Imaginary Authors Yesterday Haze ~ new fragrance

Posted by Robin on 6 August 2014 11 Comments

Imaginary Authors Yesterday Haze

Indie brand Imaginary Authors has launched Yesterday Haze, a new unisex fragrance. Like the others in the line, it was inspired by an imaginary book by an imaginary author.

Yesterday Haze, the subtly sinister follow-up to Lenora Blumberg’s acclaimed debut -Violet Disguise,- tells the story of a farmer’s wife who, after maintaining a decades-long affair with a crop duster pilot, decides to come clean to her husband, who also happens to be her lover’s employer. “Just as sunsets are more beautiful on hazy days,” Blumberg wrote, “so, too, are the memories of yesterday.” Set in California’s tranquil and dusty San Joaquin Valley, the elaborate tale unfolds like a dream, delicately shifting perceptions like the colors of a dimming dusk.

The seductive, dreamlike quality of this scent works like a magnet. Use it liberally during the day and, as it lingers into night, watch as those around you are lured into your sphere.

The notes include fig, iris, cream, tonka bean, tree bark, walnut bitters and orchard dust.

Imaginary Authors Yesterday Haze is available in 60 ml Eau de Parfum, $85, and can be purchased now at Twisted Lily.

I usually don’t like the taste of figs, but I visited a friend this weekend, and she grows a variety (can’t remember the name) that has berry overtones, and I tried one, and it was pretty good. It also stained my fingertips a nice shade of purple, which was cool!

That sounds decadent! My friend’s husband is a great cook, so perhaps he’ll make it for her, and they can have me over for dinner 🙂

A Sequel to an imaginary book?!? Will sample the next time I’m in twistedLily since I picked up a sample of Violet Disguise last time I was there

    You had me at FIG!

I ordered this along with Mosaic & L’Orchidee Terrible . Looking forward to trying these samples as this line gets lots of praise on FB.

Ooh, this sounds really good. Memoirs of a Trespasser is wonderful, I’ve gone through half a bottle in a year which is a lot for me! I haven’t tried any other Imaginary Authors that I like quite as much although Soft Lawn prompted me to acquire a decant. Yesterday Haze is a great title and I love fig, so this has to be sampled for sure.
