Posted by Robin on 27 September 2012 121 Comments — Comments are closed

Ineke + Anthropologie Floral Curiosities travel sprays

What is it: a complete set of Ineke + Anthropologie Floral Curiosities travel sprays (15 ml bottles of Angel’s Trumpet, Scarlet Larkspur, Poet’s Jasmine and Sweet William). A runner up will get a Deluxe Sample Collection including the latest Ineke fragrance, Hothouse Flower.

How do I get it: For a chance to win, leave a comment on the website telling me that you live in the US. And tell me either a) your favorite Ineke fragrance or b) what "unique, rare botanical" you think they should add to the Floral Curiosities collection at Anthropologie.

Be sure to use the “Post a comment” box; do not reply to another comment! Replies to comments will be deleted!

The contest will be open until noon or so on Monday, and I'll announce the winner on Tuesday.

The fine print: Don't enter the contest unless I have permission to use the email address in your reader account to contact you. If the email address in your reader account is incorrect, you might want to fix it. If you are the winner and you fail to send me your mailing details within a couple weeks, I’ll give your prize away to someone else.

I am a US resident. Hothouse flower is a fave from Ineke. YAY!

Oh yes, I live in the US — so far from even Anthro normally (deep South). I’m working in CT at the moment, smelling historic gardens, and I really think that various dianthus get short shrift.

    I live in the US.
I still cannot decide on a fave from Ineke — Balmy Days and Sundays, After my own Heart or Evening Edged in Gold?..

    I would add Jack-in-the-Pulpit!
Thanks for a marvelous draw, I would love to win the Floral Curiosities… but I would love to give someone an opportunity to enjoy the Deluxe Collection since I went through two of those.

I live in the US and the only Ineke fragrance I’ve tried (but really liked) is Field Notes from Paris. Thanks for the contest.

I live in the US…I actually love Derring Do and Evening Edged in Gold…wouldn’t it be cool to do a fragrance based on Moon Flower??? (does anyone do a moon flower??)

I live in the USA. I love Derring Do and Hot House. I love how the fragrances are not so gender specific.
I would LOVE to see a really great tea rose fragrance. Here is why…When tea rose has been done in the past it is so over powering that it always comes across as having bathed in it.
Tea rose is such a smoky and mysterious scent that I’ve always wondered why it has not been explored more often. It has an amazing quality that can be played with due to its masculine and feminine traits.
Unfortunately too many companies in the past have made product that say ‘tea rose’ only to be an old lady rose.

I live in Los Angeles, where one of my favorite scents is night-blooming jasmine (cestrum nocturnum). The flowers are not much to look at and you won’t notice the bush in the garden. But take a walk on a warm night, with the evening’s damp slowly overtaking the dusty asphalt of day, and you might be lucky enough to wander into an invisible pool of the beautiful, mysterious “Queen of the Night”. No one has got that scent experience right, so Ineke should try!

I live in the US. I’ve always enjoyed Osmanthus as a fragrance note. Never tried Ineke, but I would love to win this set!

I live in the U.S. I would love a fragrance with a black locust flower note. It is my favorite flowering tree. I haven’t had the chance to try Ineke but I keep hearing good things.

I live in the US my favorite is Derring Do. I love winning things! I am familiar with Ineke because my wife is a perfume addict and loves this line of fragrances!

I live in the US, and yes, you can contact me. I would love to answer the “what should they do next” question, but the best smelling little white flower we have around here is a nameless weed that gets mercilessly mowed down out of hand. Given it’s appearance, I’d be willing to bet it’s an ipomoea, but whether it’s a morning glory or a potato or a whateverelseitcouldbe, I don’t know. They don’t stay open during the day though, and when the sun comes up you can watch the things close, if you have time. They smell absolutely gorgeous. So my vote would be for “That one in the grass right there!”

I live in the US and I love Evening Edged in Gold. I’d love to see someone do a scent based on Nigh Scented Stock. (Penhaligon’s didn’t smell anything like it to my nose, which is admittedly not that sophisticated)

    Thanks for a fun draw!

I live in the US and my favorite scent is “Field Notes from Paris”. My suggestion for a scent would be the flowers from a Basswood tree as it’s known here in MN. Otherwise also called Linden. Something soft and not overly sweet.

  22. Gennyleigh says:
    27 September 2012 at 4:55 pm

I live in the US and the only Ineke I’ve tried is Field Notes from Paris (which I quite liked, if I recall correctly). I really love the packaging. Thanks for the giveaway, Robin!

Err, and I live in the U.S. And I already have the sample set, so if you happen draw me for that you can send to someone else who hasn’t had a chance to try these scents yet.

Hi! I live in the US, and I think Anthropologie should add silk tree flower (some call it mimosa) to their Floral Curiousities line. It’s such a great scent, and woefully underused. Thank you for the draw.

I live in the U.S. but not by an Anthropologie store so this is such a great giveaway! Thanks Robin! I would love, love to win this!

I’ve only tried one scent out of the FC line up there.. so, I would love to try the ones I haven’t tried..love.

My fave Ineke is An Evening Edged In Gold. I remember sniffing it at a perfume shop..where I just couldn’t find anything I liked. Then I sniffed Ineke scents and that one in particular..so very nice. And Field Notes is nice..that warm, sweet tobacco. I had a sample but went through it like cherry Pez..it was that good.

