Aquolina Pink Sugar Sparks ~ new fragrance

Posted by Robin on 26 June 2012 14 Comments

Aquolina Pink Sugar Sparks

Aquolina has launched Pink Sugar Sparks, a new flanker to 2003's Pink Sugar:

Pink Sugar Sparks is a sparkling diamond cloud, a refined fragrance featuring floral and fruity notes with an unexpected vanilla and coffee bean finish. For a woman chasing her femininity and her dreams.

The notes include bergamot, raspberry, peach, green tea, cabbage rose, jasmine, freesia, vanilla orchid, vanilla, musk, patchouli and coffee bean.

Aquolina Pink Sugar Sparks can be found now at Nordstrom, in 50 ml Eau de Toilette and matching body products.

Aquolina needs to bring back CHOCOLOVERS! I mean, seriously, there’s a demand. They were like 10 bucks about a year ago on Ebay, now they are selling for 60-90 bucks a bottle. Lovely scent with a spicy kick, love it. I do like Pink Sugar, not nearly as much as Chocolovers. Will sniff this one for sure..but really, they need to relaunch Chocolovers:(.

I liked it way better than Pink Sugar, but I don’t think it sold well even though it may have a group of dedicated fans.

They should have called it Chocolate Sugar — betcha it would have sold more.

I still enjoy Chocolovers as well. I think Robin is right that calling it “Chocolate Sugar” would have been a better selling point!

You should have been on their marketing team Robin, lol. For sure, that would have sold. I guess Chocolovers isn’t mainstream sounding enough maybe. If they relaunched under that name..I think it would be a success.

Can’t quite put my finger on it, but the notion of “chasing my femininity” kinda weirds me out! Like I have to prove I’m feminine? Or I have to earn my femininity? I dunno, maybe I’m just cranky this morning!

It made me think of a woman frantically chasing a frilly pink dress down the street. Kind of like the Gingerbread Man, only girly.

Pink Sugar has disappeared from shops here. I liked it better than Chocolovers.

The packaging looks nice enough, airy and fruity. I expected a lighter, sparkling, more lemony air sugar. The notes are a bit weird. I was quite looking forward to smelling like citron raspberry ladyfingers on occasion ;-)

Pink Sugar is definitely still in production though!

Sparks reminds me of I LOVE NY for All like no other! That one is unisex so I guess it might make sense. Haha! Seeing as how I really want the NY, I’m gonna get Sparks for 45 and say I’m wearing NY! Hahaha I’m bad! I thought this one was a summer version of Pink for some reason but it definitely is not. Haha. I think I like it more than the original Pink! : )
