Crabtree & Evelyn Pear & Pink Magnolia, Caribbean Island Wild Flowers ~ new fragrances

Posted by Robin on 29 January 2014 5 Comments

Caribbean Island Wild Flowers

Crabtree & Evelyn will launch two new fragrance collections for women. Pear and Pink Magnolia debuts in March, Caribbean Island Wild Flowers in April. Recent fragrances from the brand include Verbena and Lavender de Provence and the Heritage Collection.

Pear and Pink Magnolia ~ A fruity floral. "This playfully elegant fragrance creates the aromatic impression of one of the most alluring pear varieties and the stunning pink magnolia. Let the scent of juicy fruits and delicate flowers linger beautifully on the skin. The red pear scent, when combined with passion fruit and bergamot notes, becomes deeply addictive. In a harmony of precious notes, jasmine, osmanthus and orris bring to mind cherished riches of the natural world" In 30 and 100 ml Eau de Toilette and matching bath and body products.

Caribbean Island Wild Flowers ~ "Inspired by a tranquil Caribbean island, this collection brings the scent of casuarina leaves, palm fronds, orange blossoms and salty air together in perfect harmony. The delicate spider lily is the star fragrance of the collection. It is softly blended with island wild flowers, tropical citrus fruits, night blooming jasmine and a marine accord."

Crabtree & Evelyn Pear & Pink Magnolia and Caribbean Island Wild Flowers will be available in 30 and 100 ml Eau de Toilette and matching bath and body products.

It sounds like the Caribbean Island Wild Flowers is a reissuance/reformulation of the West Indies Spider Lily? Do you know if that’s right?

It sounds virtually identical…looks like they’re trying to keep the fragrance but not have to pay for the India Hicks name. But probably they’ve reformulated it (?)

Has anyone smelled the original Spider Lily? I’ve always been intrigued by that name! (And I have no idea what spider lilies smell like.)

I thought it was fine, but didn’t interest me enough to review it. The florals in the new Heritage collection are fine too 🙂

It is a great choice for the summer: A lot of white flowers and fruits and something tropical, but not so cheap and sticky as (for example) the limited edition Escada scents. Some people complain that it does not last long enough. But it is fine with me because I get a headache if neroli is too persistent like in Nerolia Bianca by Guerlain.
Hope I get the chance to try the new spider lily-formula! Owning the India Hicks version for ten days now I am still not able to tell you what this particular flower smells like…