I hope that Ineke does a violet soliflore in her A-H line!!!! Or FC line, don’t care!:). And a jasmine in her A-H line. I know there’s Poet’s Jasmine-which I haven’t sniffed yet- but how abouts another jasmine in the A-H line? A jasmine soliflore like the Hothouse Flower..only jasmine! Can’t have too much jasmine I say! Anything but tuberose! Haha. But yes, violet! I would love to sniff an orange blossom or an amber-vanilla oriental as well!

    Thanks Robin!

I live in the US, and I’m happy to hear from you! :)

When I think rare botanicals, I think *rare*! So, I’m wondering what can be done with the green, dusty scent of some of the didicerae I encountered in Madagascar–no idea what the common name in English is for those! They’re sort of trees, but they look like they were drawn by Dr. Seuss. :)

  44. Elena says:

I live in the US, and I don’t really know Ineke’s line. I would love to see a perfume done inspired by blueberry blossom. It is a heavenly scent, and I think many who are lucky enough to live near wild blueberry bushes would buy it by the gallon.

Haven’t found a Ineke perfume that I want to bring home.

I think they should explore Mock Orange as a rare botanical or Cottonwood buds. Cottonwood buds infused in oil is intoxicating and it’s makes a great liniment.

I have yet to find a true apple blossom scent. They are neither rare nor unique, but are impossible to match in perfume. However, I would be happy if Anthro/Ineke choose one of the other suggestions of blueberry blossoms, linden, dianthus, or cottonwood.

I am a US resident. Tending to favor more herb than floral, I would vote for a pineapple sage scent. I grew this plant in a large container for its gorgeous red blossoms but, their visual beauty was overpowered by the delicious scent of the leaves. Herbaceous and savory yet tinted by a pineapple sweetness. Just gorgeous and perfect for a hot summer’s day!

I am a US resident. I really enjoyed Balmy Days and Sundays. I don’t think any of the ones they’ve put in the botanical collection so far have been rare or unusual, so I’m going to say Hosta. Most people don’t realize that Hostas have a lily-like flower that blooms every summer, and it’s a lovely, rich, creamy white floral with a hint of green.

I live in the US. It isn’t a rare botanical, but I’d love to smell Ineke’s version of a magnolia. I’m sure there’s a rare variety of magnolia out there to incorporate into the line.

Hi Robin. I live in the U.S. My favorite Ineke scent is the new Hothouse Flower!

I’m a U.S. resident (Ineke’s city of San Francisco!) and I really loved Chemical Bonding. One of the few citruses I wear.

I am a US resident, San Francisco in fact! I love the A)fter my own Heart. For a new scent, I would love a clove pink, or maybe a lilly of the valley

I live in the US and I’d love to smell a perfume based on Sweet Pepperbush (Clethra alnifolia)…such a nostalgic evocation of midsummer afternoons.

I am from Kansas City, Missouri, USA. I bought our first Ineke perfume sample set for my wife after we had our first daughter (her name is Ineke). She loves shopping at Anthropologie, and we are so glad to see the success of both companies.
I have always had a special place in my brain for tuberose. I know it is a powerfully sweet smell, but just a hint of it brings back memories of family, summer sun, and childish fun.

  101. kcollins78 says:

I live in the US, but rather far from an Anthropologie, sadly. I haven’t been lucky enough to try any Ineke fragrances but think orchid would be a lovely scent although it’s not particularly rare.

I live in the U.S, but I’ve never been able to try an Ineke fragrance. I’d love a fragrance that smells like an actual lilac, not like air freshener or toilet bowl cleaner.

I live in the US! I would love to see wild anise as a Floral Curiosity- at least I think that’s what it is. It’s a wild plant that I remember from my childhood near the California coast. Sometimes when I visit at the right season, I catch a whiff of a spicy yet fresh green scent, always near the beach.

I live in the US. Of those released, I’m most curious about Sweet William. Where I’m from they’re called “Pinks”, and we used to stop to smell them on walks through the neighborhood.

Hi Robin, Live in the U.S.

I’m not sure if it’s Ineke, but the last fragrance that I bought at Anthropologie was Silk Road Caravan. Get tons of compliments.
I’d like them to experiment with ‘darker’ scents; most of the stuff they have are too floral-y.

  109. mridula says:

I live in the US. Certainly you can write to me at my email address. I haven’t tried anything from Ineke, would love; of course. If I could ask for a perfume built around a rare botancial ingrediant it’d have to be ginger. I know it may not be technically rare, but it is rare in that try as i might I have yet to meet a ginger perfume that smells bitter like the root and not sweet like a ginger bread cookie.

    Hi Robin,

I live in the US and I’m not super familiar with the entire Ineke line, but I’d love to see them do an osmanthus fragrance.

    Thanks for the giveaway,

I live in the US and really like Poet’s Jasmine.
This looks like a fun little set. Perhaps Ineke would consider the peppery scent of nasturtium leaves? Or the scent of quince? Or even the scent of catalpa flowers….

I live in the US and I am quite familiar with Ineke’s offerings. I love the new packaging for the Floral Curiosities collection. Poet’s Jasmine is my favorite from that collection and Field Notes in Paris is my favorite from her signature line.

  118. YellowLantern says:

I live in the US. Poet’s Jasmine is the only one I’ve tried, but it didn’t make much impression on me. I think the next “rare botanical” they should add is cilantro! Okay it’s not a flower, but still I think it could be interesting as the phrase “botanical” usually brings to mind smells of cilantro or mint. :)
