. They work well together.
Fig Tea is lovely, never smelled any fig in it though.
I also have never owned a fig fragrance, or even worn one that I know of. So today was a fun chance to branch out. I picked up a sample of Atelier’s Figuier Ardent from Sephora, but I have no frame of reference for it. It seems almost smoky, or with cumin. So now, I get to do some reading around to learn more about what I’m smelling. Fun!
On this figgiest of Fridays, I’m wearing Diptyque Philosykos EDT. I have tried the EDP too, but I think I prefer the EDT for this one. I felt like the EDP lost some of the green crispness that I like so much in the EDT.
Not a fan of green figgy fragrances (although I do really like green florals) and I don’t have anything with a predominant sweeter fig note, so I went with Frapin 1270, which has raisin and, I believe, a candied orange note, so that sort of counts for today’s theme.
Wearing Atelier Cologne’s Figuier Ardent for the second day. I really like the dry, woody aspect of this fig fragrance!
Scent twins! Today is my first try of this, and first try for any fig. I also like it. Dry and woody seems right, though still rich.
Another for the Atelier Figuier Ardent crew reporting in! I didn’t like the first couple minutes of it, ran out of the house to an appointment and realized someone smelled nice. It was *me*. I like the dry down on this. Green, leafy and woods (no coconut to my nose for the haters out there). Not big sillage, though. I had to sniff my arm to realize what the general nice smell was, and now it’s gone, 4-5 hours later, but nice while it lasted. How long did this last for you? I normally get longer wear out of the Ateliers.
I had the same lasting experience with the lasting power of FA, HemlockSillage. It doesn’t seem to be as long lasting as the others in this line. Oh well, as you said…nice while it lasted!
I’ve not really explored a lot of fig fragrances. I see now that a few I like have fig leaf or bits of fig, but not a lot in the FIG department. I was going to wear Ninfeo Mio today, which to this point is my fav fig but I get mostly the ivy, boxwood and musks out of it. However, cold weather plus sinus misery has put me off the challenge. It is not a Ninfeo Mio kind of day. I am wearing the simple and comforting AG Vanille Exquise.
But my father in law, who lives in the wonderful city of Portland OR (NE), has these two giant very mature fig trees in his yard, that as far as I’m concerned and even given the housing market in PDX are worth more than his house. I always tell my husband if anyone ever buys his house and cuts those trees down it will be a crime against nature. I cried a few years when we visited and a TSA agent made me “discard” of two large jars of his own fig preserves, even though they were in the check luggage. It was a tragedy. Give me some fig preserves and some gouda and I’m in heaven.
Ninfeo Mio has been mentioned a lot recently, really making me curious to try it!
It’s really pretty and different. It’s remarkably long lasting for an AG or even a citrus and greens fragrance. She’s using musk in the base. I don’t wear it often, but it really does hit the spot when I do.
AnnS..you are a really bad influence-LOL! I went to beauty encounter to look at the AG testers and discovered an extensive mini selection!!! Quite a few are calling my name 🙂 !!!
😉
Figs and goat cheese are awesome too. And you feel better soon too!
Thanks – I’m just getting that pre-spring sinus blockage that happens to everyone up here when the snow melts. Blah. It kind of puts my nose out like a spinning compass.
SOTD = Bourbon French Bespoke Perfume for hajusuuri
I have my own fig perfume. Bourbon French Bespoke sounds hifalutin’ but it’s really not at ~ $80 / oz. I was in New Orleans last October and had the time and opportunity to do this. I ended up with a perfume with white tea, tuberose, LOTV, vanilla, musk, black cherry, sandalwood, amber tobacco, patchouli, citrus (i.e. everything but the kitchen sink). I jad the 1 oz split into half as is and the other half with fig!
Wow! Love the notes! did they actually make the perfume for you while you waited? There was a mall store called Garden Botanika (which I think has gone out of business) that used to do the same…they had a whole bunch of fragrance/essential oils and they added them to perfumers alcohol for you…although I am sure that your bespoken fragrance is much more upscale 🙂 !!!! I had Sarah Horowitz Thran custom make me a perfume in the 1990s when her company Creative Scentualizations was tiny and no one knew who she was……would probably cost me an arm and a leg now 🙂 !!!
I miss Garden Botanika! They were great – a sort of forerunner to the Bath & Bodyworks kinds of places that are often overrun with tweenagers … but better, and more grown-up. A friend of mine used to have them mix freesia and something hot-peppery into body lotion for her.
Yup. I was a walk-in. The website suggested making an appointment but since I wasn’t sure exactly when I’ll have that one hour window, I decided to take my chances.
How cool was it that you got Sarah Horowitz Tranh to make you a custom perfume before she became famous! My sit-in-the-timeout chair moment came when I accidentally discouraged my sister from continuing to order from someone named Dawn who moved her business from Boston to Boulder, Colorado, which, coincidentally, was where my dad went to college.
