L’Occitane Mer & Mistral ~ new fragrance

Posted by Robin on 23 April 2014 6 Comments

L’Occitane Mer & Mistral

L’Occitane will launch Mer & Mistral, a new unisex addition to the brand's La Collection de Grasse fragrance series (the last was Néroli & Orchidée). Mer & Mistral was developed by L'Occitane house perfumer Karine Dubreuil.

An aquatic, bracing fragrance that opens with notes of citrus fruits before giving way to the powerful blend of cypress, rosemary and pine, swept in from the open sea.

Additional notes for the aromatic aquatic include lemon, mandarin, cedar, white amber and musk.

L’Occitane Mer & Mistral will be available in 75 ml Eau de Toilette and in matching bath & body products. Look for it in May.

Yes, the water is worrisome, and so is the wind!

This is just stupid. Here’s how they have billed this collection: “The ampersand (&), a symbol of unification, represents the union of the precious ingredients from land near and far.” Water & Wind? The water will be from near and the wind from far I suppose. At least they won’t be able to pretend these are natural as they normally do.

In other news, l’Occitane will reboot their rose line as Roses et Reines but thankfully not as Roses & Reines. I’m sure they considered it though.

Ha, did not realize the ampersand had so much meaning :-)

I saw the Roses et Reines today on Nordstrom, did not even realize it was new!

Citrus, cyprus and pine sound promising! (I’m blocking out wind and sea cues…)

I have a feeling they will not be so easy to block out in real life, but we’ll see!
