Thierry Mugler Angel, Alien and Womanity Aqua Chic 2013

Thierry Mugler has launched new versions of Angel Aqua Chic and Alien Aqua Chic for summer 2013 (see last year's here), and introduced Womanity Aqua Chic.

Angel Aqua Chic ~ "ANGEL Aqua Chic is infused with aromatic rose water and revealed with a sparkling freshness. The perfect temptation for summer sensations and delights." With notes of rose water, raspberry, green apple, patchouli and vanilla. In 50 ml Eau de Toilette.

Alien Aqua Chic ~ "ALIEN Aqua Chic is infused with aromatic orange blossom water and revealed with a vibrant freshness. The perfect temptation for summer pleasures and warmth." With notes of orange blossom, lemon blossom and pink grapefruit. In 60 ml Eau de Toilette.

Womanity Aqua Chic ~ " WOMANITY Aqua Chic is infused with aromatic mandarin blossom water and revealed with a provocative freshness." With coriander, mandarin blossom, blackcurrant and spicy-woody base notes. In 60 ml Eau de Toilette.

The Thierry Mugler Aqua Chic collection is available now at the US Mugler store online, $85 each.

Since they’re going in a floral direction, instead of a calone direction (MAYBE), I wonder how these will be. It’s interesting because the Mugler winter flankers always generate so much interest among perfume people, while the summer ones, not at all.

A big maybe! I do think the brand in general does good flankers, but can’t even remember if I tried these last year. Does seem like one of the summer ones (Ice*Men?) was popular on the boards, but you’re right that they get less notice than things like the leather or gourmand collections.

I tried last year’s versions and found the Angel very dull and the Angel nice but not nice enough to want to buy (as Lys apparently did too).

Hmmm …. so Aqua Angel has a sparkling freshness, Aqua Alien has a vibrant freshness and Aqua Womanity has a provocative freshness. What does provocative freshness even mean?

I kind of liked last year’s Aqua Alien but not enough to buy it.

The “official” descriptions are unforgivably dull! Sounds like someone wrote them up in about 5 minutes.

Is it just me, or are there more people who are sick and tired to see a lot of flankers of Angel, Alien and now Womanity.

I don’t understand it, why not create a NEW perfume. Instead of using an original one, and change it a little bit and call it suddenly Aqua!

Mugler is slow to release new pillars, which in a way I think is wise of them…they have not, so far, released a complete dud (although they haven’t managed to best Angel yet, either).

But yes, we’re all sick of flankers, that is for sure!

The bottles are a bit duller than their usual flanker bottles…. But one or two of those will probably wind up on the Mugler shelf in my perfume cabinet.
