Giorgio Armani has launched Myrrhe Impériale, the latest addition to the Armani Privé La Collection des Mille et une Nuits series — see Ambre Orient, Rose d’Arabie, Oud Royal and Cuir Noir.
Giorgio Armani's Myrrhe Impériale is a captivating, incense-like fragrance that evokes the atmosphere of oriental palaces. Myrrh and benzoin, two precious and natural ingredients, envelop the skin in distinctive notes. Myrrh is known for its musky, warm and smoky notes, whilst benzoin releases the scent of an incredibly balanced and smooth accord of milky vanilla.
Additional notes include pink pepper, saffron and ambery woods.
Armani Privé Mille et une Nuits Myrrhe Impériale is available in 100 ml Eau de Parfum, £190, at Harvey Nichols in the UK.

This has many of my favorite notes and keywords (incense-like, smoky, etc). If it smells like what I imagining (and it likely doesn’t), then I give it 5 stars!
It sounds really nice…admit I have mostly ignored these, but would like to try this one.
If pink pepper is used in this the way it has been in fragrances in the past, those more expensive ingredients are wasted. Pink pepper conquers all but the most base of base notes, and even then patchouli has to put up a good fight. :/
We’ll have to hope it’s subtle.
Noooo why the spicy saffron and pink pepper? They are so overused and abused!! (Also because my skin cannot handle such spices without murdering the other notes D:)
I demand a rich, smooth and luxurious milky scent!!!
Saffron is not among the top used notes in perfume.
I don’t like rose, tuberose, or jasmine. I don’t demand that perfumers not use them just because I don’t like them.
Pink pepper truly is overused, IMHO. Saffron, maybe less so, although there is more saffron to be found in this series IIRC.
Agree I love saffron.
Looks good to me.
It goes on my must-sniff list, but I agree with the pink pepper detractors. I hope they used it with a light touch!
I’m a fan of musk, smoke and myrrh-I bet this one is very nice! But the price, whoa! I could be very happy with a decant. That’s a bit spends for me!
Can someone describe the smell of pink pepper as it is used in perfume? I tried Google, but I’m not getting much.
See if this helps:

Thanks!
I love sticking my nose in the jar of pink pepper berries – the scent brings tears to my eyes but it is pure bliss – I have yet to experience this in a fragrance. I know perfumistas have come to detest this ubiquitous note – but no one does it right IMHO!
Sounds nice, Looove incense, whether it is that distinctive to be FBW – that’s another thing.
Robin, I was at my local Armani dealer today 😉 and noticed Anbre Orient was missing. The SA informed me that it was discontinued to make room for MI. Have you any more info? Is this just a misinformed SA maybe? (I do like this range bar the prices, and own Ambre Orient. Lasts for days and days…so I was wondering if the IFRA may have had a hand in it maybe?)
Really sorry but I have no idea…but it wouldn’t surprise me at all if they didn’t want the collection to get too big. Tom Ford does something similar with the Private Blend scents.
