Thanks!
Just got a sample of La Petite Robe Noire with some stuff I bought at Escentual – this is pretty good stuff! I had written it off based on the fruit notes, but this is actually a fantastic smoky black tea scent with some sweet(ish) dark rose – it says black cherry, and although it isn’t super fruity sweet to me, you can tell it’s black cherry. They managed to make it not smell like cough syrup and it complements the other ‘dark’ notes really well. There’s a slight patch-wood undertone which is more an emphasis to the tea note rather than a separate jarring clean patch layer. It certainly isn’t classic Guerlain, but it isn’t a straight up sweet scent like My Insolence was either. It’s a well blended modern scent that will probably do a great job of pulling in both younger and older customers. Really give kudos to Guerlain for surprising me!
Glad to hear it!
