Posted by Robin on 28 November 2014 6 Comments

Ralph Lauren Polo Supreme Oud

Ralph Lauren will launch Polo Supreme Oud in 2015. The new woody oriental fragrance is the brand's first Eau de Parfum for men.

Polo Supreme Oud was developed by perfumer Carlos Benaïm, and features notes of cinnamon, pink pepper, smoky Indian oud accord, guaiac wood and vetiver.

Ralph Lauren Polo Supreme Oud will be available in 125 ml Eau de Parfum.

I assume, probably incorrectly, that by calling it a “smoky Indian oud accord”, they are indirectly admitting that it’s that mostly-synthetic oud that everyone in the universe is using, not the real article, and assuming that nobody will notice or care.

Ha! Or, it has a drop of real oud in the accord. I think that’s also common.

Maybe it won’t be too bad? Lol. I do like me some gaiac, I will sniff it when/if available.

And I would guess anyone who buys Polo probably wouldn’t care if synth oud or not, idk though. I don’t like oud much but eh, this seems worth a sniff…I guess. After Polo Red, not sure, lol.

He wasn’t the perfumer for Polo Red, he was for original Polo and Polo Reserve which are acclaimed to be the best from the line. So, maybe there’s hope with this one. I did like Polo back in the day-a lot-idk what they did to it, I just mostly get dirty, musty patchouli..not sure if it was always like that? It smells bad now. I haven’t sniffed the Reserve but want to.
