There really is no sensible comment left, is there?

Are you talking to Kim Kardashian or Serge Lutens?

Just reread it and my comment comes across as glib – sorry! Just meant they’re all doing it, flooding the market with new releases. KK is functioning here less like a celeb and more like a brand.

Not glib at all! I laughed when I read it. :-)

Ha, but Serge surely has more of an excuse, LOL…but you’re right.

That could depend on how big you are and how big your competition is. I agree it probably couldn’t legally be done; but if you have the money for litigation and the other entity doesn’t? Consider Bond No. 9 and Peace.

That packaging literally could not look any cheaper. It’s like one of those knockoffs you see in the dollar stores.

Did you see Robin’s link in the right sidebar, you have to pay $40 more to a *metal* cap on Lady Gaga’s Fame.

I think [based on the prices] that the regular editions are EDT and the one in the fancier bottle is a parfum.
        Regular edition – $30 [about £19]
        ‘Le Masterpiece’ – $70 [£45]

I cannot believe that she is launching another one! I wonder if she’s trying to compete with JLo who’s launched 18 fragrances in the last 10 years, making approx. $80million in sales … the most out of all celebrities who’ve launched fragrances! It’s obviously a lucrative business for the celebs and the fragrance houses, but all I want is some more creative perfumes to be launched!

You know, throw in some Gianduia chocolate and you’d have Missoni. Ooooh, so close!

Maybe it’s the law of randomness after that enough celeb fragrances one will accidentally recreate a lost classic!

Wondering — are there ANY celebrity fragrances worth having? There has to be an exception to prove the rule!

When I’m out and about, I seem to see celebrity fragrances everywhere, they are in the department stores, the mall kiosks, the drug store, the off price stores, big box stores, even Costco has some. Sometimes I sample them, and they smell ‘nice’ at the time but I don’t seem to recall any as being any more memorable than my fabric softener sheets.

The nicest one was actually by Hilary Duff; With Love is a spicy oriental. Sadly I don’t think it’s made any more. Shame – she’s the last celeb who would appeal to me [except KK], so the perfume was a real surprise.
Mariah Carey’s first one is nicely done too.

I totally agree with you on both of those. I will hang my head in shame and risk everyone’s derision by stating that I own quite a few celebrity frags (seven in toto), plus a handful of samples, and those two, plus SJP’s Lovely, are the ones I receive the most compliments on. You may be able to still find the original WL in Tjmaxx or Marshall’s, i wound up buying three 3.4 flozs on the cheap so that I don’t run out.

If you love gardenia-tuberose blends, Madonna’s Truth or Dare is very pretty-yet-sophisticated (especially for the price).

^Wouldn’t be any different than any designer or niche brand ;)

I do like True Reflection but I haven’t seen it in any stores in the U.S. The company sent me those carded samples. I won’t go on a hunt looking for this but if I come across it I’ll smell it

Celebs and their scents just suck, sorry. When I think glamorous..I think more of like idk..maybe Lipstick Rose, a classy glamorous:). That’s a scent worth buying!

I think one of the more interesting ones was Covet by SJP..wouldn’t buy it or wear it(not my cup of tea)..but it was interesting, especially for a celeb scent.

“Glam?” I’d rather see something a bit more true to life like, “Disappointment,” “Fraud,” or, “Skank.”

It’s funny, the notes don’t sound so bad to me! Star jasmine is a favorite flower, tuberose is too, orris is great, sandalwood can be nice. Even watermelon is kind of interesting! I’m guessing that Glam’s versions of all of these notes will be sugar syrupy and ultra cheap.

I like the idea of the notes, but I’m not sure how they’ll be executed here… lets just hope it doesn’t end up like Selena Gomez’s “perfume”… yikes