Someone else may have posted this previously…about bespoke perfumes:
http://www.nytimes.com/2015/03/14/your-money/designing-personal-perfumes.html
Oh!!That sounds AH-mazing!!Black cherry!Tuberose!Tobacco!!YUM.Enjoy every drop!!xo
Sounds very mad-scientist-like, no?
What a FANTASTIC adventure, and great memory of your trip. Sounds like perfumista heaven. Wear that stuff lots. I’m all about not saving our perfumes for the good/appropriate occasion. I say wear it, enjoy it, revel in it. We have a really ephemeral hobby, for better or worse. Now I want to have a bespoke perfume. Now I’m off to make starter list notes for my fragrance. . .incense, civet, moss, jasmine, magnolia, bergamot. . . 😀
Wowzer…those are some pretty potent notes!
Fig is one of my favorite notes. Fig leaf, fig tree, fig fruit – it’s all good. So much so that I had my choice from these today:
Annick Goutal Ninfeo Mio
Ava Luxe Fig Leaf, Boise de Figue, Figue Noir, Johri
BBW Brown Sugar & Fig
Carthusia IO Capri
CBIHP Revelation
Diptyque Philosykos
Fresh Fig Apricot
Infusion Organique Buddha’s Fig
Hermes Un Jardin Mediterranee
Miller Harris Fig Amere
Pacifica Mediterranean Fig
PdN Fig Tea
PG Jardins de Kerylos
SSS Fig Tree
Tokyo Milk Ex Libris
I went with the Carthusia, but it was a difficult choice!
Wow! Love your list!
I salute you.
Agree, impressive list!
Wow, I love figs and I (separately) love fig fragrances, although not the creamy ones. I had no idea that this note was even considered controversial.
Today I am wearing an old favorite, in a favorite way. I am wearing Womanity, which I like on its own, and like even better layered over a rose. (Today I have layered it over AG Rose Splendide).
I am also fond of Capri.
For those who do not love Womanity, it is probably the saltiness note, rather than the fig note which you dislike. (It did not help that the brand advertised the salty note as “caviar” a food which consists of fish eggs.)
I am always looking for another fig and “Fig tea” has always seemed intriguing but I heard it was very creamy. DIH
It is the saltiness in Womanity that I’m not loving, although I like caviar. Womanity layered with Rose sounds terrifying to me, and no, I don’t know why autocorrect has decided that Rose must always be capitalized, but it will. Not. Stop.
It probably comes as no surprise given my recent infatuation with it that I’m wearing Debaser again today. This little decant isn’t going to make it much longer so I will eventually need to break down and order a bottle.
I’m having a quiet day listening to an audiobook that I apparently purchased in a fit of madness last year. I have no memory of adding it to my cart at all. If I were twelve years old I would love it so I’m doing my best to imagine that I am ;). My husband has a migraine, a rarity for him, so I am lurking around – quietly tidying all the little things I usually try to overlook.
I love fig scents.
I will try just about anything that is called a Fig scent, but I believe that I am looking for a fig tree scent more than anything else. As others have mentioned, the aroma while standing under a warmed fig tree is just so wonderful. I have not yet found that, but I will enjoy the journey….
I am wearing Ninfeo mio on one arm and Blu Mediterraneo Fico di Amalfi on the other.
I smell delicious and both scents make me very happy!!
You DO smell great! 🙂
I don’t have any actual fig perfumes at the moment, so I decided to use Laura Mercier Fresh Fig lotion instead. It’s delicious!
Atelier Cologne Figuier Ardent. I like it.
There’s quite a few of us sporting this one. It was my first day to try it. It’s nice. You smell great.
Thanks. First day for me too. I had just smelled it on paper before.
I like fig as a room spray fragrance, but don’t have any fig perfumes. In honour of Figgy Friday I ate some figs for breakfast, and I do have Pacifica Mediterranean Fig soap.
Gotta count for something!
I recall early in my perfume life deciding that I wasn’t big…on fig….but I have since changed my mind. Fig Tea is lovely. Today I am wearing Un Jardin Sur le Mediterranee which is incidentally a great transition fragrance, and I’ve really enjoyed it today.
Scent twin! Yet another one I don’t wear often enough, and am loving it today. Though I have to admit it isn’t really the fig that does it for me but the cypress is fab.
I really love that one. It’s beautiful on a warm, sunny morning.
Someone just complimented me on how good I smell wearing Womanity.
That’s great! I don’t know about you, but spontaneous street compliments are rare in my world. So you were on fig theme AND got a positive notice. Yea!! Go, Priscilla! I’d be quietly smiling all day after that. Be well.
This is my first participation in the Friday project! I am a fragrance newbie (relatively!) but I actually had two fig scents!! I am wearing Philosykos in solid form (first niche nonsample purchase from my first trip to NYC a few years ago!) and a few drops of LAP Premier Figuier from the sample pack they had on sephora over the holidays. I can’t separate the two now that I have both on, but I just smell fresh vegetal delicious fig!
