Helmut Lang Eau de Parfum, Eau de Cologne & Cuiron ~ reissues

Posted by Robin on 10 October 2014 18 Comments

Helmut Lang Eau de Parfum, Helmet Lang Eau de Cologne and Cuiron

Three fragrances from the Helmut Lang line will be reissued this month: Helmut Lang Eau de Parfum, Helmut Lang Eau de Cologne and Cuiron.

Helmut Lang Eau de Parfum ~ "Sensual and ephemeral. Powder gives way to a deep, musky soul. Floral top notes of lavender, rosemary and orange tree clarify and brighten. Sandalwood, cedarwood, amber and patchouli soften and mellow. Moody, confident, transitory." $185.

Helmut Lang Eau de Cologne ~ "A clean, bright opening. Rosemary and orange tree yield to a caramelized, musky heart of cedarwood, vanilla, sandalwood and patchouli. The calm of the morning after. Complex, intriguing, familiar."  $185.

Cuiron ~ "Classic and fresh. The minimalist nuance of fine, worn-in leather. Bergamot, mandarin, pink peppercorn and cassia oil deliver crispness and transparency. Rich woods, ancient resins and suede notes ground and equalize. Energetic and sensual on the skin." $165.

Helmut Lang Eau de Parfum, Helmut Lang Eau de Cologne and Cuiron are  available at the Helmut Lang website or at  Luckyscent, in 100 ml.

Uh oh. I don’t know anything about the originals, really, but I’ve heard good things, and I’m so curious to try Cuiron. Hopefully they’re good!

I used to hear reports about how great these were, but haven’t heard them mentioned in years. Let’s hope!

Oh, that’s so exciting! I quite like the packaging, and I’m a fan of the clothing line–was assuming it was too much to hope they’d have juice to match!

…oh wow, I’d also note that right now if you go to the Helmut Lang website, at least in the U.S. you get a pop-up window offering 20% off your next online purchase if you sign up for their newsletter–perhaps including the fragrances??

I’ve Made mention of the Men’s version like about a half dozen times now… guess no one noticed… :-( I LOVE the men’s version it’s a Remarkable scent that I have grown to love even more with age… But yeah, have talked about it a bit here… Oh well…

OMG! I wanted to try these so bad, but I was unable to get them when they were first released.

By the time I started my yearly US trips in ’07 they were on the way out or already discontinued.

Waddaya say Robin? after the Yoshi Yamamoto reissues and now this, it seems that there is hope for life after death for good fragrances! :-)

Now if they just bring back the Theoremas…. ;-)

Robin, today’s your lucky day. Just back from my vacation in France and I snatched up a bottle for you in a tiny perfume shop there. The store actually had two 1.7 ounce bottles so I did what any reasonable person would do and bought them both. I thought I’d recalled you lamenting how much you enjoy this one and about it being discontinued so…. :) I have already have your address and will put it in the mail to you on Saturday! Consider it a not-so-random act of kindness.

Holy cow. I am speechless. Thank you! And gosh, where were you — what town was this where people allowed two bottles of Theorema to go unsold?!?

Will be interesting to know how much these have been re formulated. The originals were wonderful. I hope these are too.

10 years ago, when they were sold at Sephora for 60$, I thought they smelled like cheap aftershave. So not very excited about them…

I never got to smell the originals, so I can’t compare, but they are worth seeking out. I just smelled them today and the EdP and Cuiron are my favorites. The EdP is like a jasmine-laced sweet, powdery musk and the Cuiron is a very fresh leather that becomes more ambery over time. I was impressed, but for $165-185, I kind of wanted more oomph!

Directly on the Helmut Lang site, there’s an offer for 20% off when you sign up for their emails. Just ordered a bottle of the EDP. Offer good until 10/31.
