French niche line Jovoy Paris has launched Les Jeux sont Faits, a new leather fragrance for men inspired by the tough guys of 1960s French cinema — men like Lino Ventura, Bernard Blier, Jean Gabin and Francis Blanche.
Les Jeux sont Fait was developed by perfumer Dorothée Piot; the notes include bitter orange, English gin, angelica flower, rum, candied fruit and nuts, tobacco, cumin, sandalwood, leather, vanilla and patchouli.
Jovoy Paris Les Jeux sont Faits is available in 50 or 100 ml Eau de Parfum.

Juniper, tobacco and leather?
What ho!
I wait to take this one out for a ride!!

I managed to get hold of a 50ml bottle of this when it first appeared. It’s an extremely good and rich leather fragrance. My only mild complaint is that the dark juice stains fabrics if one’s not careful. Otherwise it’s just perfect.
Good to know, thanks!
Ive got my leather covered already, but that is a classy looking bottle.
Yes, Jovoy does nice packaging.
Seeing his name in this list of ‘tough guys’ would have made Francis Blanche laugh, just like he used to make people laugh in the theatre and the cinema: he was a marvellous comic actor, not a ‘tough guy’. He was a small, round, mischievous imp.
Paul Meurisse, on the other hand, could easily be added to the list: anyone who saw him rising from that bath in Les Diaboliques will know how scary he could be on screen.
The blurb was probably written by some very young person to whom those names mean nothing at all.
Thanks J! Just to be clear, the phrase “tough guys” was my interpretation of what the original French on the Jovoy site was getting at, but the examples are from Jovoy.
Yes, and you were absolutely right to use that term. 🙂
And for a present day tough guy I’m thinking Vincent Cassell (sorry, Monica!). Wearing Chanel Cuir de Russie today and inhaling its beautiful subtle leatheriness whilst reading this I am reminded just how much I LOVE leather 🙂
You smell great!
