S4P Aurisse, Laawan, Sharky & Skiron ~ new fragrances

Posted by Robin on 29 July 2012 15 Comments

S4P Aurisse, Laawan, Sharky & Skiron

S4P is a new niche brand debuting with four fragrances, Aurisse, Laawan, Sharky and Skiron. Ten percent of proceeds will benefit Science for Peace.

Aurisse ~ "A sudden, impetuous French coastal wind, announcing unexpected changes of weather are soon to take place, after splendid days of heat and sun. It blows in from the sea at 15-20 knots and carries an intensity of aroma that sharpens the notes of ozone." With notes of petitgrain, bitter orange, grapefruit, white rose, lime, pink pepper, basil leaves, geranium, glacial mint, white amber, white cedar and incense.

Laawan  ~ "A West Wind in the lands of Arabia, Laawan "the helper", because it helps farmers to dry their valuable crops of wheat at harvest time. Warm and reassuring, heated by the sun, it gives energy to mankind and nature, bringing prosperity and luxuriance." The notes include pink pepper, grapefruit, ylang ylang, iris, jasmine, musk, cedar and amber.

Sharky ~ "A wind that blows from the East or South-East and is typical of Morocco. Frequent in summer, it is a warm dry wind with characteristic persistence and temperatures that can rise in the Sahara area. During the winter season it is less frequent and very cold." With fig leaves, rose, lilac, jasmine, musk, vanilla, sandalwood and cedar.

Skiron ~ "Skiron (or Skeiron) a Greek divinity of the North-West wind. Its name is linked to Skirophorion, the last of the three months of spring in the Attic calendar of festivities. Depicted as a bearded man tipping a cauldron, he represents the beginning of winter." The notes feature sage, cinnamon, almond blossom, carnation, myrrh, wisteria, rose, opoponax, vanilla, cedar and sandalwood.

S4P Aurisse, Laawan, Sharky and Skiron are available in 50 ml Eau de Parfum, and can be purchased at First in Fragrance in Germany, €98 each.

Hm. The line looks interesting, but the name “Sharky” sticks out like a sore thumb. “Sharqi” would have been better somehow, seeing that “Chergui” is off-limits.

Agree, Sharky sounds like a 1950s gang member.

I wish I knew the fragrance families. Not sure I’m dying for any of these.

The bottles are adorable but what’s with the cedar? Cedar is listed in all of these. Many sound nice enough for me to want to try…I just hope none of them are hamster cagey.

The bottles remind me of those little ceramic birds that are used on top of pie crusts to vent steam.

the scents sound fine but the bottles have to go! i’d be embarrassed to own that. it looks like a quirky kitchen utensil or something.
