Imaginary Authors Cape Heartache ~ new fragrance

Posted by Robin on 18 November 2013 10 Comments

Imaginary Authors Cape Heartache

Indie line Imaginary Authors has launched Cape Heartache, the brand's 8th fragrance. Like the others, it was inspired by an imaginary book by an imaginary author.

Cape Heartache, the anticipated new release from Imaginary Authors, covers new territory for the line in the form of a deep, woodsy Pacific Northwest scent that captures the melancholy of lost love. A surprising interlude of strawberry hides among the cedar trees like memories that become sweeter only when you know they are lost forever.

The notes include douglas fir, pine resin, western hemlock, vanilla, strawberry, old growth and mountain fog.

Imaginary Authors Cape Heartache is available in 60 ml Eau de Parfum, $85, and can be purchased now at Eden.

old growth – sounds nasty. Fog – sounds suitably melancholy. I like the idea of this line but maybe not this one….. I wish more fragrances were inspired by real books but the authors, not so much.

I like the idea too. “Old growth” for some reason sounds earthy to me, which I like, but who knows what they mean 🙂

This is the second fragrance recently listing fog as a note. Hmm… has the IFRA approved it?!? 😉

Ha! And now I will have to think of the other fragrance before this becomes the next trend…

Ah, I see we have “mountain fog” here and sea fog in the Hermes. I suppose that’s like Mexican vanilla vs. Madagascar vanilla or the different types of oud. Twicksy perfumers. 🙂

What?!? You can’t remember all 4,672 scents released so far this year???

Seriously!! But also true that the only reason I can remember what I had for breakfast is that I have the same breakfast every day 🙂

Like a computer, our hard drive gets more full the older we get. 😉
