Juliette Has A Gun Oil Fiction ~ new fragrance

Posted by Robin on 14 June 2013 31 Comments

Juliette Has A Gun Oil Fiction

French niche line Juliette Has A Gun has launched Oil Fiction, a new fragrance:

New bottle, new logo, a lacquered wooden box… This limited edition plays with the luminescence and the generosity of oriental notes. Its opulence flows like a promise thrust into the counter-current. Wild nature exposing itself with sophistication and grace, all while seducing you. Oil Fiction tells a voluptuous story leaving behind a refined, suave and animal trail.

Notes include bergamot, amber, ylang ylang, patchouli, iris, tuberose, labdanum, papyrus, saffron, ambroxan, vanilla and sandalwood.

Juliette Has A Gun Oil Fiction is a limited edition; 999 bottles were produced. It is available now for pre-order at the Juliette Has A Gun website (samples also sold), €280. I will update with the size and concentration when I can.

(via juliettehasagun)

Update: Juliette Has A Gun Oil Fiction is available in 75 ml, 28% concentration.

The presentation is beautiful and the perfume sounds interesting as well. I checked out the site (you got me curious on “samples also sold”) and those samples are actually 15ml :) I think I will spring for one

Thanks for the heads-up, Lucas! I just got one too!

This is one of the few launches that inspired instant lust. Can’t wait to smell it.

How great daisy! I’m starting to wonder if our orders are pre-orders and will arrive after July 15 when the fragrance is officialy launched or earlier.

I didn’t try to resist at all, I just bought it. 15 ml is a lot, will definitely last for a while plus the price is super affordable.

I agree lucasai…the presentation is beautiful. Never tried a scent from this house…this may be the one to get me to try.

Same here. I haven’t tried a Juliette Has a Gun scent yet. This will be the first one for me.

You definitely ought to try Vengeance Extreme, which is a snarlingly masculine version of the vanilla-rose-patchouli Lady Vengeance. Very simple, very potent. Luckyscent has samples.

I did like their old packaging too though. This new design reminds me too much of By Kilian.

It’s a very masculine shape compared to their normal range. I have to admit that I’v liked Citizen Queen for a long time and its silver bottle really COULD one day push me over the edge!

Robin, the bottle is 75 mls. The website says it once you put it in your basket.

No problem! BTW. Could you just shot me an empty email. I’m having a new phone for a few days and when it synchronized with my email account I lost all the contacts.

I agree and I may order a sample. I am a little concerned about: “Its opulence flows like a promise thrust into the counter-current. Wild nature exposing itself with sophistication and grace, all while seducing you.”

I’m trying to remember how long it took the last JHAG scent to get to the US, but can’t. It officially launches at Printemps Haussmann today, so maybe in a couple months?

I saw the golden plate and the script on it. Had I not read the title I would’ve sworn its a new Kilian.
It sounds interesting though. I think they do the “wild and animalistics” quite well.

According to their official website, Oil Fiction has a high concentration of 28%. Samples at 15ml but the bottle I am not sure. :/

As I am a big Kurkdjian fan, I own several Juliette scents
like Lady Vengeance and Citizen Queen; as well as Midnight
Oud and Calamity Jane even though I don’t know if they
    are Kurkdjian’s.

Does anybody know if this latest creation is one of his, too?

I liked, as in past tense LADY V AND CITIZEN Q, but when I spray them now I smell nothing. When I wear perfume I want to smell it on myself. I’ve become incapable of smelling the frag that is on me. Everyone comments. I spray the wrists, the neck, my hair, behind ears, and behind knees if in a dress, that’s all I wear in summer. This is a tragedy. Luckily I got my Amouage Opus IV today. It’s my new signature scent. I couldn’t love it more.

It seems they lost the rose connection at some point?

Grrrr I don’t really like the house in part b/c they overuse ambroxan. This is named Oil Fiction and ambroxan is kind of an “oil fiction” since it doesn’t smell at all like the ambergris it’s often claimed to emulate. I just can’t imagine this is any good and, at this price, if it isn’t then the name Oil Fiction becomes even more appropriate. I hope it’s good but these types of projects make me cynical.

And, WTH @ “its opulence flows like a promise thrust into the counter-current.”