I’m headed out to the Texas hill country this afternoon and its a gorgeous day that matches the scents perfectly!
Hooray! You smell great, and glad you joined the fun 😀
Thank you! I now have a bunch of other fig perfumes I want to try!
Isn’t it lovely weather?! Wish it didn’t happen to coincide with the attack of the yellow pollen 😡
Luckily I don’t suffer from pollen allergies, but I feel for those who do! I’ve heard Austin described as the worse city for allergies, not sure if true though.
Still recovering from my cold, and the most fragrance I can handle is my Cashmere Mist deoderant, ha. Will have to try the new Aetelier Cologne fig, and many of the others mentioned above!
Happy Friday, All!
The only fig I own is Hermes Jardin en Mediterranee. But me and my bottle are not in the same location at the moment, so didn’t wear it today. I also didn’t realize it was such a love it or hate it thing – personally, I really dislike fig leaf, so can’t do Philosykos, Ninfeo Meo, or even Santal Massoia. There are a couple good recs here and I am very interested in trying the Carthusias.
Very hot day here today, so put on some AA Mentafolia. I own and love Herba Fresca, but this is less fruity and much more “fresh” – slightly masculine clean musk, that is quite persistent. I’ll stick with my Herba Fresca for my minty fix.
I completely forgot Jardin en Mediterranee! It is a great fig scent, and I have a small 15mL bottle. I agree that fig is love it or hate it. I remember on the fruity friday challenge, I didn’t consider my fig scents as fruity–they are more green/herbal to my nose? Yes, there is fruit, but not the fruity I’d imagined. I like fig leaf, and fig fruit, and after reading this, I think I need to have a week of getting back in touch with my fig scents.
You can stick with mint in the heat! Sometimes, there are notes I cannot bear when it is really hot, and also notes that make it a little more bearable. If Mentafolia helps, great. I’m not familiar with that one. I like Herba Fresca lots, and keep thinking I need a FB. That stuff is so refreshing. Stay cool.
I love Herba Fresca in the warm weather. Herba Fresca, sunshine and a mojito would make me very happy right now!
I’m not really into fig-scents, so does Iris oriental count? (I think it does have something figgish lurking in the background)
I’m so late to this party, geez!
Day slipped right by me.
Anyway, no fig for me even though I do love it.
Parfums di Nicolaï Fig Tea is one of my favorites, as it Philosykos edt.
Today I’m wearing for the first time Dzing!
What a fun and interesting scent! I’m a hug cotton candy fan, so this really makes me smile. I like it and having read many reviews it’s got many detractors.
I had a grand plan to wear Womanity, but the travel set I wanted to purchase was out of stock. So I’m wearing Miller Harris Figue Amere instead and enjoying it a lot. If I could now eat some figs, too…
My favorite fig scent is the one I get when I open a fresh package of Fig Newmans cookies. Love those things so much, I can’t keep them around for fear of eating the whole box.
So instead I ate a dried fig from Portugal. It was delicious and smelled nice, too. Last summer a dear friend traveled to Altura to her childhood home. Her father tends a large fig tree, and each summer he dries them for his family. My friend knows I love figs, and she was kind enough to share with me. I’ve been rationing them for almost a year now which has been almost as hard as rationing a discontinued fragrance.
In any case, it’s late, and I’m too tired to figure out (ha!) if any of my fragrances are figgy. Happy weekend!
It’s been a SSS Fig Tree day all the way for me; it was my first “figgy” fragrance and still my favorite (and only full bottle)!
If only I had the bottle of Hermes Parfumee Au The Rouge that’s been languishing in the nether regions of my “to buy” list, I’d be set for today AND next Friday. Instead I went with:
SOTM Oriza L. Legrand Deja le Printemps, with my thanks to Mals, who noted in a post this week that it has a fig leaf note. It is so light and fleeting on me that I think I must be mostly anosmic to it, but it’s a pretty, soft green while it lasts. Since it was 90F here today and I had to spend part of the day in a warehouse (I know, those of you who have yet more snow are playing the world’s smallest violin for me), I needed something light and inoffensive, which would not describe my SOTE: Thierry Mugler Womanity Taste of Fragrance. The salty note is not quite as pronounced as it is in the original Womanity, and it’s sweeter overall. It’s easier to wear, but I’m still struggling with it a bit. The Au The Rouge and Un Jardin Mediterranee are my favorite fig fragrances so far, but I have yet to try either Philosykos or L’A Premier Figuier.
I went for a whole figgy week, except I forgot on Monday and wore L’Artisan L’Ete en Douce. But Tuesday was Ava Luxe Figue Noire, Wed was Miller Harris Figue Amere, Thurs was Philosykos and yesterday I wore Annick Goutal Ninfeo Mio. I’ve also been wearing perfumes by women all month except for the Friday I wore L’Ombre Dans L’Eau. Fig week has been great and perfect for the weather we’ve been having in Seattle.
