Viktoria Minya Hedonist ~ new perfume

Posted by Robin on 29 March 2013 11 Comments

Viktoria Minya Hedonist

Indie perfumer Viktoria Minya has launched her debut fragrance, Hedonist:

Hedonist, the first fragrance in the Viktoria Minya line, calls upon the spirit of hedonism - the art of devotion to the pleasure of the senses. Indeed, this bold creation's aim is to provide a prolonged sense of indulgence to its wearer. The perfume is not only an enchanting olfactory experience, but an overall celebration of the infinite delight of the senses. To delight the sense of sight, this unique and heady scent is artfully presented within a beautifully crafted bottle filled with hundreds of genuine bohemian crystals that sparkle brilliantly, suspended within a divine golden liquid. To delight the sense of touch, the bottle itself is enclosed within a handmade wooden box fashioned to capture the sleek look and feel of snakeskin leather.

Designed for the woman who dares to be true to her desires, Hedonist is a richly provocative fragrance that combines the sweetness of love with the power of lust. Lush floral notes of jasmine and orange blossom absolute flirt with the dark intensity of rum absolute and the subtle spiciness of the world's finest woods for a scent that is as captivating as it is unforgettable.

The notes feature rum, bergamot, peach, jasmine, orange blossom, osmanthus, vetiver, cedar, vanilla and tobacco.

Viktoria Minya Hedonist is €130 for 45 ml Eau de Parfum, and can be purchased at the brand website.

I wonder if the quantity of juice is measured before or after the “hundreds of bohemian crystals” were used to fill up the bottom of the bottle.

Bohemian crystals sounds like another name for Czech beads or rhinestones, a less costly form of crystal than the brand name swarovski. They can be quite beautiful, but hardly as costly as the amount of perfume they would displace in a bottle.

Im sure it is a 60 or 75ml bottle filled with 45ml of perfume.

Filling a bottle with other stuff besides perfume seems to be a trend these days. Case in point, the formerly 50 mL bottles of Slumberhouse perfume are now 30 mLs…with the “missing” perfume displaced by clear glass beads.

Per Ms. Minya, there is 45 ml of perfume + genuine Czech crystals in a 60 ml bottle.

The notes sound tempting and the bottle is attractive, I admit if the opportunity to sample arose, I definitely would. However, it seems oddly positioned in the market. I tend to think of indie perfumers as starting slow and growing gradually as their name spreads. This would have to be very carefully marketed in order to have a chance to succeed given its’ price.

This sounds very intriguing. Do you know where I can find it in the UK?
    Thanks!

I think you would have to have it shipped from her website.
