4711 Acqua Colonia Plum & Honey, Hazel & Tonka ~ new fragrances

Posted by Robin on 25 August 2014 6 Comments

4711 Acqua Colonia Plum & Honey, Hazel & Tonka

Mäurer & Wirtz has launched Plum & Honey and Hazel & Tonka, two new seasonal limited editions in the 4711 Acqua Colonia range.

Plum & Honey ~ Styled as "cocooning" and inspired by a relaxing walk in nature and the anticipation of a hot drink with honey.

Hazel & Tonka ~ Styled as "comforting" and inspired by a cozy spot by the fireplace with ice crystals on the windows, with hazelnut and tonka bean.

4711 Acqua Colonia Plum & Honey and Hazel & Tonka are available in 50 ml Eau de Cologne, and can be found now at Douglas in Germany.

One the one hand it sounds a bit like a travesty for such a classic cologne (or even THE cologne), but on the other they might quite nice, especially if not terribly expensive.

I’ve heard this line is nice, and they do come in some reasonably priced rollerballs (the older ones do, anyway). But don’t think they’re anywhere in the US.

Gosh, all I can think about now is how much I loved going to the Parfumerie Douglas shops when I was a student and spending time in Cologne Germany. Ah. My German was horrible b/c I’d been in Greece for heaven’s sake! And then went to stay with my then boyfriend in Cologne. So all I could do was wander around the Hohenstrasse (sp?) and just enjoy all the luxe and not so luxe products. I have a soft spot for drugeries in *any* foreign country! Maybe these special 4711 are awful and maybe they are not, but I’d sure like to go all the way over there to find out!

Do these ever show up in North America?

Much to my surprise, I am going to be in Berlin early next year, and I am going to have to hunt down the Hazel & Tonka, because those are two smells I adore.

      I don’t think so…
