A few fragrances in new concentrations 2014, part 1

Posted by Robin on 23 April 2014 2 Comments

Three perfumes now available in new concentrations: Diesel Loverdose Tattoo Eau de Toilette, La Perla In Rosa Eau de Parfum and Boucheron Place Vendôme Eau de Toilette.

Diesel Loverdose Tattoo Eau de Toilette

From Diesel, Loverdose Tattoo in a new Eau de Toilette concentration. The original black Eau de Parfum (2013) bottle is now done in a shimmery-nude with black edges. By perfumers Anne Flipo and Pascal Gaurin, with tea accord, cassis, lemon,  magnolia, rice and tonka bean. It is available in 50 and 75 ml. (via news.yahoo)

La Perla In Rosa Eau de Parfum

From La Perla, In Rosa (2012) in a new Eau de Parfum concentration. With pink pepper, mandarin, red currant, rose, orris, orange blossom, patchouli, pink praline and vanilla. In 30, 50 and 80 ml. (via perfumeholding)

Boucheron Place Vendôme Eau de Toilette

From Boucheron, Place Vendôme in Eau de Toilette. It launched last year but is only recently being distributed worldwide: "The new ephemeral jewel. A new Opus for a new Light. A Woody Citrus Floral evoking sparkling luminosity and refined transparency creating an enveloping sensual trail. The bottle is a tribute to the House’s craftsmen. The light brings out the glasswork. All in roudness [sic] and volumes, it’s like a talisman in the hand. The Cabochon, emblematic stone of the House, signs the bottle. With its facets, the bottle and packaging remind the pavement of the Place Vendôme." With yuzu, osmanthus, rose, jasmine, cedar and white musk. In 30, 50 and 100 ml. (via us.boucheron, nicematin)

It is an interesting index on how out of touch I must be with how most people buy perfume, because I am totally confused by the idea that anyone would need an even milder-mannered version of the Place Vendome. But I suppose 1, what I think is light =/= what other think, and 2, maybe people are psyched to have the bottles as a pair?

But also, they are rarely just lighter or heavier…they’re usually pretty different. On the Place Vendome, for instance, the EdP is a floriental, the EdT is a woody citrus floral — would guess it’s “pinker” in more than just color. Sometimes it’s clear they are gearing at a completely different market (often Asia) or age range.
