Nest Fragrances Verde ~ new perfume

Posted by Robin on 18 March 2015 8 Comments

Nest Fragrances Verde

Laura Slatkin's Nest Fragrances brand has launched Verde, a new fragrance for women.

Nest’s Verde Eau de Parfum Spray is based on a blend of wild fern and Himalayan cedar in an invigorating balance with verbena leaves and vetiver. A member of the fougère family of fragrances, it marries herbaceous wild fern and verbena leaves with musky Himalayan cedar notes for a crisp, light finish. It exudes the heart of every woman—whether she is romantic, sexy, elegant, or exotic—allowing her to express a mood in a way that is unique to her.

Verde was developed by perfumer Jérôme Epinette.

Nest Fragrances Verde is available now at Sephora, in 50 ml Eau de Parfum ($68) or 8.5 ml rollerball ($25).

I like their bottle designs much more than their fumes.

Very interested to smell this in light of the green-ness of their Passiflora. I wonder if the verbena leaf is Verbena-verbena or Aloysia citrodora?

That’s assuming it has any natural verbena at all, which of course it may well not :-)

Sniffed it half a dozen times today, and it’s true verbena I think, and not the resin-y lemon one. There’s some citrus-y vetiver and a sweet musk and it ends up smelling mannequin-y (sort of like the way Dune was described — disembodied plastic limbs or some such — although I never actually experienced that sensation myself). Not as grassy or crisp or enjoyably off-putting as Passiflora. I was hoping Nest was going to get weird and stay weird.

Are the bottles as beautiful IRL?

As long as you belong to one of the four age-old categories of womanhood; Romantic, Sexy, Elegant or Exotic; this light feminine fougère will fit you to a T.
I do love the bottle though and I wonder if the rollerball is pretty too!
