I am not a mother, but would nearly be willing to have a child just to get the new Goutal coffret, it looks so lovely.

Of course, you would also end up with the smell of baby shampoo (ever notice that Johnson’s smells like a shampoo version of Channel NO. 5?), diapers, birthday cake, crayons, etc.,before such child could puchase said confret.

LOL…SO SO true. Would be cheaper & easier to buy it yourself.

Holland has Zwitsal for babycare. I remember when I did my internship in pediatrics I got sick of that smell, as it was everywhere.
I am far too old to have children, but that coffret is so gorgeous. I will never buy it, as I don’t need that much Eau de Cologne.

They’re really wonderful, nice and spicy and the scent lasts through the whole bar. Great for a guest bathroom.

I have not bought them lately, but they used to be VERY heavily scented…really lovely soaps, & long-lasting. Great for scenting dresser drawers too.

Should have been clear — have not bought the carnation in ages. Have a bar of the Osmanthus now, & it is also very heavily scented.

Is R&G osmathus range nice? I recently noticed that it’s now sold at M&S here and their osmathus body oil caught my eye but I couldn’t see any testers.

We like the soap and the packaging is pretty. Just FYI, the smaller EDT sprays are about £15. I don’t reach for the osmanthus as often as I thought I would ( it doesn’t last too well on me) but the soap is good… though not as great as the much-lamented sandalwood and vetiver versions that have been discontinued under L’Oreal ownership. The brand manager needs shooting!

Not sure if I would love the liquid, which I’ve never tried, but I do like the soap — but it’s not my favorite R&G soap ever. Someone gave me a bar as a gift.

Any suggestions for Gardenia soaps? I Magnin’s used to make THE LOVELIEST blue gardenia soap….sniff. Wanted to find something similar for my mum.

Sorry I don’t know one! I wonder if Pacifica has a decent one.

I love R&G carnation soap –very carnation-y! I haven’t had it in years — I don’t know if they sell it in the US any longer?

I’d buy that Annick Goutal set if the bottles were, say, 15 ml each. Why does a “discovery set” include 150 mls of perfume!? That just doesn’t make sense.

Have to agree…really wish they were smaller bottles.

I was going to post the same thing. That set would be a lot more “discovery” (and a lot more tempting) if it were at least half the size and half the price.

Oooo, ShopLondons is in the states, so no international shipping charges. In addition to my beloved R&G carnation soap, they have Crabtree and Evelyn’s West Indian Lime fragrance, which my mom loves. Cool!

A couple of nice options here, but I already ordered my mom’s gift a few days ago. The last time I sent her a goody pkg. of perfume decants, Evening Edged In Gold was among them and she loved it and requested it for the next gift giving occasion – and she knows she *always* get perfume for Mother’s Day. :-) I know she’ll love the pretty bottle too – she has no idea what they look like, so at least that part will be a surprise for her.
