Bath & Body Works has launched Forever Red, a new fragrance for women:
Our most luxurious longest lasting fragrance blends opulent notes of fiery red pomegranate and delicate peche de vigne, a rare and fleeting French peach. Soft petals of red osmanthus give way to notes of addictive velvety marshmallow and a surprising finale of rich vanilla rum that leaves an unforgettable impression.
Additional notes include apple, peony, marigold and oak.
Bath & Body Works Forever Red is $45 for 75 ml Eau de Parfum or $22 for 236 ml Fragrance Mist; it is also available in matching body products.

I think peony may be just about as ubiquitous as pink pepper and oud. Peony is the oud of the fruity-floral world… lol
Anyway.. probably not for me.. I like peach and osmanthus, but (not surprisingly), the marshmallow/vanilla thing sounds like sugar shock waiting to happen. I’ll bet that the oak and marigold won’t be present enough to offset it either.
I am curious to smell it. It’s considerably more expensive than their regular offerings, so hope something about it is “different” or “better”.
Am I the only one who doesn’t think pomegranates smell all that great? I know they’re quite good for you and all, but I’ve never found the fragrance to be one I crave. But I must be in the minority here, as this fruit seems to be more and popular as a perfume note.
Haven’t really smelled any fragrances where pomegranate played a starring role…even Jo Malone Pom Noir didn’t seem to me to smell all that much like pomegranate. Or maybe I’m forgetting something? Either way, not a note I care about either way.
I love the smell of actual pomegranate — it’s sort of dark and tart and the little membranes inside smell kind of green. The only pomegranate perfume I’ve tried is Keiko Mecheri Grenats, which doesn’t smell all that pomegranate-y to me, although it does have a crisp tartness. It is not a scent I think of marrying well with marshmallows or vanilla (rum, on other hand, might be good!)
I bought a small trial size of this and was surprised. It smells more ritzy than their typical fragrances. I probably will purchase full size of it.
Thanks, good to know!
I didn’t get the trial size, although I usually do… I kept not hitting the store at the right time to get the cheap $5 preview. I have sniffed the fragrance on card. It definitely smells more expensive than their typical fragrance – it’s very sweet, for sure, but I would probably wear this above many department store fruity florals. If you like fruity florals, check it out.
So still sweet, but better — thanks!
I smelled this 2 weeks ago…it did not leave much of an impression. I will try it again the next time I’m in the mall.
Thanks!
I retried Forever Red and did not like it at all. It was way too sweet and smelled cheap.
On me, the $5 Forever Red sample was grape soda + Welch’s grape jelly + marshmallow, with no end in sight and no other notes except possibly the vanilla rum and a mere possible hint of something floral in the first 30 seconds. It was incredibly sweet, even more so than the usual BBW oeuvre; it was a grape jelly-covered marshmallow that makes Dark Kiss seem bitter! The grape bits were reminiscent of another scent BBW’s released since 2010, but I cannot think of it right now. The Paris flankers trio gave me hope that maybe there was a change for the better in the brand (they seemed more grown-up and more like BBW from 2005 — 2009), the following scents left me a bit apathetic… but this? I think I developed a cavity from sniffing it! I’m still hoping that the body products will be more balanced and less sweet.
Oh, as to the Cashmere Glow sample… structurally, it reminds me of Twilight Woods: Fruit + creamysmoothmiddle + mellow end. This time, the top is apricot+berries, the middle is a warm sweet vanilla cloud vaguely similar to their old Fresh Vanilla, but with the added sweetness of dulce de leche and the occasional floral whisper, and the bottom is a faint Warm Vanilla Sugar clone without the harsh bits that WVS has. I swear I pick up the occasional bit of powder in this, but I think it’s an olfactory hallucination. If I had to pick between this and Forever Red, Cashmere Glow would come home.
Also, I’ve noticed two new mens’ scents: Dark Amber (basically bergamot + amber) and Paris for Men (which does not show up on the website at all, I’ve only seen it once in one store… I’m wondering if I imagined it?). Neither left any sort of impression beyond an inability to distinguish them from the other BBW mens’ scents. (I have a theory that all the mens’ scents in the Signature line contain the same notes, just blended in different proportions) I’ll keep an eye out for the Paris for Men next time I visit, just to double check that I didn’t imagine it.

Wow! Thanks, and will look for the new men’s things.
Every time I looked at this bottle I would feel like I was at a traffic light!
Ha! A traffic light that will be red FOREVER, what could be worse?
Every time you spray it, you get just a little more of that frustrated feeling:)
I bought (well I had a coupon for a free $5 or less mini item..) the Forever Red mini.I returned it (I had a choir event going on the day I bought it and couldn’t give it a skin test until later.)
To me Forever Red was nasty. Don’t get me wrong ,I like Osmanthus-Burberry,Fancy Love ,Rampage’s 100% Love;Marshmallow-Mariah Carey M;Marigold -Liz Claiborne,Lauren, etc. Problem is that what Forever Red smells like is this: Take 5 grains of Pomegranete and half of a slice of peach liquify in blender and let sit til it’s about to turn. Then add some heavy canning syrup.Mix. Then add about 5 pounds of sugar (is this what the Marshmallow is referring to ?If so the marshmallow may be an accurate note.)Done !
This is SOOOOOooooooo SWEEEEEET that it makes Aqualina Pink Sugar and Britany Spears Fantasy seem mature by comparison.
