Bath & Body Works Forever Midnight ~ new fragrance

Posted by Robin on 4 November 2013 11 Comments

Bath & Body Works Forever Midnight

Bath & Body Works has launched Forever Midnight, a new perfume for women.

Midnight: the hour of undeniable chemistry. A spark of sensual Plum Nectar ignites the thrilling heart of Midnight Jasmine and Vanilla Orchid, velvety florals that bloom sexiest after dark with a hint of seductive spice. The final rush of intoxicating Caramel Liqueur creates the ultimate collision of fragrance and passion.

Bath & Body Works Forever Midnight is available in in 75 ml Eau de Parfum, 88 or 236 ml Fragrance Mist and in matching body products.

I think this is sort of a flanker to last year’s Forever Red? At least both are being promoted as “more luxurious” than the standard signature line.

I was at BBW yesterday using some coupons for candles and a body wash and I sniffed it briefly… I actually did think Forever Red smelled nicer than the main line, but I’m not so sure about Forever Midnight. At any rate, both are very much mainstream fruity floral things.

Clearly they’re trying to differentiate between different “levels” — like prestige vs mass, sort of. I would call it the 2nd in a series rather than a flanker, but hey, it’s sort of splitting hairs, right?

Ugh, went to BBW cause I had a coupon for a freebie. I think I sniffed this one, quickly and didn’t think much of it..nor any other stuff they have got in there. I do really like that Japanese Cherry Blossom though. The only one that’s pretty much a love and get compliments when I wear it. I walked out with a Coconut Lime Breeze lotion as my freebie..cause, I was kinda craving coconut. Their Vermont Maple Apple and Pumpkin, Amber Blush and winter items left me really just with a ‘meh’ face with my tongue stickin out.

Coconut Lime Breeze…sounds like they’ve redone Coconut Lime Verbena then.

Lol, I guess so, Idk, haven’t heard of the verbena version…maybe it was in there…I don’t know, I do remember seeing a verbena something. I did like the smell of their espresso or coffee candle. Yummy.

Yes, they reformulated and renamed Coconut Lime Verbena to Coconut Lime Breeze, and in the process cut down much of the greenness. It’s a bummer.

I at least respect that they changed the name when they reformulated.

Thanks. You’re right, better to change the name. They had reformulated it at least once (to make it fresher) under the old name already.

It has become increasingly hard to pass by a BBW store without trying to run from the candy sugar, sickeningly sweet smell that wafts throughout the store, into the hallways of shopping malls, straight towards my nostrils. This means I won’t be able to smell this new perfume…

LOL…in my mall, BBW, Lush and Victoria’s Secret are all right next to each other. It’s like a wall of smell.

Heh, in my mall there’s a Lush right across from BBW, which is right beside La Senza (a Canadian Victoria’s Secret-style chain store). I wonder if it’s all part of some master plan…

I get a kick out of BBW’s winter-themed candles and scents. Although they’re almost all too sweet for my taste, now’s the time of year to indulge in a little sweet, right? They did one called “Fireside” that I quite enjoyed, and it was much more dry and austere than their usual offerings.

I know, right? And at my Macy’s store with that Le Vie Est Belle and other candied fluffs. Idk, perfume sections don’t smell sophisticated anymore to me like they used to…it’s more like Hello Kitty now. Ya know?
